Or what about cycling / renting a bike, or is that too dangerous on the roads there?

I sent a few e-mails to apartment rentals from vrbo, and had a reply from The Palms. Sousa Vacation rentals, does anybody know it? Is it chica friendly? Another hotel which looks fairly interesting is Sousa by the Sea, same questions go for that one please! I would not mind staying in a nice all inclusive for the first week, but I suppose all of those in general are not chica friendly, am I right? Place seemed to be for the use and enjoyment of older Canadian who were with their younger Dominican boyfriends. I was told by the female Canadian property manager that I was forbidden to take Dominican chicas to the pool. I saw older Canadian women in the pool with their much younger Dominican boyfriends. I received a nasty handwritten note one morning in the Palms apartment that I had rented informing me that I made too much noise the night before and if there was any more noise they would throw me out with no refund of the money all ready paid. My wingman and I had sat on the terrace / balcony the night before at around 9pm with two Dominican chicas (some Dominican chicas talk loud and laugh loud) , there was no extreme noise and I was threatened with eviction, as such I would never stay at the Palms Condominium complex that is located past the Tradewinds Condominium complex.

Tradewinds is a nicer Condominium complex, the pool is much nicer and when I stayed at the Tradewinds no one ever broke my balls about anything. You might be able to reserve an apartment through Rockys for the Tradewinds. Tradewinds is not in the center of Sosua.

I always rent a car. For me to rent a motor bike, I would have to worry about the bike getting stolen. There are places in Sosua that rent motorbikes. Roads are generally in good condition, driving at night on an unknown road, I would be extremely careful, I have read of missing manhole covers on the road between sosua and cabarete.

Entering the Dom Rep, the Dominican government does not check if you have a return ticket. As long as you are in DR spending your money the DR government is happy.

Blackbeards prices are set for short time and all night. Sosua chicas are freelancers and are therefore free to make their own prices. A hotter looking chica can usually get away with asking for more money. Sosua has Passions Massage and CMP, two places with chicas on site, with rooms on site. At Passions you can pay to take the chicas out, probably also at CMP. Passions has a webpage with photos and Blackbeards has a newsletter with photos.

Sosua by the Sea, cute hotel that is not chica friendly. Casa Marina is the cheapest all inclusive hotel in Sosua. If you wanted the comfort of an all inclusive for the beginning part of your trip you could stay at casa marina for a period of time and rent a second room to use for sex.

As I started getting back to reading the forum in December, that was the idea that I had in the back of my head-that the "drought" was probably more due to the holiday season than other factors. I'm not on the ground, so I don't discount reports from those that are who report on arrests and other government crackdowns, but, I guess, knowing what I know about the DR, I am more optimistic than pessimistic about the future of our hobby in Sosua. Another question, which I also asked on the POP forum was, have girls migrated from Sosua to Puerto Plata in the wake of the crackdown in Sosua?

I don't know what your motivation is in trying to scare off the members from coming to Sosua but I am calling BULLSHIT on this one. Yes, they are issuing tickets to tourists, tourists who are parking ILLEGALLY. This is a good thing as people park wherever they want sometimes and cause serious traffic problems in Sosua, the streets are to narrow to park on both sides of the street.

FYI. They are issuing tickets to both locals AND tourists equal handidly from what I saw, how the fuck would they know a tourists car from a locals car?

As you stand there with Casa Marina down the road to your right, look straight ahead and the woman waving at you from the other side of the street will be Belki or one of her assistant hairstylist and masseuses. Just cross the road, go straight for 20 meters, and they will rope you in. Belki is an older woman. You can fuck her if you want, or her assistants, or do whatever you want in the massage room. Also outside they police station near the Texaco, they were doing a roaring business stopping cars and motoconchos, seemingly at random. The station parking lot was like a cattle yard with all the sad faces lined up.

I felt a twinge of sorrow for them. Flashback to Nassau in the 80s. In those days the coastguard was routinely turning back boatloads of Haitian refugees, and I was walking over the bridge to Paradise Island. There was a 20 foot open boat with what seemed like 100 Hatians with only room to stand had tried to land during the night. The broken down boat was squalid, full of filthy garbage and meagre possessions, with only a pile of bananas for food.

Now Nassau must be 500 miles from Haiti, and the thought of the desperation these folks must feel to even attempt such a journey shook me profoundly.

As I walked by, a young bedraggled beauty holding on to a baby looked me straight in the eye, with a pleading I will never forget.

So, I could never disrespect a puta for doing what she has to do to get by.

I think you are suppose to carry your passport as a foreigner in DR, if I'm not mistaken (like some other countries). That could be even a bigger fine or even luck-up till you can produce it.

What a pain, do they just want to get rid of all tourists (not just mongers) with this kind of behaviour. I don't think even ex-pats (who supported police / puta crackdown) would like these kinds of hassle. RIP Soswer.
