Even if you still end up paying the 50, it is still registered with management that there may well be a problem. With something like CIM this can be hard to prove and will likely come down to your perception of the event vs hers. As I say, you might not get financial satisfaction but the girl will get noticed.

The other option is to simply not go with her any more and write a balanced report here stating your case.

No wants to go have a great argument at reception over what the correct charge was. Has never happened to me. However I may have been ripped off over time on an odd occasion. I have 2, from my bank which has a daily withdrawal limit and recently one from Schwab (a great suggestion from Breadman) that doesn't have a limit (and returns ALL ATM fees) , neither charge foreign exchange fees (big cost factor). Both give me the current exchange rate (another big cost factor) for date of the withdrawal.

If you go this route, look for:

No foreign exchange fee,

You get the current exchange rate, and

You get ATM fees returned.

It took about 2 weeks to get the Schwab account setup, funded and to receive the card.

Breadman and I don't agree on many things, but he sure had a winner suggestion with the Schwab card.
