Thx for info.
In terms of Sayuri, are the girls available to takeout - barfine? Also, have you found the beergardens a good place to meet girls - working or otherwise?

1) sayuri. dunno, have never tried. what i like about it is that it is self-contained, easy, no wrangling, no bullshit, walk in/rocks off/walk out.
2) i assume you are talking about the small bars i mentioned, not really beer gardens. up to you and your social graces or depth of wallet. yes you can meet girls that way but it isn't as business-like as pattaya or soi 7 beer garden in bkk--fyi, any girl you meet and pull at a bar in thailand is a working girl of some sort with very few exceptions, make no mistake about that. if you happen to be very young, very handsome and hip, and go with some thai friends you could try meeting some college students at the monkey club on nimmanhemin rd. or discovery disco directly across from kad suan kaew shopping center on huay kaew rd. when i took a peek at the latter it was assho;e to elbow with gorgeous college girls (and their male counterparts): this quality of speciman is never encountered in a farang hangout. no hope unless you meet those requirements though, plus maybe speak fluent thai.
Just got back from CM and nothing out of ordinary. No military coup came here. Everything was open.
I like the surroundings here and everything seems slower than the rest of Thailand.
I have heard the CM girls were more beautiful here than anywhere else in Thai but I didnt see any real beauties when i went there. Some of the non P4P women were not bad but the beer bars and night club P4P girls were not that hot during the 2 days I was there.
Also some of these non lookers were asking for Bkk prices. So I have nothing new to report as I decline their prices and went to the MP instead.
Wish to ask bro here, if Empress Hotel is girl's friendly(like to try this hotel). The other hotels that i know, is girl friendly are Duantawan, Pornping, royal lanna and Prince.
Hi,
Pardon my ignorance. First time in this Forum and first time to CM. Me & my buddies are planning to have a major party in CM.
I know CM is not like BKK but am wondering if CM have places which provides such group activites (i.e. threesomes with bi-sexual ladies ala Eden Club)? So far, there has not been any recent FR on this subject.
Am not an active player as I do not travel frequently but I do post FR when the opportunity arises (not in this forum though, only discovered this forum recently).
Thanks for your time and suggestions.

You might ask arounf the beer bars around the moat but in 10 years I have never had anything to match Eden in CM. In fact tough to match that anywhere I have been in my travels in 30 years :-)

CM is very, very tame compare to BKK and Pattaya for the sex scene. Its now more famous for its sightseeing than for P4P.
Years ago that was not true as CM was a wilder untamed sex location. But Gov't clean up have done away with that.
So if you are in LOS for the action then CM is not the place to go--instead head straight for either Bkk or Pattaya.
Note: most of the better sex workers that grew up in CM usually relocated to BKK for their trade.
A very good % of workers in the BKK MPs are from CM.

Latest news from CM.
Never happened before so this is the 1st time in the history of CM. Normally they may get some tremors form more distant places but never before centered in CM.
So 1st Earthquake to hit CM yesterday. Measured about 5.1 on the Ric. scale.
Some houses and the University suffered cracks but luckily no serious injuries. Just reports of minor ones from people running/falling etc. trying to get out of buildings etc.
Also, over 10 after shocks felt after the quake.

They got lucky - 5.5 Richter is about the level where damage starts to be significant and there can be some real loss of life from structural failures, in places where the building codes are not upgraded to deal with seismic events.
Meteorological Department issue warnings yesterday,
Director of the department's Chiang Mai office Suparerk Tansrirattanawong said 69 aftershocks had been recorded.
"It has sent a signal that more earthquakes may hit Mae Rim and San Sai districts," Suparerk said.
Yesterday's earthquake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale and occurred just after midnight. Its epicentre was in Mae Rim district. The earthquake was about 33 kilometres deep.
"It's the first time an earthquake has occurred so close to Chiang Mai city," Suparerk said.
An official at the Meteorological Department said the earthquake was caused by the Mae Tha Fault, which was about 30 kilometres away. Stretching about 55 kilometres in length, this fault has generated 23 quakes during the past 28 years. Prior to yesterday, the most recent quake was in March.
The impact from yesterday's quake was felt by many. Mae Jo University students evacuated dormitories and engineers spent yesterday checking buildings for structural damage.
Staff at the Lotus Hotel Pang Suan Kaew said the earthquake panicked guests for a short time. Other hotels reported calm.
Mineral Resources Department director-general Apichai Chawacharoenphan warned residents not to get overly alarmed. "Panic often leads to injuries during an evacuation," he said.
The earthquake was one of the strongest recorded in Chiang Mai.
Apichai said while yesterday's earthquake was not alarming, the number of aftershocks was "unusually high".
"Department officials will look into this and work with other authorities," he said.
Information will be passed to the Public Works and Royal Irrigation Departments.
Regulations in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Lamphun, Lampang, Mae Hong Son, Tak, Nan, Phrae and Kanchanaburi require buildings to be able to withstand earthquakes.
"The Public Works Department is seeking to enforce similar rules in Bangkok and its four adjacent provinces," Apichai said.
National Disaster Warning Centre chief Smith Dharmmasaroj said there were nine active fault lines in Thailand and earthquakes along some could affect Bangkok

Looks like CM not the only place to have problems with nature. Chiang Rai (north of CM) declared a disaster zone today in need of immediate relief efforts for about 1 million people.
Temperatures plunge to record lows. Single digits in the mountains and only about 10 degrees C for highs in CR.
Calls for blankets and warm clothes are needed as fear of plunging temps endangering many lives in this area.

Yeah, it has been cold up in C.M. and expecially C.R. I have been up here looking for a retirement place. No bargains to be found anywhere. It has gotten damn expensive in Thailand.
Kongkaew Rampan is the second victim of this month's cold snap after the death of another worker two weeks ago.
The first victim was a security guard who died December 15 while on duty outside a building. Shinawatra Srihome, 47, was found dead at his post at a computer store in the provincial seat.
Police attributed his death to night-long winds combined with ultra low temperatures, triggering an attack of asthma, his long-term illness. The provincial office of disaster prevention and mitigation in Chiang Mai said that the lowered, and falling, temperature prompted the province to declare 200 districts as disaster zones affected by the cold weather.
The average temperature in the province was recorded below 10 degrees Celsius.
More than 400,000 residents in 736 villages were affected by the cold wave.
The meteorological department said on Wednesday that a cold front from China extended to upper Thailand and the temperature is expected to drop further. (TNA)-E004
----So if you plan to visit here, bring a winter coat and also a warm blanket for your hotel stay as some hotels may not be prepared for this cold spell.

It has warmed up quite nicely in Chiang Mai. I actually used the fan in my room last night. For Farangs a light jacket is all you need. Being used to BKK, like a fool, I came with only short sleeve shirts. Had to find something warmer and in my size (XXL) in Thailand is very hard to do. Finally found a sweat shirt for 199 THB that worked perfectly. Chiang Rai was a little colder and we needed an extra blanket on the bed at night, but the days were pleasant. Now for Thai's bring a winter down jacket suitable for Artic explorers and three or four electric blankets. People up here are dressed like the next ice age is approaching.

I just came back from 5 days in CM and found it "fresh", but nothing more. Of course being Canadian, I consider anything above 20 celsius as "steamy".
The Thais walking around like Eskimos with parkas, mitts, toques and scarves had me laughing, especially when seen in the vicinity of 7 foot tall, sun-burned Scandinavians in singlets, shorts and sandals. I'm not sure which were more freakish.
In any event, it's not the place to be this weekend. It was so crowded, you couldn't move. The Thais travel in packs, like lemmings. And, the Euro-Farang there seem so large, that one equals an entire Thai family. They expect 18,000 Thais per day on Doi Inthanon to see the frost on the flowers. I managed to talk my GF out of that trip. The idea of spending a day going up what amounts to a big hill to look at some frost seems as exciting as having a root canal.
I did manage a small victory in the 2-tiered pricing battle when I managed to get in to the CM Zoo as a Thai because of my work permit stamp in my passport. I plan to try it next at the Grand Palace when I take my visiting niece there next week. I would suggest to anyone who is legit here, to try this elsewhere, like national parks and see if you have any luck.
