Nearly 84% are drinkers and 41% regular. I just read an article about that. Well since the mood here is so somber, I will lighten up by sharing some pics of a Sosua regular (hangs around NG, TL and Classicos) who I thought was pretty attractive and some from Classicos. I was there during Thanksgiving and yes it was slow during the day but evenings were normal. Looks like it has deteriorated a lot now. Just when I started liking to go there. Oh well.

I was planning on another visit to Sosua late Jan. Is it worth going anymore? I'm reading current posts but can't really tell if its worth the trip anymore. Been about 6 times and NEED another trip. Someone please give me an answer.

Even if Sosua is dead (still awaiting conformation on this) you still have other parts of the island to explore (PP, Santiago, etc.).

If anything you can move your game online. Given the current situation with Sosua I am positive that there are a lot of "ex-pros" now marketing themselves as "non-pros" for the gringo that doesn't know any better, LOL.

Colombia has RomanceLatina. The DR has Dominican Cupid.

Sosúa is (was?) paradise on earth for mongers. Sea, sex and sun. Each time was there I was happy and I was not the happiest. When I read this board, I often say that I'm to "shy" when I'm up there. From our point of view, I think things won't be the same for a while. But I won't blame anyone for that. But I would miss not to be happy again but I don't mind to share the village with regular tourists if I still can find sweet chicas.

It really is an apples to apples comparison. They treat Amsterdam like many Americans treat Sousa or worse. The dutch hate them there.

The Airforce guys were smart enough to get out of our way. Once we had to share a club with some British Sailors. Everyting was okay till those British sailors got drunk. Then the anti American and racial insults came forward. In the USN getting drunk and fist fighting was expected, but the next day we were working right besides the same marines we were fighting the night before, it was just young guys having fun. But those British sailors had a different type of anger. It was as if we were enemy no 1, not their closest ally.

Also guys talk about the young Americans in Sosua. People say they act like rap stars, throw money in the club, and fuck all the girls. But no one can ever say they saw them in a fight. I've seen Dominicans knife fight, I've seen two Italians beat the crap out of each other, and I've seen girls fight. When do the Americans that everyone has a problem with fight? Five years in Sosua and not one major incident. The bottom line is some people just don't like Americans especially the young variety. The young guys have a different SOP (standard operating proceedure) than older guys that we don't fully understand, but when the older guys were young guys people thought they were different also. But I'm not buying that that different behaviour translates to violence.

Reading with great amusement of guys thinking about changing their vacation plans, because of what's going on in Sousa.

I mean if "anywhere" you go is based on how much cheap sex you can find, I think your doing something wrong.

I'm booked for a month in April 2011, was there for 3 weeks in 2009, and had a great time.

Didn't take anyone out of the Classico's or the other bars, but met one from SD, that came up to see me who I had met online and set up before I got there.

The other two, I met thru a taxi driver while I was visiting his home, the other one worked at that little place they sell lotto tickets, in one of the neighborhoods.

Can't say that I am a monger like the majority, I plan my vacations off season, and prefer a good book on the beach in the daytime, and occasionally a dinner partner a night, usually in my condo with sex not the being the first thing we do once were there.

My spanish is improving so I look forward to this vacation being just as enjoyable as my first one, which was my first visit to Sousa and the DR.

Good beaches, good stores, the condo I rent is nice.

Women will be always available where ever you go.

My most important criteria is already in place before I get to where ever I'm going.

NO WORK FOR 1 MONTH. 1.

My plans are not changing.

[/QUOTE]I'll be the first to admit that I thought nothing of the DR until I found out about Blackbeard's in PP and Sosua. It's amazing how much significance the country (now) has to me when viewing a world map. It's as almost as if it didn't exist on it at first, LOL. Same can be said for BR, COL, CR, etc. I guess what I am trying to say is that when I first started my research a few years ago, the first thing I typed into the search engine was NOT to find out how beautiful the beaches are.

But seriously, either the people going there now (post Dec. 3rd) are having way too much fun and are keeping it a secret from the boards (us) , or people are there and having a crappy time and don't want to tell us how much their trip sucked (embarrassed) ; or it could be that no one is there and therefore no one can say what is actually going on.

If you notice, the "rock'and rolll'in good tyme" reports kinda trailed off after Dec. 3rd. Now it's anyone's guess as to what is going on there.

I plan to go to places where I will not be harassed by law enforcement, nor will my chicas. Everyone goes for different reasons, but to see humor in people that don't want to return to Sosua fails to get the point. I would go to 1000 other places first to spend my days of "vacation", it just doesn't stack up against hardly ANY beach resort town ANYWHERE.

If you are going to meet and spend time with women at night. There are literally 1000 other places better as well. You can meet all kinds of chicas in D. R. Discos far and wide that are not so hard core as the Sosua girls. The ones that are left are the one's EMBEDDED in the Chulo / Drug / P4P culture.

For many years, these young girls were bonking 50+ year old ex-pats so their husbands and boyfriends had NOTHING TO FEAR. Recently (past 1 1/2 years) they've seen these nice looking darker skinned well groomed NBA star looking guys roll in with money and big hard dicks pleasuring their women. It's a different ball game for the Dominicanos now, they harbor lot's of jealousy of these similar looking guys that have everything they have to offer AND a VISA and MONEY.

THAT is what a LOT of the violence is about, but among Dominicanos.
