I ususally just stick to Medellin for this reason. I have some non and semi pros I been talking with but now it seems the whole city is upcharging and stopping you from bringing guest into your apartment. What gives??

[/QUOTE]The girls are asking for more as per my report from January but I think it has more to do with it being high season and a lot of regular tourists showing up. My advice is to stick to your guns and never pay more than 200 k for short time. 150 k-200 k is what an independent in Medellin would want anyway. I don't see why we should pay more in Cartagena. LDV, Isis and touts will always go for their cut so keep that in mind.

[/QUOTE]There was a report on this thread about a guy and his friend getting girls consistently for 100 k from the clock tower area. I haven't had any luck there, or didn't like what I saw. All the buildings from the beach in Bocagrande are enforcing stupid curfews for non registered guests. I did airbnb it for my trip next month and the host assured me after 10 pm any visitor just needs a cedula but honestly I'm not holding up much hope. The host will claim one thing and the building admin will enforce a different set of rules. Your best bet is bringing some food back with you and giving it to security and receptionist.
That being said the love motels are plentiful in centro and the girls know where they are. Then you can always arrange to register her during the day if you like the girl. I did that with two chicas on my lasttrip.
I hear you about the cheap pussy in Medellin which is why I'm spending a week in Medellin before my week in Cartagena. I still prefer to be in Cartagena because it's a much nicer venue for everything else (casinos, beach, bars).

1) because a girl outstationed from Medellin to Cartagena has a lot of additional expenses in the most expensive place of Colombia, the room rental above all, not to neglect drinks if she goes hunting to a club;.
2) because the tourists in Cartagena have a lot more money than people in Medellin and men are willing to spend much more than punters in Medellin (never heard a guy from Texas proudly reporting to have paid 200 USD and still "it's a bargain for 9's-10's, because in Dallas such girls would cost $500 and up"??).

NO WAY an average girl from Reloy would accept to go for less than 200 k, unless for a quickie in a room at one of the small hotels at 2 blocks who rent rooms per hour. And in the last year girls became more demanding with their first price request than in the past, even recent.
In my extensive experience there, I found some decent girls who accepted 150 k for 1 shot in the last 2 years (then in all cases I gave 200 k finally, including a tip, to get an outstanding experience to remember), but they were a very small minority (not knock-outs, yet better than passable, but certainly more in need than others). 80% of girls will ask 200 k for 1 hour, some even 300 k. 150 k is achievable, but not with all and only after good bargaining.
Sure, the lower-end girls who loiter between the Reloy and Calle de la Media Luna are on a lower price tier (80 k-150 k) but personally I go to Cartagena to aim at a different type of girl.
P.S.: This year I had ONE girl, 22 yo but looking younger, pretty and sexy, a real gem in the garbage, who was loitering there outside the Reloy and asked me 80 k (That was an unicum, in years of experience on site. She is the owner of one of the two pairs of tits which I posted here time ago.

[/QUOTE]I'm not disagreeing with you but I've seen girls at LDV ask for 300 k-350 k then sit there all night until 2 am without any customers. One of the girls was that happy hooker I was fucking for several days from my last report. I realize the nights are long in Cartagena and she probably hit up Space next but still; it seemed like a wasted opportunity to make money.
Most of these girls spend time just waiting.
EDIT: I think they wait less during prime season like March which is why the poster is seeing high prices. That's why I'm heading back first week of May to Cartagena. It is supposed to empty out mostly. I got an airbnb place for a little over $50 USD a night by the beach in Bocagrande. A similar place would cost me $100 USD in January. My hope is prices are more reasonable off season. I'll report back for sure.

On the second night, you are already immunized and you can approach girls with a slower pace.
The problem is the clubs. Most of them are closed (Fragma, Babar,.) or dead lonely. Just wait 3 am and check Space, if you don't see anyone interesting enough before then.
Just to preface this post, and just as I did before my first trip to MDE (and Colombia last July) I have began to read the most recent 2 years of posts from this thread. I am currently on page 18 so I have about 8-10 more pages to complete the last 2 yeras. I read the most current page / posts then go back to where I left off the last time I was reading posts.
So, unless this info is covered in the last 8-10 pages that I have yet to read, if anyone tells me to RTFF, I already have and couldn't find the answers.
Right now, 2 simple questions:
-1) How should a gringo dress while walking around in the CTG, doy or night? Are t-shirts, shorts & flipflops / tennis shoes acceptable? The reason I ask is that in reading the MDE threads, I gathered that this type of clothing was only acceptable on Sundays in MDE and any other day at any time of the day, long pants & a collared shirt were to be worn so as not to stick out like a tourist / gringo. I know CTG will be much hotter than MDE so I'm wondering how uncomfortable I am going to be.
-2) Does anyone have any Intel on renting a boat to go fishing out of CTG? I do not wish to rent a $1000 charter from the tourist Charter boat marina to go catch 5 fish. What I am looking for is to pay a commercial fisherman $100-150 to go on his boat for a day to fish with him and catch 5 fish.
Any Intel on these to questions will be appreciated!

[/QUOTE]There's no real dress code in CTG. Especially in the tourist areas. With that said don't show up in flip flops to LDV. You'll just look cheap. I tend to dress up for the night.

Me and a couple buddies are going to Cartagena May 20th it'll be my first trip there I've been to Medellin before. I have a few questions:
We are looking to get an Airbnb near the beach but it seems they all have rules against bringing visitors or require proper ID registration. How much of a problem will this be? I have read on here that you can grease the security how much should I give for that?
We also want to do activities such as jet ski etc. Is a tout the best option to plan such activities and do they also arrange girls to hang out with you as well? Where can I find a reliable tout?
I'm a novice when it comes to Cartagena so any advice or tips are greatly welcome.

[/QUOTE]Last year it was just an ID (cedula) at most buildings and the girl would get in. That's a good thing for your security and hers. Now that's beginning to change. If you look at the Medellin Hotels and Apartment thread there's a renter called Juan who has chica friendly apartments. Otherwise you need to make it clear to the airbnb host you are bringing guests at night. The host may have no idea what the actual rules are because when he goes mongering he uses love hotels that are plentiful in Cartagena and all the hookers know where these are. So be upfront. Rules change frequently so it's better to do the search yourself.

[/QUOTE]You won't have trouble finding touts. They are a dime a dozen. I've had so-so luck with them. You can talk to Edgar at playa hollywood and he can help. Just be prepared to deal with back handed tricks to try to rip you off. Jet skis are about 50-70 k for a half hour to 45 minutes. The girls they will get you are usually from La Isla or Isis both are strip joints.
You want to frequent the clocktower plaza at night and the street with La Dulce Vida, Space, and Isis. That's about ground zero for hookers. Believe me even if you didn't have the map there's always a tout in centro who can show you these places.
Get the price for everything up front.

Unless a Colombiano is going to the beach you will very rarely find him in shorts. Yes Cartagena will be boiling and the Colombiano is hot but he still doesn't wear shorts unless it's the beach or he is playing sports.
I do wear shorts and flipflops during day but I am always around the beach. At night I could wear the same attire and look like the typical idiot tourist but I put on jeans and a collared shirt. Yes I am uncomfortable and have sweated my ass off at midnight walking around but I don't feel out of place when hanging out with locals.
Your call on how comfortable you want to be and how "stylish" you want to be.
2- Don't fish sorry.
