I have the Canon IXUS400 (marketed in the States as the S-400) and am very pleased with it. It not only gives good results, but the small size makes it possible to carry discretely. You won't be marked as easily by thieves and your interest in photography is not as obvious to the casual onlooker. If you decide on this model I strongly recommend that you invest in one, or more, high capacity memory cards.

Read your post and saw your picture. Good looking girl, too bad the quality isn't better but still "we get the picture."

I've been taking digital pictures for a couple of years, as a hobby only. You won't believe how good they turn out once you get the hang of it and the really nice thing about taking digitals is you can print them up right on your own printer, and it doesn't have to be a high quality printer either, any middle of the road one will make unbelievable prints. The secret tho to printing high quality pictures is in the paper you use. When you're first starting out to print, use plain paper to learn on. It's cheaper. Then the better you get move up in quality of paper till you finally get to where you're printing on high gloss paper. It's expensive but worth it.

Another secret to making fine prints is to always tell your printer EXACTLY what type of paper, i. e., plain, glossy, high gloss, you're gonna be printing on. It makes a huge difference in the quality of the finished product.

I'm on my second Sony camera, I lost the first one at the airport. Again if you stick with middle of the road price range, you'll be happy. One of the more important things to shop for when looking into digital cameras though is the battery. It takes alot to power these things up and keep them running, so make sure you get a long lasting lithium-ion battery, rechargeable of course.

Also, don't worry too much about digital zoom capacity, just focus on the optical zoom feature, as any shots taken in digital zoom mode turn out blurry (my experience).

Megapixels, yea, they're important, but anything above 3 is a waste of money. IMHO.

I agree with most of those camera users that megapixel is important in terms of resolution that is onlyconfined to the display; whereas when the input is restricted by the light-capturing device, known as CCD the outcome on any super-duper megapixel display will be wasted!!

I had a few friends who are using the Fuji Finepix series with a SCCD [Super CCD] the images taken had been excellent! Actually with a rated 3.5Megapixel if taken by a SCCD camera will turn ut to be 6.5 mexapixel!! [nearly times 2] Try one at the camera shop you will see the difference, even without flash!

BTW, any of those cameras that is attached to the handphone is a joke! The design and functionality were of those very earlier digital cameras' [outdated] designs.

BTW, the second photo taken by you [very clear in terms of the boob profile and landscape]. I like it!
