Having written that, if the Feds have a grand jury return an indictment, it's all over but the shouting. As Dandy Don Meredith use to say,"turn out the lights, the party is over." he will be convicted and will go to prison. He's working on a deal to allow him to serve half of his sentence in Germany.
I just wonder if the said "kiddie porn" is like, you know, [B]kiddie porn[/B], as in depicting sex acts with non-consenting obvious minors or if it was naked pictures of females below the age of consent in the jurisdiction involved, or something more along those lines.
If the former, obviously crucify, but if the latter, US cultural standards are stricter than most, and he's not from the US. I question if the US should apply extraterritoriality to non-citizens. I have no problem with applying it to citizens.
In [b]either [/b] case, it could be (even more) prudent to carefully review our laptops, saved e-mails, memory sticks and so forth prior to entering or even transiting through the USA, in case some angry ex-lover accidentally planted something or sent us something we forgot about.
