So pardon my "prickness", but it goes with the territory. I took calculated risks to build My Place and might have even risked my life, but it worked out. So it's all good, I understand. Got to give you credit for opening and maintaining your successful business there on the Mayorista, which ironically is one of the reasons that I don't post about my favorite new hangouts in Brazil, God forbid another entrepreneur opens a "Place" out there, next to my new hangout. Hahaha.

Also, guys like Blackhawk and Miami Heat and others may stronger personalities, but are also very experienced with a wealth of knowledge of various areas in Colombia and have helped me out, most recently Blackhawk sending me great info on Santa Marta.

As luck would have it, the winds of luck are sending me for a Medellin visit at the beginning of June, maybe I'll see ya there.

People can speculate all they want about the new CB bar, just leave it up to MB and my cooking skills, don't worry!

President Obama was going to include it in his speach on Forgien Policy the other day but deleted it.

Yeah, I remember back in the day when I first started posting about La Mayorista 4 years ago. There was a little accountant named Pauly from the Mansion. He would trash and spam everything I would say about La Mayorista and made it seem like Hell on Earth and then he would send me pics of all the girls he had been with and taken to the Mansion from Mayo. Which happenned to be most of the girls I was hanging with back then, got to admit he had good taste. He would send me pics of with Karolina and Tatiana and a bunch of others with him in the pool at the Mansion. Then he would apologize for spamming me saying that his little accountant self felt like a king in La Mayorista and didn't want it to be run over by gringos like in San Jose, Costa Rica. So I know what you mean about protecting your "favourite hangouts" in Brazil.

Talking about Brazil, way back, maybe 15 years ago I read an article in "Men's Health" on how there was a country where "women chased men", it was about Brazil. Back then it wasn't about money, the women would hang out with you for free for weeks at a time just to go out and party. They were not working girls. It was said that if you did not compliment a girl on her beauty it was consider an insult. You could go in any small town or bank and flirt with the girls and they expected it and did not get offended.

I had a friend from Spain that went there and confirmed what I had read, he met no working girls, just regular girls wanting to party. I still have the magazine. Always wanted to go to a little town that was mentioned in the article,"Bello Horizonte", but then I started comming to Colombia, Cartagena, Cali, Barranquilla 10 years ago, and finally Medellin 6 years ago and just lost interest in going anywhere else. Mostly because I'm lazy about travelling anymore and just like the 3 hour jump from Miami to Medellin. I travelled when I was in College all over Europe for months at a time, hopping from train to train. Wish I still had half that energy.

Maybe You can be my wingman in Brazil some day and take me to "Bello Horizonte", I promise I would never betray your favourite spots, and would not even mention the trip. Good luck, take care!

Buenos. I was at the Calle 54 address 2 days ago as mentioned on the "casa Medellin list'. The new resident there said the new address is Calle 57 no. 43-38, I was on my way there but got sidetracked at New Life while on my way to the new address so can't confirm. The door is still painted the familar 'robins egg blue". I sure love it when I see those blue doors!

Hi HR, finally someone with some commonsense and balls and not afraid of these "cyber bullies". I thought all my friends had abandoned me. I guess most people are afraid to get into controversies against guys so aggressive at "cyber bulling". Unfortunately for them I can hold my own whether it be "fighting with words" like a girl, or as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitoner when protecting myself and my guests at La Mayorista, until I finally realized I didn't need to. But I did get into a scrap with one of the drug dealers back in the day, with some ugly guy that looked like a rat, literally, he was called "el raton". Mostly the drug dealers would be hiding away in some room and the girls would go and get the stuff. But this guy would stand right out there doing his transactions and with a girl in his arms all the time.

Well I was a hard ass back then and he graded on me. So one day I decided to go and say Hi, just to get him out of my system. He got smart and said I only said Hi because of the girl, the, there were almost 75 more girls. It pissed me off, so I stood there and stared him down in a challenging manner. I was either drunk or stupid to forget these guys have back up. Almost immediately 3 other guys step forward and one showed me a gun. I thought they would back off, but all four of them started attacking me. I told "el Raton" why don't you fight me alone and he just invited me to a hidden alley. I might have been a prick, but I wasn't that stupid. So I got in a defensive stand, left fist stretched out, right fist in ready position, but I knew I couldn't hurt anybody lest they have a reason to shoot me. So I just held them back for 3-4 minutes till somebody came and stopped the fight. Didn't feel anything at the time with all the adrenaline pumping, but my jaw was a little swollen the next day.

I came back twice with the cops, but they kept running away the minute they saw me. The police was walking very slowly behind me on both occassions almost purposely giving them time to run away. Finally I complaint to the Sergeant and he gave me the guys "cedula", name and I'd. They knew who he was they just never caught him with anything on him since they hide the stuff in the hotels. And there is a degree of tolerance for that in the area. I was just pissed because it had never been so in the open. I finally reported him to the Colombia DEA and offered to testify, since I had seen him dealing directly. Finally the DEA calls me on the day they were going to arrest him and a couple hours later the agent I was working with calls me back saying that he's supervisor had to let him go because he was part of a bigger investigation. Well, by now he is either dead or in jail. I've seen all them assholes get killed every year, at least 5, it's a short career. Like the lyrics from "Gangster Paradise","I'm twenty will I make it to twenty one". I almost feel sorry for them as none last very long.

Don't worry, they only kill each other not their clients. They never do Drive byes like in the states, they use "sicarios" to target very specific individuals in order to avoid collateral damage. Because if any of their tourisr base, truckers, get hurt they would loose a lot of money. So the area is actually protected from fights and robberies. I was the only fool to start a fight with a drug dealer, but that was me back then, not afraid of anybody, I'm older and wiser now. But it was those "cojones" which allowed me to accomplish what I have in La Mayorista, so I have no regrets.

I appreciate it when someone openly acknowledges my help to hundreds of newbies that have come through My Place in La Mayorista. Thanks HelpRules, it takes a lot of "cojones" just to speak out against these "internet bullies", they are relentless in their attacks. I already pushed the ignore button on them after reponding in an informative manner.

In the interest of fairness and balance why don't you tell your friends to "take time out to think and chill", in your own words. I don't know, but in my world, if I see 4-5 guys ganging up on one, my tendancy would be to defend the "one guy", not join the others in the beating.
