I think when they first start to work there the other girls school them on how to operate. As you gents probably already know, it is not about saving 30 pesos. It is about 1) minimizing the potential of rip offs and poor performance and 2) fair business practice. A few days ago, Senor Gault mentioned about his conservative / wise propina policy, and it is for 2) and not for saving dimes. In some places, mutual trust, sincererity, and honesty enhance the quality of business. But not in Colombia, especially in Mayorista. Senor Ricker has frequently emphasized rapport with Mayo chicas. But I see that in Mayorista/Colombia, familiarity breeds contempt. I am afraid, gringos who paid in advance may look naive and powerless in locals' eyes in Mayorista. From what I have witnessed with friends with me in Mayorista who have taken the stance of paying afterward are two results. Either they say yes or no. If yes you get the girl you want on your terms.
