Tales of misfortune and misery kind of got me down. Of course I was mostly to blame as I was hanging in places where down-on-their-luck women congregate: go go bars and the like. On this go I've almost exclusively met women found on dating sites and Craig's List and it has been one of the most enjoyable periods of my life.

Although the call center industry offers some hope, I think there's such a disjuncture between the education Philippine colleges provide and the actual needs of Philippine society and business that her employment situation may still not be that great. Or perhaps you coached this one in throat exercises so that you contributed to improving her English skills as well, and that alone could improve her chances for call center work.

Sometimes I wonder about that here in USA though. It never ceases to amaze me how arrogant English speaking people are when they decide to travel around the world. English may be a global language for business, but not for the masses. If you want to talk to girls, learn to speak their language. You will get so much more benefit from this small amount of effort than you ever thought possible. For most mongers, conversation is not really an important aspect for the time spent with the honeys in any nation. But showing those same honeys that you are interested in them enough to try speaking their native language just might get you a little more of the GFE. It worked great for me on multiple stints in South Korea, and the small amount of Tagalog I have learned has helped in Philippines as well. In any country, the girls you meet in mongering areas are most likely not the best for explaining local customs. Many of them travel far from their family homes to avoid the embarrassment of their family knowing what they are doing. If you want information on local customs and cultural tourism, you will most likely have better luck at a tourist information office.

Real life wake up small the coffee working hours (yes for a small salary but better than a stacking shelves at SM salary). I know some who have quit call centres twice and wonder why other call centres wnt take them.

Many talk about how hard working Filipinos are and I have done this on the forum and emlpoyed some but always overseas. Many here that I meet don't seem to understand that waking up at 7am and going to work is mandatory not optional LOL. Some I know happily ask me (seriously) what jobs can they do tht start in the afternoon as they like to sleep in.

Go figure but it is still more fun here as CS throat education pictures show.

They do not pay much she said. Besides it is not a regular contracted job. More like as needed basis. At least this is from her. Not sure if she was trying to elicit sympathy and more donation?

She seemed honest and stayed with me for three days except the time she had to go to work which varied from day to day. Not sure if she is in the training phase or actual job. She is well educated and has a business degree.

Problem is too many applying for same jobs. None of the jobs are permanent unless the girl gets government job. But to get a government job she needs good connections.

However I give it to these girls who take their life in stride. She told me she got a degree hoping to get out of Phi because she knows very well job opportunities in Phi are few and far between. Unfortunately she said all the foreign jobs require experience at least 2 years. Even after that it costs approx 24, 000 pesos to get the documents, medical, agency commission etc. Not all agencies are honest. Some just collect the money only.

Majority of the girls I met in Phi are smart. Even if some are not fluent in American English they try hard to learn.

In general wheels of life chugs along. Have not seen real malnourished people like we see on TV in Africa.

Was skimming thru some of the other forums last night. Africa, europe, india, middle-east. Makes me appreciative of the SE asia boards. Go take a look for yourselves: Difficulty finding girls, begging for girly information, over-priced ladies ($ hundreds / hour. Really!) , ladies who run off after the first finish, days between posts, photogalleries with more comments than pics.

India is really bad and the UAE is moving that way as the demographics of the country change (ie more Indian expats arrive). In the UAE I recently noted that paying AED 600 (around PHP7000) for a massage with FS and second HJ was a tad excessive and clearly way to much but put in context of the country etc. Also the CIS girls in the UAE get a bad reputation and IMHO rightly so as so many just drink the mini bar, get very drunk (and possibly violent as in the case of 2 good friends who ignored ny advice) and then disappear very early (ang maybe with some of your goodies). And that paying PHP 4000 for a 'mature' ugly PRC who already has shagged 2-4 guys that night is crazy but the environment is what drives that behaviour. More so when some ethnic groups just over pay and the girls will fleece them.

We are lucky in the Philippines and the board is self moderating so it is readbale, informative (if people RTFF) and enjoyable. Posters such CaliPro / THB etc tend to cme and then disappear after a few months when they get called out on some of their outrageous comments / views. And when some posters boast about saving $10-20 on a girls tip it really annoys as they don't realise how lucky they are in the country.

Does anyone have a view on whether it is worth visiting the Philippines around the Easter holidays? The last time I was in Manila / Makati at Easter (admittedly about 6 years ago) , everywhere was closed (or dead) on Good Friday, Black Saturday and Easter Sunday, and I recall that (in addition to the gogo bars) even the restaurants were closed, so we had to go to a hotel to eat. Also I believe that a lot of bar girls appeared to have taken the opportunity to go back to their provinces, so the week after Easter was quieter than usual as well.

Would any members with more recent experience care to comment? Secondly, is the situation at Easter perhaps better outside Manila / Makati. For example in Angeles City?
