Took a trip down to Rio Branco area yesterday (8/31) to check out some of the prives. .
1) Oriente VIP@Rua Presidente Vargas. 590 #817 = knocked & buzzed their door at 2:30pm, no one answered.

I will begin with the good news. I got back to US yesterday because my Grad school semester started today. Cards Summary:
Upon arriving back to US, I called each card company and discussed each fraudulent transaction.
1- Am ex credit card: 3 transactions ($14 + $63 + $96) = $173 stolen = got full refund.
2- Chase debit 1:1 transaction ($113) stolen = got full refund.
3- Chase debit 2:1 transaction ($214) stolen = got full refund.
4- Citi debit: 3 transactions ($31 + $113 + $124) = $ 268 stolen = got full refund.
American express agent told me that the craving balcony puta tried to use the blocked am ex credit card at least 15 times after it was blocked. Chase told me that their card was even tried at ATM for cash withdraw few times. Citi had the same narrative about the ***** tried abusing their card after it was blocked too. I have been mongering for the last six years and this working girl just broke the robbery record in my mongering history. The worst I was hit was when sexy stripper stole my $700 Sony note book from my apt in the US as I was in the bathroom.
Apart from mongering, Brazilian garotas won this battle hands down too. Currently, in my mongering history, this balcony puta holds a record of robbing me of $2503, out of which $768 was credited back of my card accounts. I preview to go back to Rio, and I think I'm not alone to have not do everything I would want the first time, because we "discover"
I have read many reports, and I have 2/3 questions to be sure the next time.
My questions is for those who like to go on Termas and like have relation at the exterior of the Termas with the girl and have many experiences of Rio.
First, it's not difficult to take cell numbers of girls in the Termas, I propose they give, or sometimes they propose to me.
BUT! Because there is a "BUT" (not a butt) We know the most famous termas (MC. 4x4, Luomo.) ask at girls to do many work hours in the week and if they don't do they lost her job. So they are not available.

2nd questions : Others good termas no more strict as famous Termas with girls?

Let this be a learning experience for you. For someone smart enough to get into grad school, you need to develop some street smarts. NEVER leave your cash or credit cards anywhere that a garota can have access to them. Putting $2000 in a sock is just plain dumb. That's the first place a potential thief will look. I have read on this forum of thieves holding up someone at gunpoint and ordering him to take off his shoes and socks. They know where gringos hide things.
When I was a newbie, many years ago, I was pickpocketed by a garota I was negotiating with on Av. Atlantica. She didn't get much money, but I learned a valuable lesson from it: NEVER carry cash in your pocket, except maybe for some small bills you might need to have at your disposal. Also, never leave anything unlocked in your hotel room / apartment.
If you observe 3 cardinal rules (maybe other posters can think of more) , you should be pretty much theft-proof:
1. When you are on the street, ALWAYS use a money belt. I use one that I hang around my neck and tuck inside my shirt. There are also belts that go around your waist or around your ankle (not recommended). The only way I could be robbed is if I were held up at gunpoint (not likely if I avoid being alone on dark or obscure locations).
2. In your hotel room / apartment, ALWAYS lock up your cash and cards, either in a safe or in your suitcase, and make sure the garota doesn't see where you put the key. Better yet, use a combination lock.
3. NEVER accept a drink from a garota. If she drugs you, this negates the first two rules as it gives her ample time to search your person and / or break into a suitcase.
I could also add a fourth rule: if you are staying in an apartment that has a two-sided lock, lock the door from the inside and hide the key. That way, even if she drugs you, she won't be able to get out and will still be there when you come to.
I am assuming that you are somewhat of a newbie, and as newbies we all made mistakes. Your mistakes turned out to be very costly. Here's hoping you learned from them.
