I do not think you understand what the girls are legally selling. My understanding is that in Mexico, the girls in clubs like Hong Kong are "drink saleswomen" and get a commission per drink. Essentially they work for the club to get patrons to visit the club and buy drinks. The girls have a quota of drinks they are supposed to sell, just like car or real estate salesmen are supposed to sell so many widgets per month. The reason the club stays open and has parties and special events is because the drink sales and VIP cards pay for the club expenses. The clubs are prohibited by Mexican law from profiting from "pimping" or taking money from the girls. Offhand, I usually buy a chica at least two drinks plus my own drink so that the clubs stay open and are available for watching sports, dancers, and partying. If the clubs find out that you are a "deadbeat" and are not going to buy their product or tip the staff, they can bar you from entering their club. At which point, you can then party for free at AARP meetings and church socials and meet some sexy grandmas like Hillary! .

Fichas isn's the only "product" HK sells, not by far. They make money on regularly priced drinks. They make money on food. They make money on their cut off stage performances. They make money on room fees, they make money on entree fees (including money chicas pay to simply work there). And on and on.

I seriously doubt HK will "go out business" because a few dudes don't buy chicas drinks. Everyone can decide for themselves how and where they want to spend they money.

1st off those "pieces of paper" are labor. One thing that is too poorly understood is that money = labor. It's why it has value. Money is just labor notes. We're exchanging our labor for their sexual labor.

Not wanting to buy drinks as a point of pride for some guys makes no sense to me at all. In fact I see this same argument about lady drinks happening in other mongering spots like Thailand.

I'm not sure why people don't understand that these women have drink quotas for a reason, it's to help the bar make money. Isn't that common sense? How else is the bar going to make money if they don't get a cut of the ladies' sex fee?
