Amusing, and possibly true. Are we talking about the price of a man's hair cut at a top salon, or a woman's cut & style? Maybe that is where River Palace and Night Flight prices come from?
An interesting and potentially relevant sidebar - on a recent mongering trip to Haiti, almost the only commercial service I saw operating in devastating areas were hair salons. You could drive a 1/2 hour without seeing a gas station or grocery store, but it always seemed there was a sign for a hair salon or beauty parlour. This in a country where people are desperately poor and always have been! Maybe they were all cover for brothels, multipling the price list by 10?
