Yes, Cinnamon Lakeside does not provide extras. Try the GOH (Grand Oriental Hotel) or Global Towers Hotel in Wellawatte.

I was in Sri Lanka lots of years ago. I found several cathouses in operation in Negombo, including two in motels. I also visited a place masquerading as a restaurant in Mount Lavinia that, once they knew I was interested, offered a lineup.
As I said, that was a lot of years ago. Are those types of places gone? On my last trip I scouted the scene in Colombo and then flew to Thailand because the scene is so much better there. With limited time, it's better to go for the sure thing.
Sri Lanka has nice beaches, though. And plenty of weed, although signs at the airport and hotels said using it was punishable by death. I have always lived dangerously.

You are quite right - The cathouse scene in Sri Lanka is fairly bleak. I am quite sure that the two places in Negombo and the one in Mount Lavinia would have been raided a long time ago and shut down. There are probably one or two relatively new cathouses in operation, but these are highly secretive and I myself don't know of any which offer good quality. If you read the recent report by Wonder World you will see that he has been able to find some action. The Police here adopt a punitive attitude to mongers by arresting and detaining customers even though they have not broken any law by patronizing such places.

Most reports say LP is crappy. So you are amoungst the majority.

I had never ever been to LP. Despite the rain, I decided to pay a visit to this so called legendary location. I intentionally delayed my visit by around 45 minutes in order to dry myself. Finally once I was ready for the visit and informed the guard about my interest, he asked me if I am a media person, or a policeman. When I said NO, he asked if I am going to have a look. I asked him what is wrong, and if everything is alright on the *** floor. He responded saying that the place was raided just now. Had I been there 15 minutes early, I would have got caught red handed.

I would rank the above as one of my luckiest escapes. I have been trapped in a similar event which took place overseas, even though they were not directly related to LEs. I just remembered how the Police in the other country helped me escape from the club owner while the opposite happens here in SL. Well by experience I know that red light districts are not quite safe, especially for foreigners unless if you know about the places well enough. If anyone is willing to listen to the story I would be quite happy to publishing here on ISG.

With regards to LP, I believe that it would be closed for a few weeks and reopen again. One observation which I like to spot is that the raid took place while it was raining heavily. It would have been quite unlikely for a monger to choose exactly that time of the day to visit LP, though I did. So I believe that it could happen at anytime anywhere under any conditions. Rainy days, public holidays, working hours or even days on which all roads are closed, are not safe.
