Had a great FS massage in my room last time I stayed at this hotel. Great warm up for the AFF date I had lined up for later the same day :-)
BTW, speaking of Hotel Travel, has anyone stayed there? Looks like a legit business hotel, and would be a convenient place to stay...

I was with another monger, who was looking for a room, and we checked out one of their rooms. Looked okay, but I don't think any of them at HT are anything special. No views, certainly.
Stayed at the Mercure in Kota- thought I would post an update since it's a popular monger hotel.
Pros-
- $40 a night room rate
- no hassles bringing girls back to the hotel.
- close proximity to all the Kota attractions- Lokasari Plaza, Hotel Travel, Kartika, etc.
- nice pool and a decent massage at the spa.
Cons-
- major construction going on now- they are adding two new elevators, and meanwhile everyone has to share the two existing lifts.
BTW, speaking of Hotel Travel, has anyone stayed there? Looks like a legit business hotel, and would be a convenient place to stay...

Gran Mahakam (www.granmahakam.com) is a 4 star hotel in south Jakarta managed by Sofitel.
It’s very close to Blok M and CJ’s, about 45 minutes from the airport and about the same from Kartika and Stadium, add another 10 minutes to get to Alexis hotel.
There’s a roof top pool, small but nice and verdant. My room, a deluxe, was very clean although not particularly spacious.
I once took a girl in around 2am: the staff checked her handbag and had her pass through the metal detector, but didn’t ask for ID.
Booked it through booking.com
Thank you all for the feedback- I think since my main reason for going is to monger, I'm better off staying at one of the other hotels right by Blok M or Kota. I am a member of Priority Club, but only Gold, not top tier- and I seem to remember the last time I booked and paid through Asia Travel, I didn't get any Priority Club points.
Asia Travel has been known as a scam for years. They claim to offer discounts but you are better off booking directly at the hotel of your choice. Cheaper for you and the hotel makes more money (and is therefor happier with you as a client); go figure.

Ko
For those who want points, the Crowne Plaza, Intercontinental and maybe other properties in Jakarta are going on sale, starting on Aug 17th. You probably have to book on the www.priorityclub.com site. $50 for the CP, $78 for the IC. I'm not sure if this includes taxes or not. Only available for 4 days.
I've booked the IC through local travel agents, and by notifiying the hotel before checking in, I got full benefits and points.
The rates were not initially loaded in, so I had to contact the hotel. The cheapest pricing is on the weekends, $48++ at the Crowne Plaza, and $78++ at the Intercontinental. This sale ends August 21st. You can book online www.ihg.com/asiasale
I had some free nights scheduled at the CP, so added on some more. While not dirt cheap, these are pretty good. And you get full PC benefits and upgrades while you're there.
The Holiday Inn in Bandung, plus hotels in KL and SIN are also on sale.

Regards,
Ko
Actually, it's always worth checking Asia Travel and the other discount sites, even if you book directly with the hotel, because Intercontinental "price matches" Asia Travel if it is cheaper, plus an additional 10% discount. I've gotten ~40% off the lowest direct price from Crowne Plaza by doing this double check, and submitting a low price guarantee form.

[blue]Greetings Everyone,
I recently cleaned up this thread by deleting a number of off-topic and otherwise pointless posts, as well as a number responses made by other forum members to these deleted posts.
This cleanup process is not perfect, and it's possible that I may have inadvertently deleted a few otherwise legitimate posts. If you find that your own report was also deleted, please don't take it personally.

First time I was there ( maybe 2 years back).. walked up to receptionist, and she sent me to guest room, massage lady came and within a minute shes accidently brushing my balls. Anyways had fun and she gave me her number. Invited her to my hotel later, and she came with the receptionsist. Now whilst the reception lady didnt want to participate, she was happy to sit in my room and watch me and the massage lady go at it... very enjoyable.

Asiatravel has it listed for 620k. They charged me 600k when I checked in last week. I didn't check Kaha or any of the other local agencies. Accor does have sales every now and again, so you may be able to do better, if you catch them during one of these.

No, you never mentioned that website. That's like saying, "You can find that room for $10 on Expedia or some such website". Be specific, please.
