Great post! One of the best I have seen.

I don't live in Korea but I'm there once a month for a couple days depending on the work schedule.

To answer more questions: YJG is far from Seoul, even from the closest subway station from YJG is still maybe 1-1.5 hours from there, depending how fast the driver is. It's very booney to get there. You past through a lot of countrysides and you go over mountains. If it's your first time trying to find it, it won't be easy or you will pay big bucks to the taxi driver because most won't want to go there because they have to drive back. Usually, they will ask for an extra 10K to take you there because it leaves Seoul by a good distance. For a foreigner to take that journey, it takes balls, kinda scary even for myself cause you go through so much empty land far from familiar Seoul.

You could get killed and they'll never find you there...haha...But on a serious note, one reason why albiet small chance on why it might be dangerous for foreigners to go there might be because there is a korean army base near there, obviously because it's up north, close to NK. They do get rowdy and I did see some uniformed guys walking around YJG, they might not like a foreigner "doing" the korean girls. Like people mentioned before, some Koreans will give nasty looks or say something when they see inter-racial couples, now that's in Seoul, imagine 20 year old Army drunk guys in the middle of nowhere Korea and you got nobody to help you. You walk down the alley of YJG and run into them by yourself, may not be the happy time you were after. Just a YMMV so you know what goes on.

I know how to drive there now like I said, so I feel more comfortable. Next time I go, I'll follow along on a map and try to map that place out. Last time I was trying to map it out but you know how the maps in Korea just plain suck, so I couldn't figure it out. I'll try buying a better map somewhere. I know how to get there by the land marks mostly and turns. There's no signs that say "Adult Disneyland" :) next 20 km.

About your post: First of all, there is a reason many Korean women don't like to put on condoms--it implies they are a *****/prostitute/chong-nyo. We are not that far removed from a society that experienced sex only on the first day of marriage, and sex was for having children, not pleasure.

I would hope that Korean prostitutes don't think that Korean males don't have diseases, since more than half of Korean men visit *****s while drunk, and don't use a condom, a dangerous combination (this was in the Korea Herald, so take that for what it's worth).

Second of all, communicable disease are rampant in Korea. I have heard estimates of up to 25% of people have Hepatitis (due to food sharing). I have also heard that many women have "minor" STDs like chlmydia and gonnorea (sp?) (%20-30%). But, they don't know it because women do not have symptoms (only men do).

Also, the Korean hospitals in some cases are still way behind as far as treating these diseases because the doctors also have this idea that Korean women could NEVER have STDs, so, after a women is treated, she thinks she is cured,w hen in fact she is not.

As far as white guys being served, well that has been the norm for a while, but I have never really had that problem (too much).

I would like to comment on some other aspects of your post, but seriously doubt "Jackson" would post it, as he has on occasion refused to post my messages regarding the hypocrisy and politics of sex in Korea.

So, I will leave it at that.

After discussing with trusted Korean friends more and more and asking the girls firsthand (plus having my Korean friends ask on my behalf about this) at Yong Joo Gol, I have came to the conclusion that Yong Joo Gol is the most "anti-foreigner" of all the RLDs. If there are, for example, about 100 shops in YJG, I speculate that only less than 3 or 4 will serve foreigners (other than Japanese), and even at that, only the fat/ugly ones will come to you. (needless to say, the ones who may accept you are on the isolated alleyways)

If you were lucky enough to get a 'hit' at a place as anti-foreigner as 588 or Yongsan, good luck trying to find any lovin in YJG, because they are even more "anti-foreigner"..it came to the point where the YJG girls pretty much find it "taboo" to be with a foreigner and they are also worried about what the other girls / customers / pimps / managers might say if they took one in. It's as if all the girls consider it "low class" to be with a foreigner. It doesn't matter how good you look, they will reject you.

For one thing, the shops are all out in the open, with a lot of girls and their managers / pimps watching you all the time. The girls are all in groups of their shops and as you walk by and they will shout and scream for you if you're Korean / look Korean, but if you look even remotely foreigner, they will all stare and keep quiet, ignore you, etc. and then, the pimps stare at you, as they all hang out in front of their parked cars watching to make sure things are ok.

Like what Moolman said, there are indeed Korean soldiers wandering around the streets, as well as certain groups of rowdy drunk Korean men, especially during the late evenings. YJG is not exactly a friendly atmosphere if you're a foreigner wanting to find some excitement in this vast quiet outskirts of land. If you're Korean though, this place is heaven. Not worth the trip out to YJG for foreigners in my opinion.

Holy Cow 350,000? I was trying t figure that out with regrads to, say, Thailand.

In Bkk, the top-flight girls at Spazo and Rivas and Cm2, some at the Hard Rock, look for about B4000-5000/night. Considering Thailand has a per Capita GNP about five times less than Korea, that would be B20,000-25,000 in Korea? Or about $500-600.

So, although that W350,000 seems like a lot, in comparison I guess you made out OK.

But, I suppose you then would have to adjust it for average expat income. Teachers in Bkk get (guessing) between $750-1000/month on average. In Korea it's about $2000/month on average. So, with regards to that, it seems maybe you over paid a bit.

But, what about non-ESL expat professionals? I would dare say those in Bkk get more in Seoul than in Bkk, so maybe you got a bargain.

I personally would not have bothered. Although, I find it interesting that so many girls are available outside the RLDs nowadays (CRQ, on-line in general, discos). Considering the rapidly increasing materialism in Korea, I wonder if that scene could one day soon be more prolific than RLDs.

I agree with you but I also disagree on some points. To most, it might sound like you're trying to discourage foreign guys from YJG so you can keep it non-Korean free. Because in a sense you don't want to ruin it with a lot of foreigners trying to go there. I would encourage foreign guys to at least try to get service at YJG. Apparently, they do because "nico" says he got service there. Of course he said he got the taxi driver to help him, so he didn't get to pick. Hey, if anybody who barely knows the language has the balls to travel far and wide for pussy, I have to give him credit and will help him. Man, if you can find the place ok and don't end up in North Korea, you deserve to get served at YJG.. haha.. anyway, just be aware that you might not get service so don't get pissed if you go all the way there and spend the 50K for a taxi round trip and come back empty. Also, the warnings about going there and the semi-dangers for foreigners are real and any punter here should know, it's not BS. Be safe fellow punters. This hobby of ours is for pleasure but not worth bodily harm...right. Those cards are all around Korea not just around RLD. :) They leave that stuff on cars, all around bars, etc. Most likely, it is for outcall service to you hotel room. The price last time I checked was 70K, could of gone up since that was maybe a year ago. The girls of course do not even look close to what's pictured. It's a toss up on what you will get since you don't get to choose, the girl just comes to your room. Also, on previous posts, non-Korean speakers have said that they would just hang up if you speak to them in English. So Korean might be necessary since it's doubtful they speak English.

Amen to that, Seoul Brother. Time and again, we have discovered that the ladies dislike the WSG reports. Yet time and again, some fool will go ahead and blab all about it, thus ruining the experience for us pioneers.
