Ok, I am a little confused (but don't worry. I am not too bright and I confuse easy). I usually tend to lurk until I can find out the information (especially since I have nothing to contribute yet) but I do have some questions. You read one report and they talk about how great the new Sosua is. Then you read another report about how its gone to hell and all the hot chicks packed up and left. That all the chicas that are left all look like Alice the goon and you will only have a good time if you have a little black book of sosua. What do I believe? I have just been hearing so many conflicting reports that I am not sure. Worse case scenario I stay at my AI and drink presidentes everyday and pass out in the sun. I just don't want to get my hopes up to have them dashed.
I just booked a trip for the beginning of April. Since I am a newbie at this, and have never been to Sosua before and don't know what I missed (ignorance is bliss?) , I am having a hard time determining if I made a mistake or not. I speak no spanish and I am not a hardcore monger. I am going solo so no wingman either. Am I destined to be "super gringo" and be confined to passions, BB and cristals? Or do you think if I ventured off that path and hit up the bars like classicos that I would still have a good time?
Also I know most people have said the best way to set up a threesome is to pick one chica and let her pick the other. I am looking for a full threesome where they play with each other also. How do I know if they are going to be into one another or if the one chica I pick is just trying to hook up her friend with a payday?
Pooter offers good advice. I am not sure whether you have already booked a room at an AI. Which AI you have booked at will have an effect on your mongering. If you are booked at Playa Dorada complex then you will be a 30 minute drive from Sosua. If you are booked at one of the RIU AI Hotels then you will be over an hour from Sosua. RIU Hotels are closer to Blackbeards.
Sosua has two larger AI Hotels, Sosua Bay Hotel / Victorian House and Casa Marina Reef / Beach. Sosua by the Sea Hotel may offer a meal package. Last time I stayed at the Sosua Bay Hotel / Victorian House AI, the owner had switched to serving Brahma beer for the AI guests (no presidente beer) , for me Brahma beer is like drinking sewer water.
To offer better advice I would need to know what area your AI hotel is located.
If your ATM fees are too high, open up a free PayPal account online, request a free debit card, and pay US$1 per ATM transaction when you are in the Dominican Republic. Before trips, transfer some travel money from your bank account to your PayPal account for free and never have to worry about using your bank debit card again.
Is there a currency conversion factor they use to skim profits off you as well? Have you tracked the conversion rate they use? One buck is pretty cheap even if they do skim somewhere else too.
Like I said,"zero fee" with Schwab is great AND the skimming on the conversion is the lowest I have seen anywhere.
I think it is pointless quibbling over the fact that "not all" banks allow the extraction of over $2kPesos. Just don't give them your business and plan your extractions at other places whey you believe the environment is safer. After all you're not in Kansas anymore.
Like someone else posted earlier. Why sweat the small stuff.

PayPal Business Model
Is there a currency conversion factor they use to skim profits off you as well? Have you tracked the conversion rate they use? One buck is pretty cheap even if they do skim somewhere else too...
Yes, I have tracked the conversion rates on a monthly basis since 2008 and I have NEVER seen ANY exchange rate skimming. PayPal can charge $1 per ATM transaction, because 1) they're an "internet bank" with very low overhead costs; and 2) they can make money with short-term/overnight loans over the 3 - 5 day transfer period (the 'Float').
my good man let me try and break it down for you.
1st: do not i repeat do not change your plans to come to sosua. you'll have a good time.
2nd: the reason that there are so many conflicting reports is cause of the og's and the new comers. now what i mean by that an og has been coming to soaua for plenty of years so the sudden drop off is going to be a shock. which is rightfully understandable. now a new comer or a monger that has been to dr plenty of times but doesn't really come to sosua often when they come it's all good cus they can't really tell the difference or they don't care cus there's still plenty of honeys it's just not as many as they use to be and it's not a free for all.
3rd: as far as a 3some i'm shooting blanks down there. now don't get me wrong i've had happy hour plenty of times but having the honeys kiss and play with each other that's a different level i haven't rose to yet. hey mr. gogo, helpmann, savepro, miamiheatlover, jao etc please intsruct my man in the ways of gettin bi-females in dr. hell i'm taking notes cus i need that to happen next time i'm in dr.
p. s. you got till now and april to learn some spanish. trust me speaking spanish goes along way in dr
great advise coolie, i speak for everyone when i say were awaiting your next visit and report. and yes everyone should still go to sosua because it is still excting in a different way.
as far as conficting reports go, everyone sees things differently because we are not the same. the "new sosua' vs the "old sosua" is like this for me. suppose you haven't been to mcdonalds in a few months, and decide you want a big mac. so you go to mcdonalds and look up at the menu and all you see is "hamburger for 69 cents" nothing else. you're hungry so you order two hamburgers but while your eating you remember the day when you could have fries, apple pie and a drink. but for someone who has never been to mcdonalds that hambuger is great.
the three way is a little trickier. most dominicanas don't want to share your deniro with other girls especially if its a gfe. but the days of gfe are over in sosua unless you have previous regulars. before you could walk your date to the beach for an afternoon or just hold hands walking around sosua. before there were so many girls that they had to lock in to secure a good thing. tln was on the menu in the old days. now the main course is st. the girls want to get paid fast and move on to the next quickie. alot of women that travel in pairs will usually do 3ways, but the sex usually is mechanical. the santiago sisters are a prime example. they offer sex 3ways but are going to make it quick (don't tell jao and bq) and business like. if i was you i would find a girl that has a girlfriend. tell her your a voyeour and just want to watch. specify a two hour time limit with them kissing, hunging, rubbing, sucking etc. grab a drink for the party, sit in a chair facing the bed and let them do what comes natural. once they are into it and know your not going to jump them, sit back and enjoy the show. if you prefer you can jack off and watch their reaction. if your real smooth go to the bed with a hard dick and red 1000peso notes held over up over your head in different hands. expect to get gang tackled and raped.

-Helpmann.
There is always exchange rate skimming and tracking this on a monthly basis (for our purposes) is not practical.
I don't proclaim to know the process exactly, but somewhere the rate for the Day is determined. The banks then take that rate and add on fractions of a penny so they don't get screwed when passing each other the money. This skim value is essentially passed on to the customer behind the curtains.
Paypal should provide you with the exchange rate they used for every transaction. In the past I have compared this to the published number via Yahoo finance (historical daily rates are available). It usually worked out that for every $100 I took out, the banks skimmed a couple of bucks off the top compared to the published rate for the day. Consumers just about never notice it.
I was fine with the skim because it was not too much and rumor was that the larger the banks interacting with each other (US with Road) the lower your skim tends to be.
The bottom line is you are being skimmed from and the banks do a great job keeping it hidden.

When I refer to skimming, I am NOT talking about "fractions of pennies", but rates that exceed more than a half a percent deviation from the published exchange rate (Bloomberg). Because my PayPal account has been accessed from an ATM in the DR 2x per month for almost three years, it's not very hard to back into an exchange rate given the amount requested and deducted from my PayPal account.
. Personally, the biggest annoyance with PayPal is that free money transfers from my bank account to my PayPal account take 3. 5 business days. Nevertheless, that is how PayPal makes money, on the 3. 5 day float.
-Helpmann.
That is my one and only complaint also. Never looked at it from your point of view so I guess I won't complain anymore. I guess having my money "float" is worth the advantages of having PayPal.

Its always been closer to 5 o 6 BUSINESS DAYS for me. So make sure you plan plenty of days in advance. I once had to use my credit cards for a cash advances because my money was still tied up on transfer times. Which really sucked because I got hit with so many different kinds of fees. This money tied up time is usually with cards like ETRADE, SCOTTRADE, FIDELITY, PAYPAL.

I am staying at iberostar. Which I know is very unfriendly for the chicas. But I plan on coming into sosua and staying there for a few days. I am trying to combine my fun with a few days of just chilling out.
While in sosua the plan was to session during the day, hang by the pool, have some late dinner, take a nap and then head out. Seems like that is the way to go.

If so, for the Puerto Plata part of your trip you will need somewhere to take the chicas once you have found them. You cannot take them back to Iberostar.
I live in Puerto Plata. PM me if I can be of help, especially showing you how to get around on the cheap by public transport. Taxis are expensive here, especially if you book them from the AI.
Iberostar is a nice hotel, there will be tourist women topless there and you will have a nice view of Mt. Isabel. Next door is the Marien AI. You will be in Costa Dorada complex which is adjacent to playa dorada complex. Two minutes from the Brugal factory and less than ten minutes from Crystals. I was in Crystals two times years ago and I saw some fine chicas there, prices are over $100US. El Bohen is another place in Puerto Plata city probably about 15-20 minutes from the Iberostar.
If you wanted to monger in Puerto Plata city you could do a Man Tour. You could visit Playa Dorada at night and see the bars they have there, years ago they had roadhouse, coco boingo, Hemingways and some others. Mangu disco in Playa Dorada used to get some pro chicas, but I believe Mangu is closed and there seems to be an effort to keep the pro chicas out of playa dorada bars.
There should be all you can drink good red wine at the Iberostar, so you don't necessarily have to confine yourself to the local beer.

Rocky's bar condo
Hey guys I have been reading up all the info and I have everything planned out. I will be making my way Sosua in May.
I just have a few questions.
I will most likely be getting a condo at rocky's hotel (did the math and it comes out cheaper for a week than hotel). So I wanted to know will I near close enough to the action that I can walk or take a motochono (sp?)?
Also I wanted to check out BB's. Since I won't be staying there can I just go there and pickup the girls there?
and pay US$1 per ATM transaction when you are in the Dominican Republic.
3. PayPal Debit Card Fees.
"ATM Withdrawal US $ 1. 00 (Plus any amounts charged by the ATM owner.)
Signature Withdrawal $ 3. 00 if a signature is required.
Non-US ATM Transaction (Using an ATM machine that is not in the US) 1% This fee will apply even if the transaction does not require a currency conversion.
Non-US Debit Card Usage (Making a purchase from a seller that is not in the US) 1% This fee will apply even if the transaction does not require a currency conversion.
Exchange Rate & Fee The currency exchange rate is determined by PayPal based on the current market price and includes a 2. 5% Fee. This Fee only applies when PayPal performs the currency conversion.
If you use an ATM that is not a Maestro / Cirrus ATM, you may be charged a fee by the operator of the machine and / or by any network used."
Taken from Paypal's website. According to this, it is 1%, not $1. 00. Not an issue for me, but might be for those who are looking for the most cost effective means to access their money.

Tradewinds Condominium is the least expensive of the three condos ($45 per night low season, $50 per night high season). They also have rates for one or two week rentals.
I rented at Tradewinds numerous times. Tradewinds is on a side road off of the main road (airport road) , going towards cabarete. It is 5 minutes or less on a moto from classicos. There is a small supermarket on the main road before the side road for Tradewinds. Usually in the mornings motoconchos wait down the hill from Tradewinds along the main road.
To walk into the center of Sosua you could walk along the main road, or you could cross the main road and take a side road, where you will pass the German baker and you will eventually be near Hotel Europa and the vicinity of Passions.
I had fun at Tradewinds. The pool is nice. I went swimming nude with chicas at 4-5am after "After One". No complaints from me about Tradewinds.
The other condo on Rockys webpage is priced about $75 per night called Mary Rose luxury condo, I have no info on that place.
The third condo they have is in Cabarete and is luxury, and is priced at about $190 per night high season with a three night minimum.
