I just stayed in Jakarta 4 nights during Ramadan, here is a short summary of the findings of a Nordic bule.

Even the girls in Blok M may be reluctant to go there with you. There are some girls working Jalan Jaksa but for the most part you're looking at the lower end of the available girls in Jakarta.

If your budget for housing is USD 20-30 per night, then you may be in trouble! Try to boost your budget up to $40 or $50 a night if you can. RTFF and you'll learn about web sites that will help you find decent housing in that range. I also hope that you have money in your budget for "taxi money" for the ladies.

There is no one ideal location to stay at that is close to all the mongering places, as the mongering scene is pretty spread out between Kota in the north and Blok M and Kemang in the south. One suggestion would be to stay somewhere near the Jalan Sudirman to Jalan Hayam Wuruk north-south corridor (the route travelled by Route 1 of the Transjakarta busline).

In Philippines and Bangkok I'll be paying 20 USD a night so I will have extra money left over to swing into my Jakarta logistics budget. MS is right, you'll have to be someone very attractive to the girls to pull one back to a Jalan Jaksa lodging. The chances of pulling a "civilian" in CJs is very slim. I do know a few who do go there but they're not easy to get. There's a higher chance in BATS but still, the chances are they are working girls who will ask for at least twice (probably more) the cost of your accommodation budget. Dragonfly, Immigrant, X2, Red Square are all potentials but not easy - especially when they find out where you're staying. Dragonfly also has something of a dress policy. Take note that there is also P4P available (very pricey) in these places albeit less obviously so, and the price you're going to pay in drinks in any of the aforementioned places will easily outstrip your accommodation budget by the time you even feel the slightest buzz. To me, your best bet is to hit the bars of Kemang (like 999) and target the student and young affluent crowd. Drinks are much cheaper and you'll be more of a novelty. The main issue will be that quite a lot of the crowd have their own cliques which you'll need to break into. The potential is there though and if I was your age, that's where I'd be. Your biggest barrier will be your accommodation however - do try and do something about that. Good luck mate.

I've been almost fully in the dating market since 2008 (barring a few occurrences when my other brain was doing the thinking). So I would think it really depends on individuals and their types.[/QUOTE]I have to agree with this albeit I haven't found quite as many virgins (a total of five and I can guarantee that two of those aren't virgins anymore) and I would say in my case the mix is maybe 25% Chinese and the rest either mixed or Malay. I have had some stunners but my current preference is for the "attractive girl next door" which I have to say seems to have yielded the most fun by far. I have almost fallen in love a couple of times, and it's still painful when some of the girls move on and get married. Yes I've been warned by JAD many a time, but it's difficult to advise an addict.
