Here are my experiences of Asuncion.

Street sceene. Cruised on Sunday night in a Taxi in the centre of Asuncion. It was about 22:00. I found it too intimidating to get out of the Taxi. I do not think it was safe, so I did not sample any street walking action.

Rerurned to my 5-star hotel, it was called Excelior, talked to the bell-boy and he gladly agreed to organise me a chika. He wanted $100 USD, but I hagled we agreen on $80.

Half an hour later they send 2 chikas to my room: a brunette and a fake blonde. Decided to go for a blonge, and have a quick shag before sending her away and going to sleep.

The next morning the hotel boy told me that ALL the europeans who stay in the hotel always order chikas, americas very rarely.

I took some photos of the girl, if there is an interes I can post to the group.

Day 3:

Checked another apartment-brothel during the afternoon. Some of the girls are on the internet. Took Angelica for an hour (100000 PYG; 1/2 hour is 60000 PYG). There is another sleazy massage place at Avda Estrella 864 (3rd floor). Melisa (phone 0971-736337) offered me massage with completo for 70000 PYG per hour. But you never know who's maybe waiting for you (read: your cash) while you're going down the half lit or dark narrow stairs in an unknown three-story building.

Staying in Asunción during a Sunday isn't recommendable (unless you've found a girlfriend) because the city is pretty dead, empty streets and no visible Police presence to maintain some minimum security.

I found the street scene amazing to see (even if I did only one SW).

I've personally met Brandon Cole at his place in Asunción.
He had different catalogues with pictures of maybe 40 girls. The pictures looked good, and the girls could be models or famous in any other way, I don't have a doubt about it. sorry for the delay.

- the mentioned clubs must have been closed recently, because it was in the newspaper. Don't know if they reopened already.

- didn't check clubs or discos, I chased during the day and basically concentrating on internet girls. During the evening I enjoyed huge amounts of all kinds of beef and plenty of beer. After such a dinner I don't have enough energy left for any exercise.

- I didn't try TLN's because of the above, you should rather refer to the other posts.

- Asuncion Palace is ok, but it is VERY noisy during the night because there is Cafecito's Pub and Disco "La Morocha" right next door. About bringing guests overnight I don't know, I had a guest during an afternoon for 2 hours, nobody ever spoke about it later. Breakfast is not good, but there is a very helpful englishspeaking Lady at the front desk in the morning. The price was ok, it was clean, had cable-TV and a minibar. But there are enough other hotels around.

- the city itself (what I saw) is nothing extraordinary, there is an old paraguayan navy vessel "Canoñero Humaita" just behind palacio Lopez. Just look around downtown, there may be other interesting places I didn't visit.

I am not surprised that you didn't feel safe during a Sunday night. There is not much Police around. During the week it was different. I don't think that you made a good deal paying 80 USD for probably a short-timer. Go ahead and post the pictures of the girl for us.

FYI-

The best hotels in Asuncion are not more than $100/night. I recommend the Granados Park. It is a nice hotel and very guest friendly. The same company also has another hotel across the street from the Granados called Margaritas. It looks nice. I think the Excelsior is a top hotel just a little older. Of course there are many other places for significantly less.

The web sites mentioned below all have some nice ladies. There is another site with some nice looking girls called sexcitas.com. The price for all is usually around $40 for outcall to your hotel. I have seen many of these girls and they never dissapoint. Of course they are always happy to see a green eyed, light skinned American at the door.

The street scene looks great in Asuncion. I have never tried it out but have seen some real hot girls working. Maybe some day...

There is not much to do in Asuncion. Some decent bars, good restaurants, a couple of casinos and 1 golf course. You can fly to Ciudad del Este for a day trip and see the waterfall and dam. I would recommend it.
