I try to be honest with myself about my own behavior. And that's why I don't see much difference between myself and the massage ladies. We are both basically doing the same thing in terms of sexual behavior. The only real difference is one that comes from playing male and female roles. It's the guys who pay, and it's the women who get paid.

I suppose, some guys are able to have a double standard in their minds. And for them, getting emotionally attached to a very attractive massage women isn't an issue. But not every guy is like this. For me, it's pretty hard to have a double standard. Because every time I think about it, I know that I'm deceiving myself and that having a double standard is illogical.

The only way I can avoid getting attached to a massage woman I really like is finding another massage woman I also really like and spending some time with her too. This way I split my emotions between two women and don't get overly attached to either one of them. And of course, this is what the massage women do too. They do several guys a day, which prevents them from getting emotionally attached to any one of them.

If you're going to spend time with working girls, have a lot of variety. It's okay to have you're favorites that you keep coming back to, but space them out with new ladies in between. When I was in my late 20s I was having problems with my wife. My paternal grandfather visited and said something to me I dismissed at the time."Maybe you're not the kind of man who should be married." About 25 years later I realized he was was right. Gramps was a wise man with broad experiences. In the 1930s he saw the country riding in boxcars. Those three hours will run quickly, trust me. Browse a bit around, and move to your gate. Boarding is half an hour before, so that cuts your transit already at 2. 30.

Normal is very hard to gauge considering we live in a country whose value system is far different from that which we chave back home. I think many if not most guys who live in Thailand never truly realize the extent of that difference. That makes it difficult at best to have a "normal" relationshop with many of the women here. What am I looking for? A complimentary personality has to be right up there, along with a strong sense of independence, a bit of the old career mindedness, pleasant looks, no kids, and perhaps again way up there in importance, no parasitic family, ie one that can take care of themselves. Unfortunately most guys come to Asia and throw their standards out the window. They see a good looking gal and within 6 seconds they are in love. No matter that the girl has a sixth grade education, and is the equivalent of a West Virginia hillbilly. Would you bang a gal like that in the US? Maybe. Would you date, marry her, or worse even yet, have a kid with her? The answer is no, yet guys make those decisions all the time when they come to BKK and we are talking well educated dudes here.

One of the good "thought" I have always had when meeting and sizing up a potential gf is, how would she do at a business dinner with my colleagues. If the answer is, she would feel out of place or fall flat on her face, then she is not really a potential mate. It is an issue of class here. Sorry, but Asians are spot on with this.
