Angeles City

I'm in the middle of my fifth trip to Angeles. I've been coming here approximately once every six months.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I detect a sudden rudeness amongst the population. From the hotel staff to the dancers to the waitresses.

- At Stampede (in the Perimeter), I sat next to four dancers. After a friendly group chat, one of the girls suggested I buy everyone a drink. Of course, I refused (but said I would buy one of them a drink only). They abruptly stopped talking to me and started talking loudly amongst themselves in Tagalog. By their tone and facial expression, I know they were talking trash about me.

- At Pony Tails, when I paid the tab without buying a lady drink, I sensed a similar attitude from the waitress. None of this "thank you for coming" demeanor. I don't fucking believe I left a tip. My typical policy in America when eating at a restaurant is, if a waitress don't thank me, she gets no tip. I need to start doing it here.

- At where I'm staying (Blue Nile), no security guy even opens the door anymore. The hotel staff doesn't greet you when you walk pass. The night time attendant just fumbles through her cellphone.

These are just three of many personal examples.

I'm sure it's not the bar but the employee. For some reason, people have gotten more rude and bold compared to my last trips. Anyone detect something similar? If I can return to Hong Kong tonight, I would. Without the friendliness, there is no advantage to mongering in a third world shithole like this.

is that really new? I tend to believe that this was the case ever since, but I would not go that far to call it 'rude'. On the other hand I can somehow understand that under these circumstances bargirls are not all too pleased and they might wonder why to entertain a customer when he does not pay for a drink. Or am I too sympathetic?

Some bars are ok and others are worst. They often target the single male coming in for a beer and not picking out a lady on stage or buying a LD for the waitress trying to sit next to you and chatting away. They never seem to care or have attitudes when there are 2 or more coming in as a group as they can easily have a conversation with one another without picking anyone in the bar. Sometimes I feel the way you do and often just come in and look around for any good talent and leave without ordering anything. I know they don't like this at all but better than sitting down buying a beer , being a customer and still get an attitude.

Our approach is different. I'm not looking to have 'fun' in AC bars when I'm alone. Its different when I'm with friends. We chat, drink, watch the eye candy. We hit several bars and a restraunt in the evening. But we wait till the evening is done for us (about 11-12midnight) to finally go find poon. Once we are done and looking for poon, its a quick item for me. 5-10 minutes in almost any bar will do the trick for me. I shy away from LD's because they are just gravy money for the bar.

When I'm alone, having fun in the bars is farthest from my mind. I just want to find a girl for the evening. Just like at the end of the evening with my friends, probably I can find a girl by hitting 1 or 2 bars. I'm not the kind to start at 9am and hit 8 bars, get drunk, chat 8 different girls, buy LD's, party in the bar. Going out about 11pm and being back in my hotel by 11:30 is not unusual. I'm with Sharka, I walk into a bar (ie, Body Shop) and walk the length of it (or in this case, the 'circle' of it), taking in the girls. If I don't see a bunch that I fancy, just walk down a door or two (normally in any given bar I'm happy with half or more of the talent). If I do see some, I sit, order the drink, and call the mama or oldest waitress over. Tell her my needs, then let her point some out and call them over. Conversation:

me: hi hun whats your name?
girl: rosa. kumasta?
me: fine hun. would you like to possibly barfine with me tonight?
girl: yes (if no, or if she hesitates: thank her and send her back to dance)
me: me too. can you do for me x, y, z tonight and stay till 10am tomorrow?
girl: yes (if other, send her back to dance)
me: go get dressed hun
(NOW buy mama a drink -- she has done her job)

Not very romantic, is it? Jesus dont sit at a table by yourself, you are a target for waitress wanting a LD. Sit at the dance stage, closest to the girls. Dont bother with the mama if you can avoid it, talk directly to the girls. If she says NO to going with you, she will be glad to point out another girl for you to chat with.

There is a notion (that's all it is) that the pinay must feel 'comfortable' before she leaves the bar with a man. That is true. And it is untrue. Some girls must feel this way. Others don't give a flying hiney about that. She just needs the next wallet -- I mean gentleman -- who walks in the door. Even the first set of girls, who normally need to feel 'comfortable' before leaving, will from time to time ignore this need, as her rent is due. If you are one of those gents that thinks the girl sitting with you must feel comfortable with you, then you probably will buy her a LD (or 3) before bothering to ask if she's interested in barfining.

No, the waitresses have this snoty attitude even without entertaining me. I would understand completely if they got friendly and I didn't buy them anything.

And for the girls, if I don't buy a LD, I know they would be disappointed. But at least in the past, they'd be good sports about it. On this trip, they seem more inclined to openly air their displeasure.

Don't trip. It's normal and maybe you are going thru bad streak or just more sensitive about it right now. I've been getting good service on this trip but that's not always the way it goes. Your scenarios are normal in the course of a trip. Just don't let it get to you.

I will be arriving in Angeles soon but knicking off to Bangkok and then returning to angeles during my AC stay. Will go ex Manila not Angeles as I don't like the sound of cancelled Bangkok-Angeles flights.

Can I buy Cebu Pacific Air ticket Manila to Bangkok from travel agents in Angeles? Cause I have found you have a better chance of a better price few days before flight rather than one or two days before flight. Don't like the idea of staying in Manila to get ticket, not my favourite town and do not want to buy online, read on ISG of CPA problems there too, LOL.

Preference would be Kokomos agency, but any in Fields would do. No luck with Mo's website. Now hoping someone at ISG can help me.

1. Buy a Cebu Pacific Air ticket in Angeles itself? Think I should be able to but would like to know in advance.

2. Read on this forum fairly recently, raids etc in connection with "sex trafficking". Has that all cooled down and things back to normal?

From my experience:

- if you go into a bar alone, a waitress or dancer is more likely to sit beside you and chat you up. Unfortunately, it's usually the ugly/desperate ones that do this. So, I always give them a smile with a "no thanks" and send them off.

- I don't particularly care whether the security guy at the hotel opens the door for me or not.

- Once, at Central Park hotel, I came back at night after a barhop. The policy there is that you leave your keys at reception when you go out. So when I got back, I wanted to pick up my keys from the receptionist. She was busy talking on the phone; on her cellphone, not the hotel's landline. I tell her my room number verbally, and signal two-four (room number) with my fingers. I want my keys! She acts annoyed cause obviously I disturbed her while she is chatting with a friend. Finally, the doorman saves the day by coming over and getting me my keys. Talk about unprofessional.

- One piece of advice given to me by a friend: if it's reasonably late and a hot (big titted) girl is still dancing onstage unpicked, you should be aware. There is probably a good reason why she has not been picked.

Not at all. If you don't buy her drink, she has no incentive to entertain you. Fair enough.

What I don't understand though is the indifferent attitude of the dancers. You would think that they would smile/wink/wave at a customer, unless she really isn't interested. I know I would buy her a drink, if she is reasonably goodlooking. But most of them either stare straight ahead, or too busy with the other girls on stage.

Apparently not in Perimeter bars. The extra cost of the LDs goes to the girls. Quoted from a post on "that other PI board":

Ladies 120 -10% = 108p -50p (girls commish)= 58 less drink cost 10p = 48p for the bar
Local 65 - 10% = 58.5p less drink 10p = 48.5p

Add mamasan commish on the ladies drinks makes another 5p difference between local and ladies

We are a little different then. I love to barhop with buddies. All day and all night long, if people are up for it (and hangover from yesterday allows it).

Although I too do a quick scan of the girls after entering a bar. No point in staying if the talent is lacking.

I have always bought a LD for the girl while conducting the interview. The way I look at it, even if I don't barfine the girl, I still had fun with her. Especially in Perimeter bars where the girls are a lot friendlier. I may change my MO though. Maybe I will ask the following question in lightning quick fashion before buying a LD:
- virgin?
- mens? can barfine?
- do you like me?

And yes, I am the kind of guy that will only barfine a girl if she likes me too. If she acts stiff, reluctant, or has even the slightest hesitation in answering the question "do you like me", I will not take her. Too many bars and too many girls in AC to put up with something like that.

It's funny that, even if you're the only one in the bar, most would still pretend not to see you!

I think there are four possible reasons for this...

- In Filipino culture, the ladies are supposed to be submissive, not act as the aggressor

- The Filipinas have noticed that winking doesn't work because the guy picks a girl due to her attractiveness, not her friendliness

- If the Filipinas wave/wink, she will look slutty and cheap which will draw the ire or jealousy of other dancers

- The girls don't do it out of a sense of pride and ego. After all, being up there isn't exactly the most glamorous job

Hell you are going to have to pay for the pussy anyway so why throw away all the extra? As far as starting early at the bars that is why I didn't like AC and Manila. If you are not drinking, fucking, eating, sleeping, or walking in the mall then there is nothing else to do. No activities whatsoever. I have no idea about other parts of PI. But in Pattaya and BKK there is tons to do outside of monger related activities. A female friend of ours actually came to PI with us when we left Hong Kong. She didn't do any research on the place beforehand. The same day that we arrived she realized there wasn't a damn thing to do and she was on the next thing smoking to Thailand.

I always use my mongering name when I am out. But in CP everyone knows your real name and they call you by it whenever you pass them. Hello Mr. "Real First Name". The girls were picking up on it fast and calling me out about it.

This is typical of any spoiled girl. The girls get more spoiled every year. Deal with it and spend more money or find another place to monger.
