Is it worth visiting the Philippines at Easter?
Does anyone have a view on whether it is worth visiting the Philippines around the Easter holidays? The last time I was in Manila / Makati at Easter (admittedly about 6 years ago) , everywhere was closed (or dead) on Good Friday, Black Saturday and Easter Sunday, and I recall that (in addition to the gogo bars) even the restaurants were closed, so we had to go to a hotel to eat. Also I believe that a lot of bar girls appeared to have taken the opportunity to go back to their provinces, so the week after Easter was quieter than usual as well.
Would any members with more recent experience care to comment? Secondly, is the situation at Easter perhaps better outside Manila / Makati. For example in Angeles City?
