1) hotel bars are usually not required to close, but may operate under tighter regulation. for example, they may close a bit earlier than usual.

2) brothels in kota will usually be shut until about one week after idul fitri.

3) blok m clubs may or may not be open, although they probably will be. as with point one, they may shut earlier than usual.

4) some warung and restaurants will be shut during the day, but many will be open.

5) some girls will refrain from having sex during daylight hours.

6) freelancers will still be looking for clients, but may adopt alternative marketing methods (such as ringing up old clients and telling them how much they miss them).

7) the whole city will become deathly quiet in the week before and up to and following idul fitri, with large numbers of girls and other useful members of society returning to their rural homelands.

Most kota places provided they will come under the name of a hotel, like alexis or malioboro will be open, however it depends how the area of kota has closed it deals with the local mafia be it the preman from Ambon or the cops. So kemang can be subject of the FPI mafia raids as kota is prone to the police raids. Central Jakarta area is worry free pretty much controlled by police who is not really fuzzy but caution is still required. Some stand alone bars and restaurants like Lanna Thai & Hazara are open and attract a good foreigner crowd thirsty for alcohol and fun.

Plus that my car window glass has a bit darker stickers, so it was not too risky to have some actions inside, even with cars moving in and out, and some security guys standing not too far from there.

The flight was a nightmare, sandwiched between two fat guys, so I haven't really slept at all. However, arrived in Jka this morning and went for my first adventure.
