I do not know the solution but one way of preventing is to save telegram contacts so that you will have an URL saved on phone. If you have too many contacts may be worth taking a membership for a month.

I didn't have my phone with me for some days and had logged in through the desktop app. It was working fine for last 2 weeks and then suddenly this shit happened. I had saved all key contacts. Once I have my phone. I will see if I can get them.
