Pretty damn good deal. You also get free 24/7 internet in the room now (network cable) which I've been meaning to add to the reports about this place.

Comfortable rooms, though hopefully the new lifts are in place by now, as the old ones set new records in slowness.

About the only problem is just about everyone I wish to meet want to meet in Senayan, and also wonder why the hell you are staying up that way (and are reluctant to go that far to see you).

Of course, if most of your contacts are in Mangga Dua/ Kota, or you just want the Kota experience, then - perfect.

Double check the lifts before booking, though- when I was there last month, the construction was bad, and took one lift out of operation, so there was only *one* old lift working!

Took a look on line- the cheapest rate I could find for mid-Oct, when I'll be there was IDR 570K. I'm trying to do some research for an up coming trip can someone please tell me where I'll find Travel Hotel? I,ve googled it can't find it anywhere. I'm a newbie to Jarkata will be my first trip.

Read the forum, the answer has been given many times.

A new hotel and were doing cheap rates - the style is very modern and cosy but the rooms are small. The bed takes up the whole room so a nice touch and the shower is seperated from the bed area by a glass so little way that your guest can cover up before you begin your assault on her senses.

About RPh600k overnight including breakfast and a change in that area from Accor - a nice addition and the satay kambing is near to hand and Jln Jaksar walking distance for old times sake

Hey Oyenk, thanks for the link, however I chuckled when I looked at the above web page, as there's no evidence whatsoever that Malioboro offers massages and is in fact one of the larger brothels in Jakarta, with over 60 females from Indonesia, Thailand, Spain, Russia/Kazakhstan/Uzbekistan and China on duty :-)

Similar for the Sumo Shiatsu website, but at least this latter site mentions "massage" as being available.

Obviously the web pages don't include this info for legal reasons, nevertheless it is strange to see the photos of the empty lounges in both places, knowing that these lounges are normally filled with women.

Tried out the spa last night. Got a good massage and at the end the lady asked if I want "special massage". I asked how much and she said IRD300k! I immediately said no and left it at that. She wasn't even attractive! Actually, I saw a few of the MLs while waiting for my turn and none of them really did anything for me. Elephants, Dinos or toothpicks.

In the end, decided to check out Club Manhattan. Was pretty dead. Had 1 mama-san come up to me to show of her wares, but they didn't look good at all even in the dark. I know it sounds like I've got high standards here, but honestly, they didn't! Saw the mama-san and one of her girls at the hotel lobby later as well and if confirmed why I thought they were hiding in the darkest corner of the club.

Anyway, would appreciate if any bros got any advice on anywhere nearby the hotel that I can venture out to get some action?

I'll be arriving there in a week or two. At 5:30 AM in the morning. Will Kaha or another hotel booking counter be open in the airport, or should I book ahead of time online? Should have no problems finding a metered taxi at that time, but the Khaha desk will be closed

Just got a job assignment 'back' to Jkt. Lived before but outside of town, this time office will be in Menteng near Bappenas. I need a place to live, not to expensive and would even be willing to share with another expat of the same mindset. I'm 61, not a boozer but like a good beer and a good lay from time to time. Any suggestions or offers out there looking for a roomy?

I recently completed a long term assignment at Bappenas, and am now working outside Indonesia. I had a deluxe two-bedroom apartment on the 6th floor of Puri Imperium, 5 minutes away from Jl. Taman Suropati (Bappenas).

The unit overlooks the swimming pool and tennis court. The cost of the well-furnished apartment, not including electricity or broadband internet was $1250, which I thought was a bargain.

A 42" plasma TV, internet connection and other features are included in price. The tenant must pay for electricity and internet usage.
