Beach Rock Resort - fan rooms start from 700 pesos. #502 9034
In Tag there is a nice place called B. Tropics Resort. No beach, but some nice pools. www.boholtropics.com

Agree with Tropics. Nice rooms, pools, no beach but it has a wharf that you can watch the sun go down.
The have a free computer with internet access in the lobby and free wifi in the lobby for your laptop.
The place is very close to the dock and they offer free transport.
As far as which fast ferry to take, I would just go to the dock and grab the next ferry that is leaving. The one time I went to bohol, the fast ferry I had planned on taking decided to close for the day, for no reason. (that's the P.I. for you). I just went next door and too the other ferry.
ps. X and G, you both have great info, but please take the zingers/ flames offline, it is a waste of time and space for 99 percent of us.

The wharf at Tropic was under construction in July. The problem with this place is the pools close at 6pm. I don't know how strict they are about it. They also have a disco on the premises.
I couldn't find my Alona Beach phone numbers.

Tropics - (pic 3-6)You can see from thre room pic that a big bed is just two twins pushed together. Big room, ocean view - about 3000 pesos.
Pics of signs - there are some cheap accomodations just off the beach.
Lost Horizon coffee sign, which lured me in for breakfast. Bstrds served me instant coffee.
BTW, Mr G. I liked your Gina pics on photo thread.

Bohol...
Thanks Xman. Hey,
I was able to get a room at the Isis. Standard bungalow. Looks fun.
So, I'm thinking I'm taking my girl from Cebu on Ocean Jet. I think it arrives at 11:10 if I take the 9:30 from Cebu. Then I might as well take a taxi directly to the Isis on Pangalo. And if it's too early to check in I guess we can do a tour from the hotel desk? And then come back later. And maybe go into Tag. At night?
Since we're just staying the one night and can leave anytime the next day, do you have any suggestions for an itinerary. I mean except the obvioius time in bed at night. Hahha.
Thanks

Taxi to the beach should be around 500. Going back they demand 600.
One day trip - just hang out on the beach. $Its a small beach, but you can find many points of interest just by walking around. Don't bother with choc hills on a one daytrip.
Oh, forgot to tell you that Isis does not hve street access. If you arent a manly man, you should call the hotel (upon arrival) and ask for a beach porter.Or just hire porters ... i prefer to work up a sweat, doing that by my self.

Another option is to go for a day trip to Baligcasad Island, about 30-45 mins away, on one of the dive boats. I am a diver but friends of mine are not divers, so they came with us, spent 3 hours on the boat, snorkling on the reef (lots of fish to see) and walking on the beach. Costs about 500 peso per person which includes snorkling gear, coffee and water. Take your own lunch. We went with Philippine Island divers and the south end of the beach, but just ask any dive shop if they are going to Baligcasad as they dont go every day. They usually leave around 9.30 and get back around 2.30. Try and organise it the night before if you get there in time, they close around 7pm. I have been on these boats many times and there have been other Filipinas waiting for their men to come out of the water.

It is BalicasaG Island (ends in G not D) and it is one of the best dive sites in all of the Philippines.
If you stay at Bohol Beach Club they offer their own boats for the quick trip across the channel. More expensive, but much quieter, than staying in Panglao.

San Juan - La Union
Gents,
I am going on a 10-day trip to Phil. This will be my 4th trip to PI.
I will be spending a couple of days in San Juan, La Union, surfing. While I have girls lined up from Cebu, Dumaguete, Manila (5 in all), none can go with me to San Juan.
I was wondering if there are good pick-up spots for girls in San Juan. My preference would be normal girls first, then semi-pro, and finally, working girls.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,
Just south of San Juan is San Fernando and an old USA Base called Poro Point some clubs and pros there, a few Kms south along the beach are a series of two star resorts with the usual mix of xpats including some retirees. Alway a few pick up chics around. Many visitors to this area get their girls in Angeles on the way up.
Had many good times in this area in the late 80's and early 90's.
I cannot comment on the surfing
San Fernando is a sizeable town, might be a few internet girls to you can set up with.
Have a great time.

Boracay Nights
It's already been about 8 years since my last visit to Boracay. Next december I'll be heading to the island-paradise again with 2 friends who will be there for their first time.
I remember those nights at Bazura discotheque (but that was way back in 1993) with loads of Filipinas looking for company. I told stories to my friends about my wild nights and they were very keen about going now. We have booked for the weekend of december 19-22 and hope to have a good time. But I heard that the local authoroties accomplished a complete ban recently on loud music and dance at night. I hope that this is a joke! Can anyone confirm this please?
Also, any advice which place to go for a great night out with lots of local chicas around? Is Cocomangas that good as they say? Any other nightclub ?
We like to dance, party, flirt and mongering.
After Boracay, we'll be heading to Subic Bay for another 3 nights and then on to Tacloban (for some reason). But since Boracay will be our first stop after our intercontinental flight, 'bring our own' is no option.
Thanks for all input bros.

Boracay
Hi asianatic.
I was on Boracay in March and July this year. I like it, because it is anyway quiet but fine for party too. Specially in July it was very quiet.
Cocomangos is still the place where you can have party and find a girl. I would say there were 30 to 40 girls around. It gets busy around 10. Across is another newer bar. Some girls move from one to another. At 1 am many girls move to Summer Place bar on the beach which is close to bootstation 2. Here you can find some more ladys. Some other bars are Hey Jude, Carlh's Bar, Bamboo Bar and the Wave Disco but wasnt in the Disco. Some of the places have live music. There I found 2 karaoke places where you can pick a girl. Virgin Place and Zwammpys. Just ask a Motodriver. There are also some FL around the beach. But also Ladyboys, be careful.
My opinion to Subic. If you stay in Angeles it is fine for some days. But when you come from Boracay you will be disappointed. I would recommend to stay this nights in Angeles for the real party. But that is just what I would do.
Have a good time,
Sam

Cagayan de Oro
The disco called Venue has been reviewed here in the past. Apparently it's for sale:
