Even if you do sneak out, the logistics of pay for play in this lovely town is not entry level. Do you speak any Spanish? However, if you are asking these kind of questions here, it's hard to take you too seriously. This should be a non-issue. But, my experience here in Peru has revealed the preferred rendevous are simple, low-end hotels known as "hostals". That's right. H-o-s-t-A-l. No, that is not "hostel". Its Hostal with an "a". I mentioned that because some BM mentioned staying in a hostAl here in Peru and some clod chided him saying that he should be able to stay in a decent hotel, instead of a hostEl. Nowadays, those things known as "hostEls" tend to be overpriced privately owned and for profit, lodging with shared bedrooms for prices that often exceed your own apartment on AirBnB. I guess some hosts got savvy to the millennials need to have the "hostel" experience for which they would pay too much. It was a very different experience during my youth, traveling Europe and crashing in the standard IYHF hostels that offered spartan lodging and often a horrible breakfast with it for a few bucks. But, that was over 40 years ago.

So, the average room in a Peruvian "hostal" is pretty basic but has a private bath, cable TV and a phone. Amenities are few. So, bring your own soap and shampoo. But, they work fine for prostitutes, who routinely work out of them. I've gone into two different hostals where the girls were working, and nobody at the front desk batted an eye once I indicated which room I was going to. If the girls can work out of there, then you can bring them in, as well.

As far as actual hostals and lower end hotels where this takes place, I can point you to 3. Most recently, I visited a Peruana at Hotel San Lazaro, which is predictably located in San Lazaro, just north of the historical district at Avenida Juan de la Torre 179. The girl I met there was nothing special in the bed, but she wasn't charging very much, either. Usually, you get what you pay for. But, the room was surprisingly large with a queen bed. It was more of a MOTEL, though, with parking underneath and an open layout.

The other place that I caught my attention was HOSTAL Montana, at Av. La Paz 420, just east of the historical center. I walked past the place a few times, but never went inside. Various women I inquired with indicated this was their rendevous point. So, it is probably approaching the status of a cathouse. One girl offered me a 3-some at that locale, which makes me confidant she is working with other girls there. However, I was never able to coordinate an appointment or come to an agreement on services I expected. So, I never got a chance to check it out.

When I was in Arequipa last April, the standard price for Peruanas was 150 an hour, around 100 for half an hour. What surprised me this last visit, the average hourly price for an hour was done to 130 and half an hour was around 70-80. Note these prices are in Soles as of August 2023. Your mileage may vary and pricing will inevitably change, along with exchange rates.

Why the price decrease in a time of inflation? Who knows. But, I did find out from my Spanish teacher that Peru focuses on their micro-economy and are not as impacted by external economic events as other nations. Ecuador, their neighbor to the north, has been using US currency (yes, they use the dollar and US coins, as well) and thusly have been subject to the same inflation as the USA. My teacher also informed me that Peru currently has a LOWER level of poverty than Ecuador, which has lots of problems these days. And finally I must point out that at least half of the prostitutes advertising online are FOREIGN women. Colombianas are the biggest group next to Venezolanas. Though they are at the opposite end of the price range. If you like Colombianas, then stay in Colombia where they are cheaper and of course, much more abundant. Otherwise I noticed women from other parts of Latin America in Arequipa. A few from Argentina (expensive), Chile, Paraguay and even Cuba, Mexico and Honduras. No Brazileiras, though! Finally, I have notice the women here, regardless of nationality tend to post their as being in the 18-20 years range. Mature women usually go for much less. I am not sure if all these "young" women at actually that young. But, it's a bit strange when 90% of the women claim to be college age. Very different from Brazil where the most expensive women are mature, veteran GPS (though they usually have acquired a regular clientele and some legendary status in social media and the user forums.).

That said, you have choices in Arequipa, but even better choices in other parts of South America, when it comes to this hobby. But, if you are coming to Peru for educational, cultural or touristic purposes, you won't be disappointed. Hey, I enjoy sitting on a nice beach in Brazil as much as anyone. But, sometimes I feel the call of adventure from some other place than my crotch.

I'm going to be pretty close to the center of town, but any update on where the red light districts are, what streets for prostitutes, and so on? Is there a good area with streetwalkers all day or do they only come out at night?
