I probably spent close to 2000 RMB.
It has great amenities, but I probably wasn't too impressed with the lineup.

I have been to SH a couple of time in the past couple of months and was pleased to still find a thriving BBS scene compared with Guangdong where there are very few BBS areas left. This week an old friend and former esteemed member of this forum took me on a tour of one area. Although not in full swing (maybe a recent crackdown) , there were still 10-15 shops open with 3-5 girls in each. I would say that the overall quality was mediocre at best but it was a thrill for me to be able to prance through the area, stick my head in the doors, walk in and joke with the girls and make my selection just like the old days. I ended up with a Dongbei girl that I took back to my hotel for 300RMB ST; onsite was quoted at 200 RMB, but I reckon 150RMB for locals and mongering veterans. The service was standard for a BBS girl, but the BBBJ was longer than expected and she did not complain when I asked for more. The only downside was a probable yeast infection or lack of hygiene which led to a slightly stinky snatch. DATY was out of the question.
You guys are lucky in SH to have these BBS options. They brought back fond memories of days gone by where I reside.

I've got my sights on a Sauna like Pattaya and Sacrosanct but had a couple of concerns. Don't want to get all that way to be refused entry at the door.
Firstly, how foreigner friendly are they? Should I expect racism (I'm of South Asian descent but usually get mistaken for Turkish or Italian). Secondly, having a physical impairment (does not affect walking, talking, mind, dick) going to cause problems either? My most recent experiences in walk-in places in BKK are all positive and walk-in places in Malaysia as well. But I'm guessing China's a bit different? Or is it all in my mind?
I also thought I'd like to try my luck at Malones where I heard older filipinas hang out. But my last experience at a bar in Singapore (OT) was total waste of time as the ladies just stayed away from me. So any thoughts on Malones? I'd like to give it a go and happy for it to be unsuccesful just for the experience. Another one of those unknown unknowns to quote the great Donald Rumsfeld. LOL.
I see that a lot of the private / high-end WL's are usually after white guys with money so I'm happy to avoid them but don't want to waste my time. Of course a report at the end of the trip will be forthcoming.

I have not seen anything else that would make me think Turk / italians would have a problem. I don't know the type of impairment but I am sure you can try the saunas. If they don't work out for you go to Manhattans or Judy's. They are both 2-3 blocks from Malones. Others have had luck at Malones, but from what I have seen there are 10X more girls at manhattans and 3-5 times more (than Malones) at Judy's. Just look out for the ladyboys at judys. They are pretty obvious however.
I have seen some small filipas walk out of Manhattan's with some guys of all shapes, sizes and ages............. I am sure you will be fine.

First there is a rumor that black guys have very big dick, and you can imagine, if some girls refused sex with foreigners because of the "big-dick-syndrom", how afraid they must be because of the bigger black ones? Second Chinese people think white skin is most beautiful, so for them black one is opposite from beautiful. But I also know some Chinese girls have black boyfriends, so over all it is a hit and miss. I can tell you, in Manhattan and Judy`s you will not get any problems (because the viet girls there don`t have that problem) , and also in the Sauna clubs they definitly will not refuse you on the door or anywhere else. You can not be sure, if the girl is happy, when you choose her, but I am sure you will not be refused, and if you are nice and gentle to her, you will not get a problem with the girl, I guess. So try out this bars or some sauna places, than you will definitly enjoy!

If you are mistaken for Arab or Turk then it should not be an issue but I have seen a very black American guy refused service at one of the upscale places. The Filipinas at Manhattan and Judy's won't care.

1) No, not all girls do takeaway. It seemed to be a shop by shop policy.
2) It has been my experience that 100RMB is the standard extra but sometimes I have been quoted 400RMB. I paid her 30 RMB return taxi fare.
3) In this case, she was not wearing a cocktail dress so change was not needed. In the past, I noticed they did change.
4) I am a laowai living in China a long time. My Mandarin is OK, especially in a mongering context.
5) She took a "quick" shower before and after (this is not always my experience) but it did not seem to make a big difference with the stinky snatch.
Pricing: I have to admit that I have not been able to get the local pricing in Shanghai BBS for ages. Most local pricing I believe is 150 RMB in-house, probably 200 RMB takeaway. Some proprietors quote close to this pricing for me and those seem to be the ones I patronize. I do not like paying the laowai surcharge but there is not much I can do about it these days.
