I will be heading to the area near the Furama resort, but not the actual resort. Anyone have any experience here? Any good bars for just drinking and hanging out as well as hobby activities?

No help to you in terms of locally but mention of the Furama brings back particularly nice memories! I took a girl from SGN up to DaNang with me, and then down to the Furama. This was back around '99, and she was quite special. And beautiful whether naked or in her Ao Dai. Had great fun in the shower at Furama (has a bench seat in it) Damn - now I won't be able to concentrate on work for at least a couple of hours!

Just while I'm in WSG, I was in NhaTrang in March this year for a few days. Yes its a fun place, and I had a very funny experience there this time.

Back ground is that back in the mid 90's I found myself with a Mamasan from that bar/nightclub downstairs the hotel - magestic? something like that, on the road along the beach. (back then it was quite a different crowd - This March it was very yuppy young). She ended up coming back to the AnaMandara with me next day during the day, and on a boat trip to the islands following day.

So this March I looked into the original nightclub, didn't like the scene (I must be getting too old! ), and went back to my hotel the Yakusa. Downstairs there is also a bar/dancefloor, but when I went in there was proper ballroom type dancing! (and thats not the scene I was looking for either! )

My mate and I had a couple of beers and were about to go when the ballroom dancing finished, and 4 girls came in, headed straight for us. Before I nknew it, I had a handful very close to me, organised by one of the girls who was clearly the Mamasan - and you guessed it, the same Mamasan!

So once we had made the connection, the dynamics changed completely. Thing was, I wanted to take the girl I had back with me (big mistake in the end because she smelt a bit sour down below), and Mamasan didn't want the girls to know how well she knew me. Back in the room (I had to take another room at the Yakusa for her) I had at least three phone calls from Mamasan before, during and after the job! Insisting that she wanted to be there and could do better.

Next day I told Mamasan that a) I didn't want to do first girl again. b) I didn't want to do her again, and c) one of the other of the girls from the bar previous night was particularly attractive, and I'd like to have her. And d) I wanted a mini-hotel as rooms at the Yakusa were too expensive.

No problem except for all the feighned dissapointment at me not wanting her (Mamasan).

Had a great night with a great smelling girl who was very willing and pleasant.

Costs around 400, 000 for each of the girls, 100, 000 for the Mamasan each of the nights. Can't remember what the hotels cost.

Then to cap it off, on the last day there, a waitress in the bar/restaurant on the beach where we had a few beers each day quietly asked me if we could swap phone numbers with each other, as she would like to see me again! And she was a gem, but alas, no time left to pursue further!

Now looking forward to going back there again. Picture is from the 2nd girl from the bar.

For the first time I’m going to Bangkok, Hanoi, Hue and HCMC. I only speak English and am looking for suggestions as to where to find ‘some company’ who speaks some English. In other places I’ve gone into a department type store to ‘shop’ and if I found one to my liking, I’d strike up a conversation and ask if she could help me find some place for dinner and help me sightseeing the next day. I also offer to pay her for her day(s) of lost wages at the store. Is this a good approach also in Thailand and VN?

Where else can I have a good chance of finding an English speaking friend?

Huè:

Hotel: Hotel L'Indocine - 02 Hung Vuong Str.
Price: US$ 17. Breakfast included.
GF?: Not checked, but I suspect that a good tip to the night doorman can make the deal.
Notes: Not liked this hotel, only viet customers not so clean rooms. Not raccomended.

Day 1:
I went to Huè Hotel, in D Le Loi between the two bridges. I had a 1h massage, and I paid 90.000 VND in front.
Beautiful viet girl, HJ only tip 100.000 VND, no BJ available. No english spoken at all, not so great massage but fair experience.
Closes at 11.00 PM, mandatory.
We saw the famous Century Riverside hotel. Massage available and night bar 9pm-2am.
I went to the boats near the parfume river, but I wasn't able to spot any P4P action!
I went to the famous DMZ bar, no P4P action at all.
Every cyclo or moto offers "good lady", not checked.

Day 2:
My friend went to the massage in Saigon Morin Hotel (D Hung Vuong), just close to our hotel. Massage and Sauna was US$10 to pay in front.
Tip asked for HJ: US$30, very hard bargain at 200.000 VND.

Hoi An:

Hotel: Hotel Than Binh 2.
Price: US$ 18. Breakfast included.
GF?: GF? What does it mean GF in Hoi An? BTW, when I came back after 10pm, everybody were sleeping in the lounge and nobody noticed me, so I could enter with dozen of girls. If just I was able to find one...
Notes: Ok hotel, but prefers the Than Binh 3, round the corner, for the pool (but you can use it if you are a Than Binh 2 coustomer).

Hoi An is a DEAD city. At 10pm everything is closed down, everything but Tam Tam and Treats bars, but with NO P4P action at all.
Asked to many Moto guys, asked to hotel doorman but everyone answered that Hoi An have NO action at all, had to go to Danang.
Just ONE moto guy, close to my hotel, offered me a girl... but I didn't trust him at all.

Danang:
Hotel: Bach Dang Riverside Hotel.
Price: US$ 26 riverside room. Breakfast included.
GF?: Not checked, but I think it should be ok.
Notes: Very good hotel, with a beauty center inside offering in-room massage (not checked). You can bargain for a room not on riverside.

Went to the Camel Disco, really full of viet young people, but no westners. No P4P action at all.
Spotted some SW just in the back street of our the hotel, on Thran Phu str.
My friend decided to go with a cyclo in front of our hotel: US$3 for the cyclo, US$5 for a room (close to Camel Disco), and US$10 for an ugly 40 yo lady. Bad experience reported.

Anyone been around the new resort area near the Furama? I will be in that area in a month for about 5 weeks. I have heard nothing about it.

Satyed at Furama Resort in Aug. Took a taxi to massage parlor in Green Hotel. Massage with HJ, $10 US.

It was my 2nd trip to Danang in the last 3 years. I stayed in Bach Dang Hotel. It costs 190,000 or around $13/night. Someone reported it costs him $25 which may be too high.

I took a Xe Tho (motobike guy) to a Beer Om on NguyenDu street. I met a tall and attractive Hatinh girl who is around 25 years old. She is such a sweet girl. BTW, you guys got to understand that when you are in a Beer Om place the girl will try to make you eat and drink as much as she can. I tried not to get into such situation. I stopped her and told her I'd pay 200,000 dong to the house and thus did not need any food or drink. We chat for half an hour then I lay her down on the divan (there is no bed in the room). I took time playing and making her come, fucked her in multiple positions, but could not make myself come. This is such a nuisanse when you get older ... Well, I had a good time anyway and tipped her 200,000. She was very happy but she felt sad afterward when I told her I'd not be able to see her again. Total damage was 400,000 or around $26.

This place is definitely not for non-Viet mongers. I recommend non-Viet to look for safer places. The Xe Tho guy told me many westerners got robbed by thugs in closed-by places. Watch out you guy. I had a bad experience in Hue which I had to fight my way out ... Fortunately I only got couple bruises (the other thug lost his 2 front teeth ... :) )

If you speak the language you should not have any problems getting around. Talk to any Xe Tho (motobike driver) and he will take you to the place. Make sure you deal with the mamasan upfront about the food/beer cost. If you don't want any food or beer tell her so.

There is another place where you can get hand job for total of 100000 (50 to the house and 50 to the girl), I forgot the place. Just ask Xe Tho.

Same in Hue, there are beer om places full of young girls from Can Tho, Long An, or southern parts of VN (these girls don't want to work too close to their home towns). I fucked couple young and innocent girls there (firm breasts, tight pussies, and extremely wet ... ) And again, I forgot the place as I am not familiar with these areas.

I am a bit worry about what you said toward the end of your posting about having to fight your way out with a thug. Could you elaborate more about that? I am a bit worry since I never had to deal with such a situation. I usually hire a xe-om guy to accompany me to places I am not sure about. I usually promised to pay 100,000VND at the end of the day. This usually provide enough incentive for the xe-om to look out for me. But, I have been to some of the places where I could get seriously hurt and I don't want to repeat. Luckily, thing never escallate to that point.
I just feel that it is always better to be safe. So, please tell more. If nothing else, it will give me some idea as to what to avoide or look out for.

Need some answers from someone who knows VN well. I am going to Hai Duong (about 50km east of Hanoi) in Feb. 2005 to visit some viet friends there. I have been once before but with viet friends from home so no language problems that time. But there will be this time but that will be my problem. Anyway, since I am going to stay with my viet friends living there and I suspect they will be with me most of the time, girls will be hard to find. Or? What is the traditional view on sex among young people in northern VN. Last time I was there it was only for 10 days so I waited till I came back to Thailand but now I will stay for 3-4 weeks. Is it possible for a foreigner to get sex from a young, single "good" girl in north VN without promising a wedding? What is their view? And if that is out of the question, is there a general way to find bar girls or other prostitutes? I mean like a red light in the window or just to ask girls who are out after 10 pm or something. Or is it just to ask someone else? Who is best to ask? I will not ask my friends.

It was my mistake for not following my instict. The incidence happened in Hue. I stayed in a place close to Dap Da (Rock Dam) and could not sleep during the night. Hue is basically dead after 10 PM. I took a walk and got invited from a cyclo guy who is in mid 30. This guy promised me to find a cheap place for beautiful girls (oh, how stupid I was!) I hopped on and he took me over Dap Da to a deserted area. I immediately felt something was wrong so I asked him to stop. He just continued riding so I jumped on him (while the cyclo was moving) and forced him to stop. Then we got into a struggle. After breaking his face I ran back to the hotel which is ~ 2 miles away while this thug was riding his cyclo to get his friends. I was lucky that they did not catch me. I had all the money, passport, etc... with me that night.

Going with xe-om is relatively safe but not completely. It is better to go with someone you know. I've heard some tourists got robbed to the pennies. Never go out at night. Get the girl to go to your hotel if you feel horny. If you go out at night go to a well-known club with a friend (or two).

I would like to stay in Nha Trang for 3 months sometime next year. Are decent furnished apartments normally available for short term rental in a place like Nah Trang. As a tourist, any problems renting such an apartment.

About cyclo and motorcycle drivers: the safest way is to get the hotel staff to introduce someone they know. You are sure to get no problem this way.

In this country, men only have a utility function (money, wedding or whatever). If you are of no use, no sex. Nice and kind freelancers can be usually met in bars and discos where foreigners go. You don't want to ask your friends! ah! ah! I am sure they know where to find them because they also go there!

Cyclo and motorcycle drivers can introduce you to cheaper vietnamese pussy, where girls could be younger and prettier, but will not be able to speak english. Enjoy it !
