It is not over, my good friend!
SavePros321, how depressing! Now the real estate vultures are gathering. They can certainly muster higher bribes for the powers that be. Well I'm glad I could experience Sosua before it was destroyed.
There is still plenty of action!
Politur are now stealing the chicas money!
6pm-The Politur are now arresting the chicas and stealing their money. A Haitian GFE of mine, one of the best looking chicas in Sosua, was just stopped on a moto-concho, arrested, taken to jail, and stripped of all her considerable money. Her mother was forced to buy her way out of jail.
Today "The Block", tomorrow Los Charamicos?
I followed the thread on DR1 that I referenced in my previous message, and found another interesting point by the architect of the diatribe,"Taino808":
The push is on to make Sosua a more upscale area, thus again pushing the people who have trouble making even a meager living, out of the area? I hear stuff like pushing the people out of Charamicos so a marina can be built.

Should these people actually own the property they currently live on, then they have nothing to worry about. Property laws in the DR are cristal clear about this. However, if the goverment or a third party is after this land, then it could be that these people are not the actual owners, for all you know, they could be squatters.
Nevertheless, for not knowing the actual legal status of the people living in this area, I will refrain from commenting. That said, I too have heard varying comments of possible future projects in that area.
"Should these people actually own the property"? Uhhmmmm, yeah. That can be handled, I'm sure.
"Property laws in the DR are cristal clear about this." But I wouldn't be surprised if the mayor, or the alcalde, is "above the law" when it comes to property. A little matter called "eminent domain," combined with the principle of the "most efficient economic use" of the land, and you, too, can be a "squatter" on land your family has held for generations. Even land, or property, that you bought recently and to which you hold a supposedly "indisputable" title!
I'm sure it wouldn't take all that much "grease" to arrange for the title on some desirable land to get invalidated, or simply disappear from the books. Especially if the inhabitants were poor and unable to hire good-enough lawyers to fight it. Even more so, if the backers for an "inconvenienced" project were looking down the coast at Ocean World and telling the alcalde,"we can do this, too, right here!"
Too much doom and gloom. Let's enjoy Sosua, the best we can, while we can. Meanwhile, don't buy - rent.
