Maybe rugby is more popular than Footy.

Rugby League is more popular in the north east (NSW and QLD) where the majority of stadiums are rectangular.
AFL is more popular everywhere else, most notably in Victoria where all the major stadiums are round (except one).
Rugby (AKA Rugby Union) has a slightly smaller following, mostly with the upper class, whilst the other types of football are more working-class games.

Think the 4 day weekend has tired everyone.
NM was OK for numbers. Not so many men.
NEP 2 was quiet. Very quiet. And smoking banned.

Had a funny thing happen when I was getting some supplies at a chemist a couple weeks ago on Sunday to prepare for a trip. Went late morning. Was browsing around and talked with a couple DH in the store. On checkout, saw that one of the DH got a packet of pills. Well, on the way out we got talking again. A hour later, we were in a room and I missed my lunch appointment. LOL. She and I were able to both keep out separate late afternoon appointment. I sometimes wonder why I do this to myself as I am not that young anymore.

Due to my rotten timing. Again last night, that being my one desire for the evening being on her "scheduled monthly respite", I decided to see what was happening in Wanchai.
Aside from the fact that at 11:00pm Escape (or Fenwick in my book) had exactly 6 girls that I could see and not many guys.
Went to Neptune and was able to find a seat at the bar. Incredible.
Chatted with a recent arrival from Manila, but wasn't feeling it. The one gal I really was interested in turns out to be from the mainland. I had to laugh, since living on the mainland I was hoping for something else. She is cute and is surprised when I can speak a little Chinese. We make a reasonable deal and start to leave. As I was departing the the security guys ask me which hotel I am staying, I asked why the wanted to know, and to be honest was completely caught off guard by this question. I was like WTF, it is none of your business.
I did finally show my room key and they were very evasive when I asked "why they wanted to know". I was told it was for the ladies "security", the girl later told me they wanted to make sure that I was from out of town.
I did ask what would have happened if I was local and didn't have a hotel. They told me there would have been some more questions asked. Interesting times we live in.
The girl didn't seem concerned about this, so I guess it is okay with them, but I didn't expect to be questioned. I guess I will have to get used to it!

Perhaps this is a crude filter by door staff to check if the punter really is a punter. Not going to be fool proof, but perhaps helps a bit keeping the girls out of LE clutches.
