1. The reduction in oil demand will destroy the economies of Russia and the middle east. No military presence in the middle east. Let China and India look after that. In the last 30 years $7 t dollars has been spent on the military in the middle east, enough to buy every American family a Tesla. $7 trillion also buys a lot of infrastructure.

2. Electric cars are easy to automate. The cost of car accidents to the US economy is $500 b a year. Even if this was reduced by half it represents a major saving to consumers. The automation can also be used to better manage traffic in automatically working with traffic management for route selection and speed management.

3. Provide better health outcomes buy reducing pollution in cities.

4. Provide better environmental outcomes in.

3. Environmental costs would be reduced as much less drilling, transportation and storage of hydrocarbons is required. It is estimated that the cost of decommissioning abandoned wells in the US is over $1 trillion. One of those hidden subsidies the industry gets along with the cleanup of supersites from storage facilities, leaky tanks in gas stations etc. If the oil industry had to pay for all these costs with fuel surcharges they would be screaming.

4. Improved grid management in that the vehicle batteries would provide a huge storage capacity for the grid. Cars will be able to manage their charging cycles to keep the grid functioning at maximum capacity when charging when the price is low and when peak demand hits and prices rise they can feed energy back to the grid. The car could be earning money just parked for its 17 hrs per day.

5. 60% of new electricity generation being built currently is renewable energy. That is due to its cost / ROI. But I am happy for it to go to 100% which is likely once the increased gas prices hit peoples electricity bills.

Climate will benefit but there is more than enough justification to push full stream ahead with renewable energy and electric vehicles based on the peripheral factors.

I'm happy for Biden to give DINO Joe his Virginia pipeline. They can included in the BBB legislation. Of far more importance is the electric charging station rollout that the insightful Joe Biden is pushing for so that future oil shocks will impact the recalcitrant driving their ICE cars.
