Did not see a Wuxi thread but do apologize if this should be posted somewhere else. Since Shanghai is quite close, I though this might be a start.

Anyways, I will be going to Wuxi in April. Can anyone please recommend some good saunas and their location? Have been searching the forum but there is not much info. Making some early prep work!

When I was there last year, I would get random chat requests on my Wechat account that I assume were pros looking for business. I could also send out chat invitations and had a reasonable response rate from ladies that were interested.

Currently, absolutely zero incoming traffic and no response to anything I have initiated.

I have even tried the brute force method, and sent out 20-30 chat requests and all were ignored.

Has anyone else seen this and is their an explanation?

BTW, my location when I tried this is near the Jingan temple.

At the spa is a sauna, charges are about 488 rmb, five years ago. Have red ropes. Shows girls one by one. Girl quality can range from 6 to 7. 5 with a the rarity of 9's (with lots of rules). If you do the KTV's make sure its the Korean style KTV's so you can bring the girl home. Quality for these girls are 6 to 8's. LT was about 800rmb back than. I MISS WUXI it was one of my favorite towns. Just watch out for the young xinjiang boys selling knives.

Hi everyone,

I like to share with you an incident that happened to me two days ago.

At around 10:30pm while returning back to my hotel from the local family mart, I was approached by a young man asking if I'm interesting in women and massage.

It was my last nite in Shanghai and I was feeling a bit frisky, hence I asked for more info. He told me that he knows a place not far from the hotel where there are pretty girls etc.

After much persuasion, I agreed. We then boarded the next taxi and he brought me to a building approx 15 mins away via taxi. As my Chinese is not very good, I couldn't recognize the name of the place, but the building is connected to a restaurant and a budget hotel.

When we got there, the man paid for the fare and we walked into the building and straight into the lift. He then pressed level 19.

When we arrived on level 19, there was a karaoke bar. Its one of those places where girls sat and sang with you etc. However I noticed that there were no other customers, just lots of girls sitting around.

I was then ushered into a private room, a large room with 2 sofas and a large screen TV playing dance music.

The mamasan immediately brought 3 girls into the room and asked me to choose.

After I've made my selection, she then told me the price which was RMB400. I paid and she left me with the girl I picked.

A short while later she returned saying that the girl I picked was busy and brought another girl. BTW both were pretty.

Mamasan then left, and me and girl number 2 got down to business.

After I've done the deed, I got changed quick and said I had to go. Immediately the girl left and 3 guys got into room and surrounded me.

The ring master. A shorter guy demanded to see what's in my wallet. I reluctantly handed it to him.

He took all of my cash as well as both my credit card and started asking how much I've got on both my card. He then told me he wanted RMB40k! This is close to USD$6k which I didn't have on me. I managed to talk him down to RMB20k. I wanted out of there asap.

As the short man went and swipe my cc for RMB20k, another man said that my "performance" was recorded.

The short guy then came back and got me to sign the credit card receipt and a formal receipt.

After this, I thought I could leave but he wanted to empty my other credit card. Thank God my other card did not work.

Approx 35mins later, they released me.

I am indeed a lucky man as I could have been beaten up, reported to the police or both!

Hence my advise is never never accept offers when approached on the street. This is China. Anything can happen.

My questions to those who are aware of this scam:

- I cancelled all credit cards but could not stop the RMB20k transaction.

What will happen if I contest this transaction claiming it as fraudulent? Will my signed receipt comes back to haunt me? Or will the thugs do any harm?

- If I do not contest the transaction and treat this payment as an expansive lesson learnt, will they continue to blackmail me? They do have a video recording of my session.

FYI accept for my credit cards which they took to process, they did not take or view anything else (my I'd card etc anything with my full contact details).

I also gave them a false name (altho they will have my real name from the credit card) as well as place of origin.

Fun seeker, you are not the first and won't be the last.

Call your card provider and cancel the transaction. It was made under duress. How will the thugs harm you if it was your last night in Shanghai? They've no idea who you are nor where you are going. You didn't say how much cash you lost but as you were prepared to pay 400 it must be a little more than that, so they are already in profit.

Will they blackmail you? Perhaps, if you are in fact a global celebrity who is instantly recognisable. If not, then at worst they have a low resolution video of a foreign guy fucking a KTV girl in presumably a somewhat darkened room and from a hidden camera, so more than likely at a distance and at a bad angle. But realistically, why do you assume they have a video at all? Because they told you? They also told you the price was 400rmb but surely you no longer believe that.

From time to time I follow pimps like that to see what happens and you can have a lot of fun, if you decide to leave the "Black Karaoke Clubs" before you did anything there, because than hard for them to threaten you (but I only recommend that if you first can speak Chinese and second if you have some Chinese friends with good relationship to the police). But a interesting fact: if guys approach you on the street, they will not stop to offer their "sexy girls", doesn`t matter what you tell them, but only one sentence in Chinese will imediatelly stop them, so I am sure they know with Chinese language you can handle a police discussion, and they know very well, if they treat someone who can call the police the way they did with you, than they will get serious problems.

But to answer your question:

- I would try to claiming it as fraudulent, because in worst case you have to pay the 20K, but there is nothing you can loose. You can tell the Creditcard company, you signed a paper with 2K and they changed it to 20K. Sounds reasonable for everyone, because a session in a Club or Restaurant (that`s what you will find on the credit card invoice) will be more near to 2K than to 20K. And there is a lot of cheating like that in China, so why your one should not be like that.

- There is not really a way for them to blackmail you, at least not with the police or the Chinese law, only if you are afraid they get in touch with your company or family, but first that`s not their business, they are cheating pimps, but not blackmailer, second it will be hard for them to find out your privat personal information if they only have your creditcard information.

But you can be sure, they will never ever bring that case to a Chinese "official institution", because this kind of "Black Karaoke Clubs" are not welcomed by the police, so that means if they will bring that case to police as they threatend you, they will get much more problems for themself than you will ever get! This kind of threat works well to get the money from a western guy who is afraid to get trouble with local law, but if the police will show up there, the club will be closed forthwith and a lot of that guys will be "invited" to prison (and they will have to stay there much longer there than the maximum of 10 days for a customer of illegal prostitution in China).

The police in Shanghai deals with Sauna or KTV Clubs, means they get "tip" for not raid them because of prostitution or give them a warning, if there is a upcoming raid, but I never heard about police support black cheating clubs like that. This kind of business is very bad for the "reputation" of the city, they the police also would get serious trouble, if they ignore it or support it.

There is a story about a guy who went back to his hotel and asked the concierge to help him call the police because of a very similar case like yours, and suddenly a "friend" of the owner of the shop show up in the lobby, promised to solve the problems and some minutes later someone come over to bring him 18K back from the 20K he paid. You see, they even send someone to watching that guy after the deal to make sure he will not call the police (or if so, to be informed in advance, so they have a chance to escape).

I am sure you will never get in a situation like that again, but if so, remember the place, call the police and the problem will be solved.

I think they will not have recorded any video and even if so, you can be very sure they will never show any video to the police, because if they use that for evidence, that you hired a prostitute, than it`s also a evidence that they offer and support prostitution. And in China for the customer of a prostitute, the punishment is 10 days prison (maximum) , for the pimp 2 years prision (minimum) , so they have some very good reasons not to record a video (because that would proof what they did), but even if they did, they will never ever show a video like that to the police!

As to the blackmail part, IMHO, a completely empty threat unless you're a 'person of interest'.
