I have Rewards Points accounts with Marriott and Hyatt that I used to stay at JW Marriott in Kempang, and Grand Hyatt (near Kempinski). I've managed without the grand hotels - as long as the accommodation is decent. I prefer chic boutique hotels to big 6 star joints. I'm not into spending to impress, but balancing out having fun without being a cheapskate. I'd just go with the flow. I've been out and opened a couple of bottles, and I've been to simple cafes for a date (or even just direct to my hotel room). All yielded the same results. The most important thing is that the girls feel some sense of adventure / fun and have a grin on their face at the end of the night.
