SAN JUAN PR Need Numbers.

I am going to San Juan on Wednesday for 6 days. I know this is the SD board, but it is active and I am sure a lot of you go there also. There are no posts on the PR board.

Anybody got any good numbers for chicas or body rubs? I found the sites with pros and agencys but I would like an independant or a non pro who needs extra money.

Carry a copy if it make you feel good but no good reason to carry real thing. You can get stopp day or night. Night is when you need to drive, better to avoid taxis at publicos at night. Most important is have a good idea of where the fuck you are going. Things get complicated if you get lost because not too many people here know the streets outside they neighborhood.

and to the original poster, i believe that the discussion here about what you call "sousa" stemmed originally from discussions concerning whether santo domingo or sosua would be the best place for a sex vacation for someone who had never visited the dominican republic before and who might not speak spanish. so if you read the whole forum, you might get more up to speed with the discussion topics. and as tempoecorto suggests, if you are interested in visiting the dominican republic, you would benefit from reading new posts on any or all of the dr forums.

i stayed at the hotel barcelo santo domingo (formerly called the hotel lina). wifi is free for club premium rooms. no problem picking up two barcelo wifi siganls with my laptop on the 9th floor (lounge and my room were on the 9th floor). i have stayed at other places where the wifi signal was difficult to pick up. for that reason i bought a rosewill usb wireless adapter and tried it out in the barcelo hotel. wifi signal signal strength went from good to excellent with the rosewill usb wifi adpater. internet speed appeared to stay the same. i bought the rosewill usb adapter at newegg, on sale for around $10-$15us, [url]http://www.newegg.com/product/productlist.aspx?submit=ene&n=100010074[/url]%20600014288&isnodeid=1&name=usb%202. 0.

the nebo redline flashlight uses 3 aaa batteries and puts out 220 lumens of light, bright little flashlight. nice to have a flashlight in the hotel room, to look for stuff in the luggage and to check the room before checking out (not to leave anything behind in the hotel room, under the bed, in the closet or in the drawers, plus for reading certain things it can come in handy with a $4us pair of reading glasses). i bought the flashlight on sale at newegg, [url]http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=09g-0005-00014[/url]

I looked into going to Colombia. Airfare and travel time from New York were more than double compared to the Dominican Republic. I paid $336US total price, round-trip airfare, non-stop flight, new york to santo domingo and in santo domingo I stayed at a newly refurbished hotel for $85 per night with free drinks, free food, large pool, free wifi and friends where able to visit the hotel, no extra charge. Colombia airfares were over $600US with stops, travel time over 6 hours. New York to Santo Domingo is about 3 hours and 15 minutes.

I took taxis my first two days in DR. An old Dominican taxi driver, I got into his taxi in the Zona Colonial near hard rock cafe one night, tried to charge me 400 pesos (about $10US) for a 5 minute taxi ride to hotel melia (fare should have been around 150 pesos appx. $4US). I told the old, foolish Dominican taxi driver, I was not going to pay 400 pesos. I told him to call the police. The thieving, old Dominican taxi driver insisted that 400 pesos was an honest fare (11pm at night, no traffic, it was a 5 minute ride). I gave him 200 pesos and that was all he got from me. But it pissed me off and I walked from the Hotel Melia to the Hotel Barcelo Santo Domingo, took me about 30 minutes at 11pm. After that I said no more taxis, I will drive the rental car, which is what I did for the next five days and I drank no alcohol the remainder of the trip. Drinking bottled water in bars and venues saves me money as well.

I got 38. 55 pesos per dollar a couple of weeks ago and 38. 75 per dollar at Franks in el Conde a couple of hours later.

I arrived at the Las Americas Airport (SDQ, Santo Domingo) , Sunday afternoon and wanted a new SIM card with a new cell phone number. I went to the second floor of the airport to the larger Claro store and was informed that a new SIM could be purchased using US dollars, cost was $5US with 100 pesos (appx. $2. 63US) in minutes included in that rate. I showed my passport, gave the Claro chica a US $5 dollar bill and my new SIM card was in my cell phone and I was out of the Claro store in 10 minutes.

Another ISG member bought a SIM card (with a DR phone number) at the Claro shop on El Conde (near duarte, near hotel palacio and near hotel mercure). Cost of the SIM card at the el conde Claro store was 150 pesos, with 100 pesos in minutes included, it took less than ten minutes to purchase the SIM card at that location.

At the Las Americas Airport, (SDQ) , Santo Domingo, there is a new Orange store on the ground floor near the exit, next door to a Pizzarelli restaurant. Also there is a smaller Claro and Viva shop on the ground floor. I have sat at the tables near the exit and the Pizzarelli restaurant and connected to the internet wireless (wifi) for free at the las americas airport, santo domingo.

Pizzarelli has a combo meal at the airport, lasagna, two pieces of bread and a soda for 250 pesos (taxes included). Cost of food, soda and water is more expensive once you go through security, when you are departing the country (2nd floor of the airport). Outside on the second floor of the airport, they are installing new granite tiles on the exterior walls, looks nice.

Popolar bank has a branch there. Like Bro pointed out it closes by 5.

At least to my experience. Correction, never been to Timbucktoo!

To me, while some people are generous with their time to answer others' dumb questions, it is just a sign that a bunch of people are waiting to be spoon-fed.

I was just at the same shop, picked up the same deal and I also got the 3 day internet package 3g on my phone for 192 pesos. 3days / 350MB, so no need for wifi spots and handy for navigation. You could probbaly find out yourself how to activate this, but the girl at Claro was very helpfull and had it setup for me very rapidly.

good speed? good coverage? easy to use with a smart phone? you can add more days online at claro's website with a bank or debit card?
