For those who want to stay away from Moscow and St. Petersburg I recommed any siberian city which is big enough.

First on the list is Ekaterinburg which is amateur porn capital of Russia, then Novosibirsk "capital" of Siberia, Krasnoyarsk which is a little on the average side but girls are not demanding, etc. These are big places milion and up, foreigners are not a usual thing exept for backpackers, etc. But my favourite city is Ulan-Ude, I just love those Buryati chicks who are in dilemma to keep their modest behaviour as tradition calls or just keep it slutty as they really are. SeanEZ I have a good friend living in Moscow, he is from Vladivostok, and travelling in west Russia for business, he told me, that almost every city out of Moscow and Piter are the same and no differences. So I just choose almost random from cities where s7 flyes and I start to collect contacts from mail.ru.

Regarding Samara, Latexian2 wrote good, I forgot the names, but now I remember, so I add few lines.

Aura and Zvezda are almost the only two discos there, but they work only on friday and saturday. Never been to zvezda but about Aura on saturday night, it is very packed and I was the oldest one there, I am 34yo, almost only teenager and even if I spoke with a couple of girls and I was the only one turist there, they did not seem interested.

Metallica was told from many taxi it is a place it does not worth, never been there, but I went almost every night, it is open 7 days per week to Polet, it is in two floors, full of students but I was almost the only one not drunk and once I had 3 skinheads came to me asking where I am from, I was for a bit afraid, but at the end they thought I was maybe from Cecenia or something like that, I am white skin but dark hair and eyes and when I said I am italian, they just laugh and it was ok. Another problem with Polet that first time I went there the 2 bodyguards did not want to let me inside, second day with a girl, she said I was her host and it was ok.

Even if you stay in center of Samara, actually the so called center is only a 4-500 metrs street called, if I remember well, lenina ulica, you are still far from the clubs but ok, in this street you have good restaurant, the best one is Marlin, but pay attention, enough expensive...

The best experience from Samara was then the man called from the taxi came up with the girl to check if I really lived alone in the flat and in that moment I asked her phone number, so from that day I was able to get pros directly delivered to my flat. The best memories the last day when I told him, tomorrow I leave, he arrived with another friend, so 2 cars and 8 girls to choose, 1 hour about 54 euro.....great for sure !!!!

However for me Ufa is much better, gave me the feeling of much more wealthy city and as muslim country you have girl more mixed and beautiful.

Wherever you go, go to sauna and let them call girls or use taxi to call man who deliver girls and ask him phone number so second time you avoid to pay the fee to taxi driver and so it get really cheap :)

If not Samara or Ufa I would give a chance to real Siberia as Tomsk or Omsk, but I believe to my friend, once you left Moscow and Piter no big difference where you end.

SeanEZ read also what I wrote about Piter, cause even now I am not so sure it worth it to go so far to provincial Russia, cause the quality is more or less as you find in Piter, the prices too using photomodeli.ru but at least Piter is a really great city and you have disco as Rossi's where is open everyday and full of students....to make long short, check provincial Russia but if it does not work as you want, not spend so much time as I did and comeback asap to Piter.... imho.

I think for an inexperienced foreigner wanting to go to the provinces the easiest locations in terms of travel and accomodation are the golden ring (yaroslavl and vladimir in particular).

However, if you want to try something more adventurous I would recommend the old cities in european russia (Smolensk, Oryol, Voronezh, Bryansk, Pskov, etc.). These are all relatively close to Moscow (5-10 hours by train) and tend to be pretty impoverished compared to the Volga/Urals region which means things are slightly cheaper and girls somewhat lower class (good for quick scoring). But most importantly they tend to be more compact and interesting from an architectural and historical point of view so even if you are waking up at 2pm every day after boozing/partying/fucking all night you can still spend an enjoyable afternoon at a few museums or just strolling (gulyating).

I also wanted to expand on what I said about clubs. If you ask girls on the street what the best clubs are, the answer they give you are almost certainly clubs you want to avoid. I talked about Aura in Samara. That club is double to triple the cover charge of other clubs (500 RUR instead of 150 or 200) and the only cheap beer is some horrible Russian ale that was 200 RUR a bottle (80RUR a pint in the other clubs). And when I went the ratio was actually more men than women and most of the girls were with guys (who were paying for them). What this means is that these elite clubs are of course what a girl will tell you to go to, because she wants you to take her and she would never go to such a club by herself or with her girl friends (except maybe for special occasions such as a birthday party). It's much better to find the normal or even cheap clubs where girls go to let off steam on fri/sat for cheap and to dance and go wild, instead of the elite clubs where they can hardly afford a single cocktail unless you're buying.

About Samara, Lukasek is right. Aura and Zvezda are two only real places for night time, they are open only of Friday and Saturday. Aura is only for high school kids, and even younger people goes there so it can be problematic. In the style you talk to the girl who says she's 20 years old but in fact she's 15.

In Zvezda is little better, older crowd mainly students. Popular place for students of SGAU, but when I was in Samara in January it was closed, there was a fire in the New Year. Don't know if it's open now.

Mettalica and Polet are opened every night. Mettalica is not bad place if you can handle loud music. I was there several times on gothic night. You know chick with dark clothes, dark har and make up he he. Polet is good also but problem is as Lukases said most of the guests are drunk. Polet serves cheap drinks but many guests bring their own drinks bought in the stores so they get drunk even harder. Also in polet fights are normal things. It is usaly in the style Lenin reon against October reon where 20-30 guys from one part of the town fight against similar group from other part of the town. Then police comes and close the club so it is ruined evening.

Samara is transportation problem because Samara actually became city only in soviet times and before that it was a gubernia of 16 villages and also not much was invested in unfrastructure. Because Samara during soviet times was closed city because of the military and aerospace industry. So free travell of the people was not allowed. Much more was invested and done in the city close to Samara - Ulanovsk. Which is normal becuase lenin was born there.

P4p is not widespread in Samara but sure something can be fins in the city of almost 1,2 million people. Taxi mafia is always helpful but I also heard there are sw in Gagarina street. I checked this but nothing much it looks like nothings is happening there, I've seen only few sw middle aged and with great mileage.

I once spent 4 months in Samara and it's not that bad for me now but I wouldn't recommend Samara to someone who is sitting at home and thinks "I want to go to Russia and which city to visit? Samara maybe?"

If comared to Samara Ufa is much better choice in every aspect. I've been to Ufa several times for a short staying but it was very obvious Ufa is more modern place. Oil money is there with foreign investments while in Samara there mostly state owned companies. Ufa has a large muslim population (Bashkirs and Tatars) but 54% of population are not muslims. So it is like in other russian cities with large muslim population Ufa wants to show it self as modern and cosmopolitan place and not a place where some backward islamist live. So they are very open to everythnig "modern". People are very open and willing to help in everyway. But in my opinion this is typical behaviour in Russia, not becuase they like you or respect you but becuase they want somethnig from you (mostly your money). I beleiev many here will agree. While in Samara typical attitude is "this is Russia and we don't care for you". I like Samara because of that somehow.

So Lukases said it right outside Moscow and piter is more or less the same with some differences. In Moscow many people regard St. Petersburg as province also. In Siberia I would recommend Ekaterinburg and Novosibirsk for sure. Big places Novosibirsk is among 5 biggest russian cities) and they offer everythnig you can think off. The only problem is they are far away. Yes there are flights to there but I usually go by train. You meet various people when travelling few days by train, girls included which can be good afterwards. Also the problem is climate it is cold even in summer.

And Lukasek is basically right. I think there's no real need for a foreigner to go to any other place in Russia besides Moscow and St. Petersburg. Maybe there's some good reason like business trip or some really hot girl (on the scale 1-10 she's like 12+) which for some reason refuses to leave her home city and doesn't want to meet you in Moscow even if you pay for the trip. But she promised 10 days of wild sex and this is reason to visit her.

In provinces I don't think it will be superior in anything and if you're interested in siberian girls I'm sure there's plenty of them in Moscow.

We can see in this forum from time to time people ask for advices on some provincial city but never post any useful report about it. Which probably it can mean two things:

1. Their visit to that provincial city never happened and they have nothing to say.

2. They went there and hundreds of girls heard about their coming and stand in line to spread their legs for them. So now they keep it as a secret and don't want to share it with us here on forum.

Think which of this two is more realistic option.

Also if we check Russia forum for other cities (beside Moscow and St. Petersburg) they are pretty much dead. Which speaks enough for russian provinces. Once I was in Yakutsk in the middle of winter and there's not much to report about that place. Russian guy there simply told me "It's very cold here to do anythnig. To keep warm you should find a woman or vodka. Vodka is much easier to find".

There are interesting places around Moscow, like 2 hours away by train. Beside Yaroslav and Vladmir good option are also Tver, Kaluga, Tula and Rjazan. But for those who are charmed by Moscow most of this places don't have much to offer so they will problabyl be disspointed.

Pskov is good option for those staying in St. Petersburg since it's close to it.
But Pskov is basically huge military base where like half population of the place is military personell. And great number of girls have somehow strick patriarchate/soviet/military upringing which makes thing hard. In the style "my father is military colonel and I must be at home by 22:00".

But I new the trick I told them I didn't came to Samara to spend my time in some noisy night club full of smoke, etc. It worked and we spend the night (and later also) with buying the beer and snacks in the store and walked down the Volga, talking. And this continued latter at my place so it was much better option.

The advantages of the provinces is very easy and simple, if you are determined to hold to your principles to limit mongering to university and institute students age 18-19 years, with an occaisional cheating to 20 or 21 years, but only to be generous and not a real asshole about it.

First advantage is accomodations. To get a nice apartment that every dyevochka is really impressed with, on the very center of the main street in the city center, it is never cheap, but in the provinces, it is still affordable, which is not possible in Moscow or St. Pitr, AND to save a lot of money on food by doing all my own cooking and also cooking for my girfriends instead of taking them to restaurants too. I only need to walk 4 blocks to a new upscale supermarket that has anything I need, but it is not cheap at all, 2 bags full of groceries will cost me 2000 rubles, but its all top quality with ikra and Beluga, or I can go 3 blocks the other way to the open bazaar to get fresh fruits, nuts, and vegetables, fish, eggs, cheese, fresh baked bread, its just very easy and conveniant. I don't even lose weight anymore when I go. Plus the rose market is there, evey dyev gets fresh flowers, except the escorts.

After internet girls and sponsorships, the new girls from the escort agencies still only cost 3000-4000 rubles for 2 hours, and if they are great, they come back for half price. The escort services are not doing good business with the crisis, so if they bring any dyevs I refuse, they always come back within a day or two with someone fresh and new.

And you can get phone numbers for freebies by being persistant and polite, from any cute girls that work in the bank, the mobile phone store, waitresses, etc.

If I try the same in Moscow or St. Pitr, it might work if I was young and attractive, but I'm not, so I does what I can where I can when I can, and it all works out fine. For me.... ;)

So the more you guys think the provinces are not the best option, the better. PLEASE follow the advice of these experts and stay in Moscow and St. Pitr!! :D

I myself LIKE older women around 30 (its old for some of you guys, NOT for me) I myself have a different approach When Blake introduces me to a crowd of people ( I dont have very good social skills) we go for dinner and drinks like 7 or 8 people sometimes more. I totally agree. My main concern is I can't get bottle service at a club in Moscow (and my fav ones are Rai and Opera at the time I went). It literally costs thousands of dollars. Even when you go on a date, starting out with dinner + taxis + an all nighter at a club you are down 500 bucks at the end of the night.

Whereas in Minsk you pay a minimal cover, get a best table at club Africa, hookah, appetizers, a bottle of vodka with chasers, and a few drinks for the girls and the bill is hardly $100. I spoke to a friend who lives in Yaroslavl', she told me there is a new club, the table (with bottles) cost 3500 roubles. And that's not far from Moscow at all. I am sure it's similar in the provinces.

I love the abundance and quality of gucci-clad Moscow girls, the way people know how to party, the food, etc. I only wish I could afford it more often! Good thing a dollar buys you more roubles now, at least for now.

Frankly after reading your quite depressing (and undoubtedly very accurate) description of a typical russian provincial city like Samara, I really don't understand why adventurous mongers in search of untapped "Lost El Dorados" rarely consider Tashkent as a valuable option.

It's the third largest city in FSU after Moscow and SPb, cost of life is ridiculously cheap, apartment rentals are easy to arrange, people are hospitable and non-threatening, street crime is non-existent, there's a profusion of incredibly diverse tall and good looking women of all hues (incl. lots of russian-ethnic dyevs), an astonishingly good regular nightlife with lots of great "in" cafes and a dozen of happening clubs where drinks cost next to nothing, four or five defined P4P locations (discos) with tons of not overly jaded quality russian pussy for reasonable rates, ect ...

I'm admittedly not as well-travelled in this part of the world as most of you guys but IMHO Tashkent blows many other FSU destinations (incl russian provinces) out of the water.

About provinces it is a simple deal.

Somebody will find it good and simple and somebody will not.

For me provinces are much better than Moscow or St. Petersburg.

In Russian my plan is simple: stay as much possible and spend as less as possible. Spending 500$ a night in Moscow is somethnig I don't wanna do.

But I can stay in Russia for two months and spend less than 500$ on everythnig you can imagine.

Sean when you talk about spending 100$ when was it? Few years back maybe? Night time in Minsk is not that cheap anymore. Check club "Next" for example where entrance will cost you 50-100$ per person. In the last few years Minsk wants to be Moscow's little brother with saying "When Moscow farts Minsk stinks". In Russian provinces it is the same there are some very cheap places but also very expencive. For local standards, for Moscow it is cheap. In Yaroslav 3500 roubles is half of somebody's monthly salary.

Proposal he he please don't call my report depressing. Because I want to show things as they are. In Russian streets you will see many people who look depressing and angry as foreigners will describe them but in Russian opinion Russians are happy people.

About Tashkent probably there are some logistical problems to go ther like getting a visa (not much embassies in the world) air flights (Moscow is much better connected) and probably thinking Tashkent is muslim place. And when you say "many of blond haired blue eyed Russian-ethnic dyevs" basically they are mostly of german origin (Stalin ordered massive moving of Volga Germans in 1941) and also of Polish origin (Stalin ordered massive moving of Poles from eastern Poland in 1944 which is now western Ukraine and Belarus). For example I know for sure (checked local archives) that Polish population of belarus town of Novogrudok (Poles made more than 60% of total population)was moved to Tashkent and Bishkek in October and November 1944.

I spent 2 months in Minsk in the winter of 2008. I used to frequent Africa and Madison. They were particularly packed on Sundays/Mondays with college chicks. There are a couple of other clubs that are somewhat more expensive because they serve expensive cocktails. Same girls. I find it hard to believe that a club in Minsk charges 50 to enter. 150,000-300,000 roubles cover? I haven't been to Next, must be a new club, there must have been some concert or an event. Read again what I ordered (with Belarusian bottle of vodka), it was always under 100.

Cheaper college clubs like Alcatraz, Max Show you can get vodka shot for a buck. The most expensive cocktail was at a small place (nice date place, always empty on weeknights), I forget the name now, behind the big palace, enter through small alley, small outdoor dance floor, lounge chairs upstairs, strawberry mojitos were like 50K (so over 20 dollars back then).

I haven't been to Next, but hit a lot of other clubs there - Alkatraz, Goodwin, Madison, Bronx... and none were even close to the prices for Next. How do they get anyone in there? BTW, I found it was just as easy in Minsk to pick up girls in Il Patio or Planeta Sushi as in the clubs - and a lot cheaper. White God factor is very high, especially if you're a Westerner who speaks fluent Russian.

As for Yaroslav - heard lots of good things, but it's small... hard to cover your mongering tracks if you intend to stay there very long.

Next club in Minsk is new place opened in January 2009. It is located in Crown plaza hotel which is very expencive so the club it self is also expencive. There's also club Black Door in Minsk which is expencive also.

The problem for the high prices is people coming from Moscow to Minsk for party. Those people have money but not enough for Moscow. But their money is big for Minsk. Also a easy pick up girl in Minsk has a very good chances she's not from Minsk at all but from Russia mostly Moscow. There are many students from Russia in Minsk because Minsk is much cheaper place for study. Many of those people actually claim to be from Minsk for various reasons one of the main is that Moscow is not a very popular in Minsk.

St. Petersburg is more prefered. In Minsk club scene is simple every place must have two permits from the government. One from ministry of economy and one from ministry of interior. This two permits are hanged near the club entrance and must be renewed every 4 months. Now some people from Moscow bring their money and open new club and bribe someone in the government to close some club to pick up the clients.
