George Sims, BabyHuey & Super Gato are both very knowledgeable dudes and give you excellent info/advice. Super Gato, I love your term "puta English", it gave me a good laugh. Been three weeks since I hit NLBT. I plan on going to NLBT Saturday night for some Valentines Day/Noche Panocha.

I am one of the victims of the NLBT Policia planting a knife in the back seat of my extended cab truck back in the winter of 2007. Fortunately I was able to talk/bluff my way out of the problem. And I was not extorted out of a large sum of dinero, a mordida/bribe to make the problem go away. I do not drive my truck to Mexico/NLBT any more. I always take a taxi now.

Always carry a small amount of dinero in your wallet. Stash the rest of your dinero in your socks/shoes. The NLBT Policia has removed my wallet and gone through it 4 times under the premise of looking for drugs/cocaine. The Policia will double team you for a search/pat down. One Policia will try to distract you while the other Policia is going through your wallet and counting your dinero. I always turn around and keep an eagle eye on the Policia that has my wallet. So far they have not taken/stolen any dinero from me. But if they did, there ain't shit you could do about it but grin & bear it.

Which is the safest Tx border town now out of Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa or Matamoros? I have spent alot of times in N. L. Over the years but haven't been in about 2 years. I know N. L. Very well and have never had a problem. But the cops are getting out of hand from alot of visitors reports and seems like they want to drive visitors away. I was thinking of trying Reynosa or Matamoros but haven't been lately and don't know if they are any better. I am a very experienced traveller and speak fluent spanish but the reports about. N. L. In particular have seemed to gotten worse and worse. And now seems like the policia are causing visitors more trouble than anything else. What can I expect in Reynosa or MATAMOROS? And which is better out of reynosa or Matamoros? I never thought I would be concerned about safety in N. L. Since I have partied alone many times there in Centro and Boystown and regular clubs too. But I will try to visit somewhere else if possible. Please advise.

My Friends and I are all pilot and we are thinking about taking a trip to BT. We plan on flying from Houston to Laredo. Is it pretty easy to get to the bridge from the airport? Should we rent a car or just take a taxi? The reason we are going is to have a good time and get laid. I am fluent enough in Spanish to get by. The other two guys are gringo as they come. What should be our plan of action. We plan on getting there around 5-6 pm should we arrive earlier so it is not dark when we cross into Mexico? Should we all get separate rooms? Any help would be appreciated.

You can take a taxi to the bridge from the airport for around 20 dollars. Stay at the Fiesta, there are several sets of directions to get there but just walk straight across, stay on the main street for a couple of blocks then go to the left (east) for 1 block then turn right. It is just past the Herradura on the left. Maybe 6 blocks from the bridge.

Please advise.[/QUOTE]All the border towns you mention are the same to me, may be the safer one is Progreso but it is not much to see, just the KOKO BOMBO, La oficina, and the bar outside the city by the toll highway.

I have a particular favorite there as far as blondes go (but I'm not usually turned on by blondes). Her name is Soriah (sp) (pronounced sore-eye-ahh). She is about 5'4" -5'6" and would be now 25 I think. She is thin and blond. She has 4 kids but her abs and pussy are still tight. She speaks only puta english (thanks for that one SG). She will ask for $130, but I only pay her $110 including the room, and then I actually give her 1100 pesos which would actually only be about $80. YMMV but I have a good time with her. I don't know about her spending a long time with any one, or group, of customers as she tends to appear out of thin air whenever I walk in. She seems to like to fuck, but there are a lot of girls there that are content to sit and drink all night and make their $4.00 ficha for every drink. I am thinking about coming to NL this fall. I have read reports about the police starting to harass more and more. My question is are they randomly stopping people inside the compound or people driving their own cars or what is the story. I usually come down once a year and and stay on the Mexican side at the Fiesta Inn. I take a cab to bt and usually pick up a lady, either door girl or club girl and take her back for the evening. The hotel rooms are all outside entrance into the parking lot and the cab drops off right at the guard shop so I do not have to walk through the lobby with my date. The rooms are little expensive, but hey it works for me.

I was in Tijuana last spring walking down the side walk when a cop pull me aside and said I was talking to a drug dealer. (I. E. One of the many Tijuana official tourist guides was offering his services). Anyway pretty much had to pay him off $40. 00. Kind of turned me off Tijuana being my first visit.

Anyway if that is the way BT is getting I will probably give it up. I do like to walk around and check the door girls before hitting a club. If this is the case where I can not just walk around and look with out worrying about getting into jail. Is this the case or not.

speedstick, i go to nlbt on a very regular basis, ususally every two weeks. and have been going to nlbt on & off for 30 years since i was a young pup.

the only harassment from the pinche pendejo nlbt policia is when you enter the complex. i would estimate/guesstimate that the nlbt policia search 99. 9% of the people upon entering nlbt complex. it doesn't matter whether you are in a private vehicle or in a taxi.

the policia search inside private vehicles-interior & trunk. but i have never seen the policia search the interior or trunk of a taxi. they ask the ocupants of private vehicles & taxis to exit the vehicle for a prequisite spread eagle pat down/search against the trunk of the vehicle. they will ask if you have a knife or drugs on you and then pat you down. they will remove the contents of your front pockets and place it on the trunk. sometimes the pinche pendejo policia will remove your wallet from your back pocket under the premise of looking for drugs. they will look through every little nook & cranny of your wallet while they are actually counting your dinero. one policia will usually try to distract you while the other policia has your wallet. keep your eyes on the policia with your wallet. only carry a small amount of dinero in your wallet. stash the rest in your socks/shoes. so far the policia has probably removed my wallet 6 times. they have not five fingered/stolen any dinero yet. but if the policia did steal your dinero, there ain't shit you could do about it but grin & bear it. they have 9mm pistolas & machine guns.

i have not been harassed by the policia walking around the complex. i went to nlbt two weeks ago saturday, feb. 14. after the pat down/search. the pinche pendejo policia removed my wallet, went through it and counted my dinero. handed my wallet back to me and then let me go. had less than $50 in my wallet. a week ago, friday night feb. 20 i went to nlbt/papagayo's for the fiesta de carnival at papa's. the taxi stopped, the policia turned his flashlight on, shined it inside the taxi. and then waved us through without me having to get out for the prequisite pat down/search. that was a pleasant shock/suprise.

sometimes the nlbt are super aggressive pinche pendejos when they search you. and other times they are not, they are ok. it's like russian roulette, you never know what the nlbt policia will be like until you get there.

i am always respectful of the nlbt policia even when they are aggressive pinche pendejos. just use common sense, be respectful of everyone while visiting in their country. don't get wasted drunk, act like a fool and pull any stunts that would cause the policia to want to arrest you. being an out of control borracho/drunk, loud mouth, ugly, arrogant, obnoxious american gringo will most likely get ya' a tour of the holdng cell in the nlbt office/jail. i have seen gringos & mexicanos like this get arrested in nlbt. they think they can do anything they like/want to while they are a visitor in a foreign country-mexico.

I vividly remember my first time going there about 18 monhts ago. You just cannot substitute for the first experience! However over time BT noticed lose some appeal (like most things in life). I had a hard time finding stunners over there (BT), maybe saw 1-2. Maybe I am way too picky, but if I am going to have to pay for the service I should find the one I like. (Thankfully, I am financially well off thanks to dozen years of USA Education.) I even saw my favorite girl change over the course of 12 months (become mechanical service oriented girl). I guess that is an inevitable transformation. What I notice is that I see these young girls in early 20s having had 3-4 children trying to make best situation.

I did not have problem with police or local vnders. I especially like to talk (I speak some spanish) local people. I like to walk around to see the community and bravely try some foods. I guess these are things I miss about my visit.

I did visit Juarez before and the mongering place is huge. But I find the quality pretty comparable though I like the surrounding area better in Laredo, TX.

I think I am making necessary upgrades in my mongering activity as I am going to Thailand, China, Korea and Japan in coming months. I think I may be experiencing that the law of diminishing marginal return over time as mongering activity continues.

I've been a lurker for a while, occasionally making a dash to the border Saturday using your information. Thanks to everyone for that.

No police hassles, I got out of the taxi and they groped my pockets at the BT entrance looking for pills, and went thru my wallet but didn't attempt to take money. I had most of it in my socks.

I was happy to read that one of my Danash favs, Soriah was still around, which helped persuade me to make the BT run a couple days ago. Shortly upon arrival at Danash, I got accosted by another fav, Karina, so I disappeared with her for an hour. She was outstanding as usual. Then Soriah stopped by to say a quick hello, but she was occupied. I was waiting around for her and enjoying the scenery when I saw her walk out in her street clothes. The waiter explained the guy took her for a casa visit and she would be gone at least 2 hours. Bummer. No sign of another fav from a year or so ago, Faviola.

I decided to check out a couple different clubs. Senoritas had a couple nice looking girls, but not up to Soriah standards. Then I made a pass thru 1-2-3 which is new to me. Kinda loud, bright, and I only saw one girl that looked OK. Papagayos was dead, with a smattering of unappealing chicas that looked like they were ready to tackle me. I was done.

That leads me to some questions for the veterans. Danash now wants $20 per every 30 minutes for a room. Is that normal, or am I paying the gringo price? And before (like a year ago) I'd at least get a towel, but not this time. They suck.

What are the going rates at the other clubs for rooms and girls? I want top quality and I'll pay, but I don't like getting ripped off. How do I get a better price than $120 +$20 for Soriah?

Well, most of the better clubs have gone to the $20 for the room. Some give you an hour, but unfortunately, some only 30 minutes. The girls at 123 go for $60-$80. Pappagayos is going to be $80-$100. Senoritas is about the same as Pappa's. You already know Danash's going rates, but you have to negotiate the whole hour. Make sure your girl knows that the $20 is for the whole hour, and she will work it out with the Nana.

I don't think I would get an hour unless it was a girl I already knew, or if I wanted to extend the session. My experience is that on a Saturday night, it's probably futile to negotiate with the top chicas to save 10 or 20 dollars. I'll have to stop by 1-2-3 and Senoritas first next time, since I only glanced in for a couple minutes. Also, what is the towel policy at those places? I know Papa's offers nice clean ones and you can get an extra for $2, and the Nana at Danash sometimes has used ones out drying (come on you lazy POS, do something for the $20! ).

To continue the topic of searches at the entrance, I've had the police find a tablet of vitamin V loose in my friend's pocket, and they got real excited. "What is this? " thinking it was some illegal drug. He just smiled and said "Viagra" and they all laughed and gave it back. It's like they use incidents like this to keep themselves amused. I always take it before walking over the bridge.

It took a long time to get a taxi last time. There were already a couple guys waiting (going other places). There was a taxi parked there with no one in it and we were all standing around. Then a Mexican guy came up to me and said "Taxi?" I said "Si" and walked over. Incredibly, this Mexican dude thought that I (a gringo with light hair) was the driver of the taxi! Yeah, everyone thinks I'm a taxi driver in NL!! We all had a good laugh about that one!

The policia didn't think they had found an ilegal drug, they thought they found a patsy. They know what Viagra looks like. They were just hoping your friend would get nervous and scared and they could hit him up for a mordida. They laugh it off when they realize your not worried about it. I tend to take one before I head out and another later on that night, usually about 4 or 5 hours later.
