Like you, I prefer the variety and personalities of women in Brazil to the very lovely Thai ladies (who one person on another forum described as 'all looking as if they have been whacked in the face with a wok. ') I can understand I think how Carlos Primeros (who I think I have met many years ago?) wouldn't go for it, but it's cool to have different tastes. I'd maybe stay there for one night just for the buzz but generally I like cheap accommodation if that's what my budget allows. I have stayed at the Oriental in Bangkok however and that is also a very impressive, world-class hotel. Though if you like Asians I think there are better value places these days than Bangkok itself, beautiful city though it is. I agree about Carnaval rates in Rio. Many hotels will formally announce Carnaval rates and these can easily be double the usual rates and, what's more, they will sell out even at that (mostly to Brazilians travelling to the capital. Western tourists are a minor percentage).

Welcome to the board, Camelot13. Most of the people here are fans of Brasil and the Brasilian women. Prosal is the resident antagonist, but that's ok too. People like Sperto on the other hand post reliable info and are a valued asset to any punter, new or experienced.

Appreciate your charitable spirit. I've searched Mercure Ipanema that you've recommended on Trip Advisor. The outcome is similar to other searches I made for cheaper hotels. Cacroaches, theft, smell, noise. Are among just few comments that people leave after enjoying this hotel. As my goal is not cheap, but comfortable-yet-reasonable, I'm afraid to conclude that all hotels that are not priced ridiculously high in Rio (copa in particular) are going to be hideous. I did read Bubba's guide and thank him, you and everyone else here for sharing your thoughts on the accomodation subject.

Thus, per my recent research, the following 3 hotels on copa make some sense in terms of comfort / cost:

- Arena Copacabana Hotel (US$361, great location, ask top floor far from electrical switch board in a holeway)

- Windsor Excelsior Hotel (US$460 ocean view, can be noisy AC)

- JW Mariott ( US$500 / night)

Hope the the discussion I've prompted and the 3 choices above are helpful to folks who are averse to finding bugs in their hotel rooms. If anyone has better or more creative ideas that don't compromise minimal standards of comfort. Please do tell.

Last time I was in Rio (last summer) , I found rooms at the Copacabana Palace for around $545 / per night. And that was one of the "cheap" ones with no view! I would love to stay at such a place steeped in so much history, but that's out of my price range. Instead, I picked the girl-friendly Astoria Palace Hotel just a few blocks away for less than half the price.

The Astoria Palace is a beachfront hotel in an excellent location on the strip, within easy walking distance of Monte Carlo, Balcony, and Barbarella's. You can also take a nice and leisurely stroll over to L'uomo. The one big drawback with the Astoria Palace was that they didn't have free wireless internet in their rooms. You had to go down to the little lobby for that. But, I managed to find a workaround. Hehehe!

For luxury accommodations, I have heard good things about the South Beach Copacabana Residence Club on Domingos Ferreira. But I personally have not stayed there.

Just banged a hot 19 why old Columbiana from backpage for 150 / hr. I got plenty of agencies for 150 / hr full of hot young nice chicks in US. Backpage contain plenty of young hot chicks and college cuties for $100+/hr so I don't have to fly 7000 to do pay a premium on top. Honestly, I am not losing my sleep over going back to Brazil anymore. In order to be physically present in Brazil cost me $150 alone for airfare / day + apt rent / day. On top of that, the sky high Terma prices with a standard session costing $200+ is a fend off. Terma owners doesn't understand the supply and demand stretegies. I can stumble upon two young hot chicks for less than $300 / hr on my day off in US.

I have devoted the past six years to Brazil and possibly continue going back but it won't be anytime soon. Do you get in line in McDonald's and order the same value meal over and over if all the meals cost the same? The point I'm trying to make is that Brazil vocational cost is equivalent or above any mongering destination in the world. Why would I order the same meal over and over? I am scheduled for my next vacation in Kiev and German FKK clubs in few months. If Terma owners are clever enough to charge world class prices than I'm witty enough to apreciate the other options. A vacation in Brazil starting to cost me almost $400 a day, thus, I settled on giving Brazil a break for.

To all the people who complains on how expensive Brazil is: don't go there, but please stop whining on the forum.

If you can't afford going to Brazil, stay home or go somewhere else.

If you can really get the same quality of talent without any bullshit then I agree with you. Why not just stay home and just enjoy the abundant p*ssy? I doubt you can find 2 new hot hookers every day for two weeks running like you can easily do when you are in Copa.

But remember Rio can be done on a budget without the fear of possibly getting arrested as you might be in the States. A Scortshow girl costs 80R / hour (120R + 40R taxi RT for 2hrs) which is $44. 44 per hour (1. 80 as the exchange rate). You can find very acceptable garotas in the apartment brothels for 100R / hour = $55. 55 per hour. It was your choice to patronize the Termas.

Guys. With respect, this is a Brazil thread. ie for discussing p4p in Brazil. Apart from sweet talking them in Portuguese, I don't think banging chicks in my own country who were born in Brazil will give much in the way of help to mongers visiting Brazil (I can give you several pages if you're interested). And I'm not personally attracted to visiting the USA for p4p of any ethic origin (if I were, I'd look on the US board, surely?)

There are many places that can be compared to Brazil just now economy wise. As I like the lower end of the market (which is still cheap) and can get cheap accommodation arrangements, they don't really figure in my decisions to visit. I cone to Brazil for the rich and varied culture, which includes the variety and style of the mongering scene. It's nice however that visitors have such fond memories that they seek out Brazilian women abroad! Best wishes. C.
