As to the street scene. We have had a week or two of much rain, especially the past 4-5 days. That put a damper on the thing. However even before that, Sunday and Monday evenings are the slowest (its dead). Other nights Tues-Thurs evenings are ok, and Fri / Sat nights are the most populated with ladies. Makeup on the weekend seems to be 30-ish bakla in the street, and 20-25 girls. A shortage of foreigners are in the area (pick your own reason), leading many girls to stay in the area for 2-3 nights running without getting a date of any kind. The same shortage can be seen in the bars. One evening heading home I was almost to Makati Ave near Arabian Nights resto and a foreigner came running across the street from the Maison-Hollywood area, getting away from several bakla. "Um sorry to bother you? Is it possible that that group of girls over there? Some of them? Are guys? I'm shocked!" Oh, no, fella. They are girls. Filipinas can be a bit rough around the edges. Take one back to your hotel, ignore the stubble, and have a ball. Or two.
I forgot to mention that Neon Nights disco was very dead for its first two weeks. After that its been a jumpin' place each time I've been in. Have taken several ladies in for drinks and to watch the dancing.
Cafe Cubana has a well-lit sign over the front that says FILLING STATION. Was that there before? FS is open 24 hours, and CC is open 4 pm-4 am. I miss having coffee at CC in the early AM, sitting outside at a small table. CC has live band (at least one) nightly.

Hollywood is still completely boarded up. Rogues is completely out of biz and I believe for lease.

I am glad to report some happy-happy bar-hopping recently. Saturday evening, Lips, upstairs. 10-11 pm-ish when I arrived. The place was packed, every table / booth was taken. But many of them were taken by GRO's. The waitress shooed several from a table for me to sit. Waiting for my SML to arrive, I was surprised by the large number of girls, and the quality. Wow! A bit like the old days. For fun I started counting guys: 18. I was in a corner so I had a good view of the place, and started counting girls. It became impossible to get an accurate count as the place was in full party mode, with numerous girls running around the dance / pole floor and the ailes, chasing each other playfully. I got to 47 and stopped, as I thought I was counting some girls twice. I estimated that I didn't count 1/4 of the girls. You can finish that extrapolation. I only saw 7-8 girls that I would *not* f*ck. A real party atmosphere.
Half an hour later I asked for the bill, and while waiting, the dance floor cleared. 4 girls (really long hair extensions) grabbed 1 chair each and placed them on the dance floor, sitting in the chairs. The lights went low, and the girls started a choreographed dance number, using the chairs as props. It was great! As I was leaving, two more girls, skinny / tiny hotties who looked a lot alike, took to the dance floor, laid down on their tummies next to each other, and then started another slow, choreographed dance number. Lovely! There was no pressuring to buy a girl a drink. I left at that point, modestly inebriated and in a great mood on the walk home. Hi-five Lips!
Another night recently, went into Par Avion (Ivory bar), which is half of the old Go Bananas. Previous trips in had seen 8-15 ladies, often I was the only customer. A much better lady lineup in terms of looks (fewer fuglies) from before. Previously two different PA girls (cuties) got my number in the bar and discussed a next-day cheat-the-bar ST for themselves. But this night was different. When I went in there were two customers, each on opposing walls, sipping a drink. I sat in the middle. I counted 13 girls (non with a customer, and none was offered to me). ALL of them were hot. Wow what a change. I didn't recognize any of them from my previous jaunts inside. There were 2 hotties dancing on the raised stage (the raised stage looks down on the old ships steering wheel carved in the floor years ago), and 3 more nearly naked girls dancing off the stage, staring at themselves in the mirror behind the stage. Again, lovely! What a great view! A few minutes later 2 more girls came out of the CR area together, both guapa. And then 3 more girls came in the main door. Almost 20 girls and not a fugly among them. Go team Avion (or Ivory, or Nautica)!
These bars must be commended for their hotness hiring. In addition, Amors bar on Ebro St was open recently again.
