- that the USA and UK entered the war to help save Europe and protect the Jews.

- that the USA entering the war was the deciding factor.
- that the nuclear bombing of Japan was necessary and not simply a strategic move to prevent Russian influence in the region.

Except after a few months, it looks like they don't confer immunity after all (it was time for the CDC to change the definition of the word "vaccine".

Not only that turns out they didn't prevent transmission anyway vaccine mandates were pointless. It turned out later they weren't even tested for that.

And if that wasn't enough, after the smoke cleared (and the pandemic was largely over anyway), excess mortality rates accelerated globally, including instances of myocardis and strokes in young children and middle aged people who were in the prime of their lives.

For the next year, athletes and on-air personalities were dropping like flies on live TV nothing to see here.

Further, this new plateau of "suddenly and unexpected" didn't coincide with the pandemic, perhaps it was climate change? Video games? Nobody could know for sure (but it did match bang-on with the deployment of the vaccines).

And I think people forget how bad this really was particularly for Colombia. I was with a Colombian in Mexico when the travel ban hit. She literally got the last flight back into Colombia. For two weeks, she had to isolate, and the Colombian government was actively checking up on her. By the end of that two weeks, she was literally going out of her mind, and I got it. Even the short stint that I had of isolation in the USA in the keep under the curve fiasco made me depressed. I just think people want to forget, which may be better mentally health wise, how fucking awful this Covid fiasco really was.
