There is so much information here that it's hard to know what to add so I will only give my impressions.

Many of the bars are loud and have a lot of cigarette smoke.

Atlantis is not that big compared to other places I've been and the quality wasn't that great. Including the more expensive 3000 bar fine girls. They only have the shows with the girls covered in body paint on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Yes, you are right that both places are ruined, but nothing can change it. The only thing you and the rest of us SMART mongers can do is to find other cheap places and only share the info with trusted members who know how to keep prices in check. Keep all good info in PM discussions.

Recently spent 2 weeks in AC and thought I'd provide a short summary of my trip. Sorry I don't have pics to post, but I rarely take photos. First of all in my opinion, the overall quality of girls in the bars seems to be very low right now. I've visited AC 7 times since 2005 and this was easily the worst as far as quality. There are lots of fat girls and in many bars it was hard to find even one that I was really interested in. Don't know why this is – maybe the hottest girls no longer work in the bars instead relying on the Internet & Western Union moneykos, maybe some not back from province after holidays, etc. Of course, quality is subjective so some may not have much problem with this, but when I travel across the world to a dirty town in a 3rd world country, I want to find hot looking, fun girls and that's getting harder to do in AC.

First, some of the positives: One Eyed Wench, a relatively new bar (formerly Tender Touch) was a positive surprise. For a very small bar, there were a pretty good number of cute girls. I EWR'd 2 on different nights (both very nice looking) and there were at least 2 or 3 more I might have tried. Although I generally don't like the big 'show bars' too much, Forbidden City was another one of the few bars that had several hotties in its lineup. I EWR'd 1 who was very pretty. Another at Forbidden City I'd liked to have got hold of was a nice looking chick with huge boobs (also bunch of tattoos). Her boobs drew a lot of attention and she was promptly grabbed up for drinks after hitting the stage the few times I was there. Tropix also seemed to have a decent lineup and Roadhouse had a few decent girls.

Now, some of the lows: Genesis, which had the best overall lineup during my previous trip, has lagged considerably. Atlantis, Dollhouse and Lancelot's lineups also seemed somewhat depleted. Dirty Duck has definitely lost some of its life although I was never too crazy about this bar due to the extremely high drink pressure by waitresses as well as dancers. Some of the bars were downright awful (Voodoo, King of Diamonds, Bodyshop, Coyote Ugly, Treasure Island, Lolipop).

I also visited a few Perimeter bars, but nothing too spectacular to report there either. There was a girl with huge boobs that looked appealing at a bar next door to Candy Bar (Bare Assets I think). Also, Pussycat Dolls had a few decent prospects, the best I noticed being a pool girl.

It seems there's also an increase in girls being very willing to cut the bars out of the equation as I had several who, after 1 EWR, offered to come back for follow up visits (allowing me to avoid paying for an EWR and drinks). Not a bad deal since EWR prices have increased quite a bit over the last year (P1500 is the lowest on Fields, with some bars at P1800 and higher for the 'featured' dancers, P3000 at Dollhouse group and a ridiculous P4000 at Golden Nile). Instead, I just paid the girl her share of the EWR (about ½) and a little bit extra for good service. I don't begrudge the bars making money, but some of them have just gotten ridiculous with their overpricing and double ladies drink pressure. I also met a couple girls from previous trips no longer working in a bar (on Western Union support) who wanted to make some extra money – interestingly, they found me rather than my contacting them (the bamboo telegraph is amazing).

Based on my experience, the lineups at AC bars can change dramatically from one night to the next so I'd always suggest checking for yourself. I hope there's a significant improvement by my next trip though.

Don't bother with civilians. For 30 odd dollars its not worth your time which is limited anyway. My experience in AC is that it is harder to pick up (not impossible but you have 3 days) then most other places due to girls knowing why you are in angeles in first place
