I was just there over Thanksgiving (Hotel del Parque Classico), and they did not charge me a chica fee even though I expected them to do so. The bellhop on the first night told me that there was a COP 39,000 chica fee, but they did not charge me for either of two chica visits.

On the other hand, they charged me just a little bit more for night: 90,000 vs. your 88,000.

I do have my map of Bogota. I can tell you that Palacetes is on Calle 30 where it dead-ends into Carrera 19. When walking from the Convention Center and Museo Nacionale, it is the last house on the left before the dead-end. If a taxi going west on the Gaitan expressway exits to the north on Carrera 19, he goes two blocks before taking a right on Calle 30 (with Palacetes on the corner right). There is a goon sitting outside the buidling; otherwise the house looks like every other house in the neighborhood, with no sign of prostitution. Actually, it is a very interesting neighborhood, with some colorful and stylish homes. It is fun to walk there during the day, but I would not walk there at night.

A taxi driver showed me where it was.

I do watch a lot of porn, and I have seen about 200 working girls over the past 4 years. I can say that the young chica Sandra at Piscina del Dia was as pretty as any lady I have seen. Of course, you have to like the natural Latin look. The first thing to say about Hotel del Parque Clasico (Calle 24 No. 4 A-79) is that it is different from Hotel del Parque Superior, which is just around the corner. Hotel del Parque Classico, my hotel and the subject of this review, is 40% less expensive than the other hotel. They told me I would pay $43 per night, but the actual charge on my Master Card was $41 per night (this included eggs, bread, and coffee at breakfast).

The hotel and room were very clean, and I liked the shiny hardwood floors. I had a nice view, with big windows, of a few city blocks that rose into the foothills of the mountains to the West of the city. On my first day I complained about the shower, which gave off a single powerful stream of water instead of, well, a shower. The maintenance man found a true shower head and installed it later in the day, but I was somewhat embarrassed to learn later at various *****houses that the single hard stream of water is totally typical of Bogota plumbing. It took the water about 5 minutes to get hot on the seventh floor.

I seemed to be the only gringo in the hotel during my 5-night stay, but I saw some Europeans in the restaurant. One older man in management of the hotel spoke basic English, and Erica Gomez, often at the front desk during the days, had some knowledge of English. I liked it that way.

The hotel Wi-Fi worked consistently in the restaurant and lobby of the hotel, but inconsistently with a weak signal in my 7th floor room (it seemed to work best in the wee hours of the morning).

The bellboys and one of the waiters in the restaurant seemed to have a special interest in my sexual satisfaction. A bellboy started me out on my first night by promising me a lady “muy bonita” for 130,000 pesos, with a 39,000 peso fee going to the hotel. This amounted to about $77, which I declined. I always like to see the lady in advance. The price quoted by the waiter in the restaurant was 100,000 pesos by the end of the stay at the hotel.

Two chicas did visit me at the hotel for 1 to 2 hours each. I had met them at clubs. The person on duty at the main desk simply called me when they arrived and asked if it was OK for the chicas to come up to my room. I liked that system, where I did not have to be in the lobby with the families while the puta signed on the dotted line. I am shy. I was surprised that the hotel did not charge me a chica fee after the bellhop had told me that a chica fee would be required. Go figure.

I was able to keep lots of fruit in the mini-frig. It became somewhat cold at night, but the multiple wool covers get me adequately warm (just barely). The restaurant and room service were priced a bit higher than the typical restaurant, and the food was acceptable (nothing great but tasty).

I would have stayed at either Suites Real, but all the rooms there were booked in advance for the long weekend. On balance, I ended up liking my little hotel and its location within walking distance of the Museo Nacionale, Plaza Bolivar, and the many *****houses in and around Santa Fe. The Parque across the street really is attractive, but I urge you to stay on the main paths to avoid evil-looking ones.

Bottom line: This hotel was inexpensive and supportive of my hobby. Indeed, there was a fine big mirror on one side of the bed. That is what I want.

As it happens somehow often to me, my experience is not completely aligned to the majority of reports archived. Therefore, I thought to add my 5 cents of information. Note: I am Italian, I can speak some survival Spanish. This helps a lot in Colombia.

IS BOGOTA DANGEROUS?

Yes, caution must be exercised, but we do not have to be paranoid! I walked alone night and day also in Santa Fe, and nothing happened to me. At night, Av. Caracas is more dangerous than SF, actually, because there is nobody, while in SF there is people around.

Being prudent, while walking at night in SF, means:

- stay with people, if possible
- walk fast
- hide yourself, try to look a local. if you look "gringo", I would avoid to walk there at night without a destination.

Take a taxi, if you go to a club or back to the hotel (but doing so you'll miss SWs).
At daytime, I consider SF really OK. No problems at all.

I would also leave all credit cards and passport in the hotel, just in case of being robbered.

CLUBS

I sampled El Castillo one night. Nothing special, in my opinion. Nice girls, kind and professional doorman, but I was not very excited about what I found. I moved away to another club I think we can have better options.

HIGH-END CLUBS

I think that clubs in the North area (cr.93, ..., 85, etc) are overestimated in reports. Overpriced too.

Converesely, I found a very good club, suggested by two independent taxy drivers, expensive but worth. The name is something like Lorinai, or Lorimai. It is close to the university, cl.49 and cr.13. (pls check may be not exact). All taxi drivers should know it, I think.

Very beautiful and elegant girls, higher prices but really worth, good and clean rooms.

I did not read about it in these reports. It is a pity nobody knows it in this forum! I recommend it.

LOW-END CLUBS

If you like to be brave and have fun in low-end places (like me), then SantaFe is your place.

Plenty of clubs. Note that the *lower average quality* means that you'll find ugly, old girls AND real gems, all mixed together (lower average, higher variance, if you know about statistics).

No foreign tourists here! Spanish is a must.

Part of the fun is hunting, no? you need to explore and dig, then you find gems.
Clubs are not all in one street, so to move around you need to walk in a radius of maybe 400 meters. Therefore, be cautious at night. Look around and walk fast, straight to your destination.

Start from Av. 19, west of Caracas, and move North, up to cl.23,25 (?), where there is El Castillo.

Right time is after 7pm (if you want no people yet, all girls ready and wating for you) until 2am, 3am or so, if you like crowded places.

I sampled many, entering and exiting several times, until I found what I liked. Drinks (and girls) are cheap, however, so bar hopping does not make much damage.
I have a special memory of El Coche Rojo, smallest place where I found only 4 girls working at 7pm, but 2-3 of them were outstanding! Very young and sexy. And cheap! (30k / 20mins).

Actually, I found there the most beautiful girl I ever met in Bogota! Petite morenita. I wonder if she's still there or she moved. She told me she was 19, I wonder if it is true.

I had fun at Paisa, one of the most crowded places (I guess specific for people of Medellin). Many girls, some really beautiful.

I went two times to "Atunes" (this name is wrong, sorry I cannot remember the right word, but it looks like this, written in some hand-written-like characters), at the end of a street with 5-6 other clubs (one is Venus, probably) all close together. The first time, it was good. The second time, a girl tried to robber me ordering a bottle of champaign after having sit to my table (!). I left immediately.
I think girls move a lot around, so I would suggest to enter and exit many clubs, before stopping. In all places, expect to see a wide spectrum of girls types, considering age, size, beauty, etc., changing day by day.

STREET ACTION

At day, you'll find a lot of girls in SantaFe and east of Caracas, cr. 13 south of av.19 (cl 19-17 or so).

Avoid cr.13 north of av.19 (cl 20-21). Ugly and old women.

As for low-end clubs, expect to see ANYTHING. Youngest and oldest, ugly and beautiful, good and bad attitude. Some girls come for one day then disappear.
Gems are rare, but prices are very cheap (even 15k, never pay more than 30k). I found real surprises : - ) I never saw them the next time.

Spanish is a must.

At night, lots of girls as well, but be cautious walking around or simply avoid it.
Note: girls may take you in "hotels" where rooms are frankly horrible, even stinky. Be prepared, or do not go.

Actually, you'll find two doors. Many people outside. Many (kind) guys trying to push you inside. They are two competitor clubs!

Lorinai is the one to the right. The taxi driver told me that the one to the left has same quality. I did not try.

SORRY, I dont remember how much is the rate I payed, but I would say something in range 100k-200k (1 hour). Girls are mostly elegant and very beautiful, better than in El Castillo.

Actually, one thing I understood in my visit in Bogota: each place may give a different impression if visited multiple times. Girls rotate a lot.

When I visited "Lorinai", I found more than 15 girls, 90% of them outstanding, if compared to what I saw in El Castillo.

Just returned from a very satisfactory experience with "Vicky" at Abado Massage, Carrera 15 # 116-59, apt 203, Tel 637 6627. The price has gone up to 60k for full service.

Vicky is the first service provider I've found who actually knows how to give a proper massage, and seems to enjoy it as well. She's scrupulously hygenic, but doesn't let it interfere with the experience. No rush, no fuss. She will charge more, apparently, for kissing or daty, and she has some very kissable lips, but I passed.

The place across the passageway is just an extension of Abado's: I've had service there too.

TWO taxi drivers told me about that place, 4 weeks one after the other.
In both cases, I understood a name like "lorinai".

My Spanish is not so bad to understand "lorinai" instead of "la 49", so I really do not understand. Maybe a nickname? sorry for having given an incomplete information.

About the experience, I agree that they are priced high. That night, actually, the girl level looked to me pretty high (definitely higher than what I saw in my unique experience in El Castillo).

However, these numbers are too small to be statistically significant: 2 test in Lorinai/Wiskeria and 1 in El Castillo.

Should I give a suggestion to a friend, I would say to go to have a look in several low-level clubs in Santa Fe, before anything. Finding a pearl among dozens of old and sleazy ones on the streets is priceless! It happened to me every time I tried, but I walked around at least 1 hour before being lucky.
