I visited Deluxe Beauty Therapy at 300 Bell Street, Heidelberg West recently. It is also known as Tran's Hair Salon and Beauty Therapy. Its telephone number is 03 9442 2729 or 0411 249 888. It is open seven days a week from 10am to 9pm. It is mainly staffed by Vietnamese massage ladies. This shop has been around for at least the past several years. I can remember when the manager of the shop was an older Vietnamese lady. She was a lovely person and she often helped out doing the massages when it was busy. She wore (what were to me) surprisingly beautiful clothes at her work and we would talk about them while she massaged me. She doesn't seem to be there any more and there is a other woman managing the shop now. The character of the shop has changed since then. I'm not sure it's quite as friendly and relaxed as it was in the past. Nevertheless I would strongly recommend this shop to members. The massage I received at my most recent visit was okay (probably 6 out of 10) and my massage lady was very attractive (probably 8 out of 10). The price of a relaxation massage was $65 for an hour. The massage rooms are really dark and the rooms have showers.

I also recently visited Beauty Massage at 204 Bell Street, Heidelberg West. Its telephone number 03 9459 0603 or 0469 652 199. It is open seven days a week from 10am to 9pm. It is also mainly staffed by Vietnamese massage ladies. This is a new shop which opened about six months ago. The shop is managed by an older Vietnamese woman and she seems to do a good job. I would recommend this shop to members. The massage I received at my most recent visit was excellent (probably 8 out of 10) and my massage lady was attractive (probably 7 out of 10). The price of a relaxation massage was $65 for an hour. The massage rooms are quite large. The tables are good quality and comfortable. The atmosphere in the shop is really good: candles, freshly painted, fragrant oils and good quality ambient music.

In both shops there are prominent signs at the entrance and in the massage rooms that only non-sexual services are provided. In the shop at 204 Bell Street there are signs that ask you to not remove your underwear.

If I had to choose between the two shops, I would choose the shop at 204 Bell Street. Its more like a day spa than just somewhere to get a massage. But like in many things, it really depends on what you're after. I am looking forward to visiting this shop again in the future.

This almost goes without saying, but for someone who has not had many massages in the past, I would suggest that you ask for an hour massage rather than a half hour service. Most places provide you with about five minutes at the beginning to undress and then five to get dressed again. Twenty or so minutes to me is quite unsatisfactory. I know that money is sometimes tight but it is better in my opinion to not waste money on a massage which is rushed.
