Brasilia for the Buildings and Bicycles
After many attempts to have my layover flights to Brasilia Airport. I still could not see the planned city Oscar Niemeyer designed city from the window of my airplane. Bummer!
Decided to bus it in from Belo Horizonte on a sleeper to arrive on Sunday morning and see how Ciclavia works and what the Capital city has to offer.
Train from Interstate bus to Centro (4.5 reales) a 15 minute walk to the TVTower.
Ciclavia Sunday: No roads shut as the city has intensive bike specific paths around the parks. 6 lane one way road reminds me of Buenos Aires Argentina but deserted of people and old buildings.
I stayed at Hotel Diplomat at 175 reales with window view of fountain and TV tower and breakfast included.
I walked it on to Oscar Niemeyer designs and was pleased to have visited.
As far as Garotas: Did not partake but did pass by a Club Paradise (5 min walk).
Garvey Park Hotel (5 min walk) indeed has commercial massages at the 2nd floor however it was closed when I arrived and did not partake. It appears that the facilities are indeed small in this mixed-used commercial / residential facility.
Summary: Spent 36 hours here and would have investigated the Sumambaia and Ceilandia if I had more time.
Perhaps some members can take the fast train there for 4.5 reales and report back. Lax Mask enforcement here.
