I would add my voice to thank you for posting this recommendation. I downloaded it yesterday (it is available with English subtitles on pirate bay) and watched it last night. The small peak it offers into the inner workings of a small, sleazy bordello is fascinating. But as you note, this is not the main topic of the film and I found the film's treatment of the urge for vengeance very well done. As I am so used to the American style films I was blown away by the intelligence and subtlety of the film. So much is said with so little action. I love it.

Gasse is a small street. In English it is called lane or alley. Mostly there is only one lane to drive (of course only one-way).
Strasse = street
