Its not a binary choice: You can have your vanilla GF / wife this month, and your chocolate hookers when you vacation (errr -- so I've heard). And you can lather, rinse, repeat.

Its hubris, and I wondered if it had spread from the US to other places (of course it would); but was surprised when I saw it here, given the generally polite and submissive nature of people here.

I left Angeles this morning on the 7:30 P2 P for NAIA Terminal 3. I had a 12:15 flight to Leyte and my girl in Manila was meeting me at the airport. I arrived at NAIA at 9 am. Security thinks I have a lighter and told me they are not permitted. I told them joke's on them because it is actually a device for insect bites. My girl had brought Soju and of course that was rejected. I hate when countries copy the bullshit USA rules.
So we come into this small ass airport lounge where the AC is not working and sit until the screen shows our gate, which was boarding time. We leave out and walk to the last damn gate. There are a few passengers sitting around, but no workers and the flight was not on the sign. I told my girl that we had better make sure the gate had not changed. So I asked some people at the next gate to look it up for us. Well now we are not leaving until 2:23 pm because the plane is coming in late from Boracay.
Mind you, I am asking all the questions, but the lady is looking at my girl answering what I am asking. My girl got in her shit. She told her that she should be looking at and talking to me since I am the one asking the questions.
Same shit happened at a restaurant in Colombia a few weeks back with my girl there. But then it was me jumping in the waitress' ass. My girl there thought I was being rude. I said no, it is rude for a person to look at and talk to a person other than the one addressing them who is not even paying the fucking bill. She went on with this thing about the husband usually being busy, so they will address the wife because she knows how he likes things.
So anyway we have to walk all the way back to this hot ass lounge that has nothing but beef stew and warm sodas. The screen in the lounge still says 12:15. Then once we get to Leyte, there is a 4 hour ride, so it will be dark by the time we get where we are going. Day 1 wasted!

None of the seats recline. As a PSA, if you are age 60 or more, you can not reserve an exit row seat on either airline (the system won't allow it). You might get lucky with that by not reserving any seat, and taking your chance at the random seat assignment at check-in by asking for exit row preference. In my experience those exit row seats get pre-purchased weeks before flight date.
I think both airlines now offer online pre-purchase of a meal, about p250. Its a sandwich or wrap and a bottle of water.

Fit young UFC Champs get booted from the exit row by Frontier for having an accent and wearing funny hats. 😁.
It's surprising how airlines think sometimes. It's not always for ridiculous things. Sometimes they actually do people a solid. I flew Korean once and all parents with kids were herded together and upgraded. More room for the kids and no one is going to complain about the noise or crying. 😁.

My passport expires in August, I cannot buy in country airfare anymore, because it has less than 6 months validity as of yesterday. I taught it only applies to people entering the country, not the ones already in. Soon I have to book a flight to the US to renew it, I wander how that one will go, maybe I will be restricted to using american airlines only.

It is now 3 Feb in ther Philippines, so six months hence is 3 August.

I have till the end of August, that's more than six months, but apparently the AI on the apps and website calculates just by the month, and simply don't let you fill up the expiration date, and you can't continue, the error message is that you need a passport valid for at least 6 months. I only tried to book in country flights. There are lots of workarounds, but I considered this worthy of mentioning it in the stupid shit section.

Or maybe any picture ID.
Can't you renew your American passport in the Manila USA Embassy? Or USA Consulate office in Zcebu?
