Gentlemen,

I'm planning my first trip back to The Philippines in many years and will have one night (Saturday night) in Manila. I'm aware of LA Cafe and P. Burgos bars but would love to find some fun discos / clubs / bars with a good mix of freelancers and non-pros. I've RTFF, but haven't found any mentions. Any recommendations out there?

There are a number of reports on how fun Royal disco was back in 2019. Don't know if it still exists, but it is walking distance from Burgos. Go after 1.00 am, and you will pick enough freelancers there. Some of the night clubs in Malati were for Koreans, but Royal was for all nationalities.

Its possible that Insomnia is the previous Club Exclusive. Last time I was in the area was late last year, and both clubs were closed. Google them and call them after 10 pm Phils time to confirm if they are open.

A few years ago I was taken by a taxi driver to 2 or 3 places in Makati area where they had a selection of girls to take out, quite like the goldfish bowl bars we see in other countries but without any frills, no bar and just seats around the edge for the 10 or 15 girls. It was a bar fine type system. These were completely unmarked, you would need to be shown where they are. Has anyone else seen any of these? Are they still there and if so how do we find them?

They did a major remodel and the place looks great. Lots of women and freelancers Thursday thru Saturday, not so much the rest of the week. I spent some time there in May, June, and July. Like ED indicated it doesn't start filling up until after midnight, so 1 am is a good time to go.

I stopped by a few places in P Burgos bar on Friday night.

Par Avion was my first stop and being early hadn't got into full swing, although had quite a few girls maybe 12-15 or so by 9:30; it's a very small place so 15 ladies there looks like a lot. Had a couple of beers and then moved up to Lollypop.

Lollypop. Had a couple of drinks here, girls are super friendly and not too pushy when it comes to buying lady drinks, not a big selection maybe about 8 ladies that I saw when there, although I think sometimes they share ladies with Per Avion downstairs, seen one customer go into a VIP room which is a separate room off the main lounge space with a proper door and neon lights, so privacy is assured, will give this a spin some night for sure.

Then I moved to V8 which was in full swing by the time I arrived maybe 10:30, as was a bit tipsy ended up with a cutie and after a couple of drinks decided to barfine her, the mama explained to me that it was 3 K for the bar and 5 K 'tip' for the lady, I said no, the tip would be 3 K and after a bit of consulting between the mama and the lady we agreed, so 6 K total which is expensive but better than 8 K originally quoted (not including drinks). The lady turned out to be fun and quite a trooper, so for me it was money well spent.

I also dropped by Lips (the upstairs one) and next time I will definitely go there as it offers a bit of a show in addition to quite a few very attractive ladies on the large dancefloor, no ideas on current prices there as it's been a while since I barfined anyone from that place.

The taxi drivers know these places because they get a cut from the casa. It's been many years since I have been to one but in the past, I've pulled a few diamonds in the rough from the casas.

Confirming Bourbon as per Ghost. It is now in the old Hollywood bar. Open about 2 weeks now. Bit of an oddity. Good live band, small pinoy-ish foods selection, full wet bar. Well-lit, allows smoking. Pool table in the back, opposite corner from the door.

Oddity. You can see from mine and Ghost's pics that there is an outdoor seating area at Burgos St. They keep half a dozen bar girls sitting out there, dressed in nice clothes (no uni). Sometimes the girls move inside. If outside, the girls almost whisper to you when entering the bar: "Sir? Sir?" If inside, one or more of them might stop by to chat with you. Not yet sure the function of this. Will need to reconnoiter and sus things out some more (read: get drunk there). I think my beers were under p150, so less than the other gogo bars. It doesn't seem to be a gogo bar, except for those girls (who are not consuming product or with anyone). A live band place, with GRO?

Departing Bourbon I stepped into Maison, next door. Before sitting I asked a waitress how much a SML costs: "400". Really, for me or as a LD? "For you the customer". I was in there a month prior and don't recall it being more than 200. Turned and left.

Up the street. Under Lokal ST hotel on Burgos, between Fyre and V8 gogo bars, the little birdie tells me that there has been the sounds of construction going on inside there recently inside. Then the old covid plywood facade came down to reveal a new plywood facade. Obviously something is getting ready to open there soon (ala Bourbon's similar experience).

Be careful guys, 8000 P translates in a lot of USD event at today's exchange rate for likely ST. Maybe work on other solutions.

Pre-pademic it was barfine + tip, where tip was: Hottie = 6 k (no compromise / negotiation); Fair girls = 5 k requested, possible negotiation down to 4 k; Fuglies = 4 or 5 k requested, usually negotiate down to 3-4 k. Even older fuglies who were too old to be GRO's, such as a fat late 40's massage lady, if available, would not budge below 3 k on tip.

However, since pandemic re-opening, all the ladies will open with p6 k. Only one (brand new FOB) girl said 5 k to start. The girls now are keen to stick to their opening price. Some of them are extremely new to the bar, and nobody explained the rules to them when they hired in. As we previously have discussed, the girls listen to their co-workers (mafiosa) and stick to what they are told. A co-worker tells a new fugly to insist on 5 or 6 k, and she will do it, and almost certainly lose this evenings possible barfine guy. He's going to look across the bar at any better-tier girl and get her for the same amount.

Now, for pinay logic (listed in the Logic Handbook as THE BEST LOGIC OF ALL). A current gogo hottie, age 27 and she's ALL THAT. Hot bod, good face, horny, extremely narcissistic. On my first meeting with her in her bar, while lap dancing on me, she suggested that we exchange phone numbers, and we did (in front of the mama), and have an afternoon 'cheat-the-bar' hookup, for 2500. A bit later, after I'd left, she txt "When we can meet? Tomorrow?" A few minutes later: "2500 its 2 rounds". As I ignore her txts, it becomes "2000 its 2 rounds". Two weeks later I'm back in her bar and have a drink with a different girl (the mama threw the girl in my lap as I sat down, which is not unusual these days). After the drink and the bar girl leaves, the first girl walks over and says: "You didn't take me short time. Barfine me". Ahem, how much is the barfine? "3900 and my tip 6000". Hmmm, 6 k is a lot for a tip. Can we negotiate down? "No its 6000". Ahem-ahem, one pop tonight and one in the morning? "Yes".

Ahem-ahem-ahem. Why would I pay 10 k for that, when I can have you for 2 pops in the afternoon for 2 k, and only have to put up with you for a few hours? "Haha. OK". She turned and walked away. If she was serious about a barfine, why not drop that tip to 4 k to increase the odds of a barfine happening in that moment? She would receive 1 k from the barfine and 4 k for tip (5 k total), for 2 pops and sleeping with aircon / nice bed, as opposed to sitting in a bar all night with few customers and small chance of a barfine. Pinay logic.

Happy to hear someone got a gogo girl to negotiate.
