Sorry to use the forum to ask for personal advice: I am embarrassed to ask this. The girl I mentioned a couple of weeks ago is now asking me to help her sell a Rolex, in my country as it is a reputable country and in the EU. I know I am a trusting guy who likes to say yes, so I'm wondering if some of the more cynical comrades here might be able to comment on the risks for me, and suggest a risk free option. What if I merely put her in touch with a shop in the UK?
I have a bad feeling about this. Getting calls from a girl in floods of tears who has put herself (if her claims are true) in a very stupid position, claiming I am her last hope all sounds like too much of a set up, even for me, but maybe I am too suspicious
My inclination is just to tell her to talk to a reputable shop, which she can find via Google.

Let me guess, she wants you to pay her for the watch first? Then you are supposed to resell it? If that is the case, then scam is written all over it.
Solo Traveller. This music is called Manele, and is a modern gypsy form. It is frowned upon by Romanian people who think they are better than others. Florin Salam is probably the most talented exponent.
There are different strands developing. One strand is quite blatantly connected to criminal groups. Another opts for sexist approaches. Another strand reflects on life (see Florin singing Doamne the Mi Anii Tineretii: God give me back the years of my youth).
As for dancing try any of the old videos by Florin Salam and Costa Ionita together. Or search for the incredibly sexy Christina Pucean.
Some Romanian girls don't like gypsy manele. I love Romanian women, but not manele.

Or...maybe point her in the direction of one of these;

WGs are very interested by our watches. When you have a bit designed watch which costs about 200 and you never put it off, in the sea, for skiing, for climbing, they ask if it's a Rolex, which means money.

Optimist, you may want to give this a read;

You're taking the watch from her to sell it and then give her the money? Receiving the watch in the EU, selling it in the EU? Don't see any problems.
HB.

Pistons. No, I am not being asked to put up any money. That would be dumb, even if I had the watch as there is an apparently legal market in replica Rolex in Romania, so I could be trying to sell a dud.
CK. Thanks for the scam link. That was an obvious scam from the start as he did not have the item in his possession. On your relevant Web links re sale, I was thinking of something like that. She could even travel to the UK to sell it in person to, say, the Watch Centre, or more conveniently, to Germany.
HB. That's what I think. Thanks.
I found the song which has been playing for years in German FKK / Sauna clubs.
It seems that some Romanian girls love the background rhythm, and start dancing when they hear this song. This is maybe why it has been kept played again and again for so long.
By the way, which club has the best music / song played in the club?
I see many clubs have one touch screen at the bar. The bar staff members use the screen to select songs / music. I doubt all clubs have the same system which contains the same songs, because I heard so many songs repeatedly in different clubs for many times.
Mondial only plays loud Turkish songs and music. No English songs were heard there.
Acapulco seems to extract a list of songs of Calvin Harris and Justin Bieber from YouTube, because the orders of the songs are identical. LOL.
. LOL.
Thanks for sharing. Reminded me my times in Germany FKK clubs. I event don't remember they play a music in Artemis or not. But it looks like I am missing Artemis. I am planning a third trip through mid April. I hope there is no holiday or easter within this period. It is always complicated for me to check since I am not christian.
-
Iceberg. Sorry to say you will hit the Easter period. If you google Orthodox Easter Dates you will get the dates easily.
She can't get on a 2 hour flight to sell her Rolex? She'd get probably 80% of the retail value in London, right? If someone is truly desperate, that should be sufficient.
The risks are legal trouble. That costs time and money. Prove that you unknowingly sold counterfeit / stolen items. If the purchase of that Rolex is linked to some credit card theft ring in Romania, they are going to suspect you to be complicit.
Even if the request was genuine, I wouldn't wan to be responsible for someone else's luxury watch. It could get lost, damaged, or stolen.

Just too much of a risk if this watch is stolen or who knows what. This is the time when she calls sobbing you just listen & react like a stone wall. You give her a reasonable excuse why you cannot help her.
Seems to be a huge risk for you & close to zero in return except you're a great guy! It's her problem let her deal with it. If she gets all dramatic & threatens to off herself, just tell her to hold off so you can bang her 1 last time then she can do it!

If it's truly a real Rolex why can't she just sell it in Germany and Switzerland, 2 countries that have people capable of paying for it.
Optimist, why would you even consider doing such a thing? Too many things can go wrong for you. My guess is the watch is real but stolen.

Mr Ho is not optimistic when it comes to working girls, once a prostitute always be a prostitute one way or another LOL.
