Barko,
Reading your report of the cock-squeezing ladyboy reminded me of a similar occurance that happened in August of this year in the same area.
I was staying a few days in the Crown Hotel on Soi 29. At around 11:30 pm I began walking from the hotel down to Nana. I lived in Bangkok for a year back in 1999-2000 and have traveled many times throughout Thailand and SE Asia, so I know it is possible to come across light-fingered katoeys (and other evil things) at night in this area. For this reason I never take my wallet or more than 3000 baht with me. This time I had about 600 baht and change in my front left jeans pocket, and 2 1000 baht notes rolled up in that small "watch" pocket on the front right side.
As I approached the construction area around Soi 23, I could see three ladyboys standing on the sidewalk watching me. One of them approached, smiling, put her arm around me and began feeling my ass and crotch area, saying something like "what do you have? " I kept walking, smiled, and said "mai chob katoey". I have never had any problems with ladyboys, sometimes they get a little too assertive, but I keep a cool heart and let them know politely that they are not my type and they leave me alone.
This time the damn katoey felt for my cock and grabbed the head of it squeezing really hard! I said Jep! And felt my knees buckle slightly. She kept her painful clamp grip on my penis a few more seconds and then let go as I was twisting away from her. Then she returned to her friends and I continued towards Nana, wondering why I received such cruel treatment.
As I walked another block I realized what had likely happened. Reaching into my front left pocket, I felt nothing but the fabric. My singha money was gone!
But I still had the 2000 baht strategic reserve tucked away. And I had an interesting story to tell the lovely (and gentle) bargirls. So I wasn't too upset about it, I just chalked it up to another interesting and learning experince in the land of smiles!
OK, I think something is changing too.
Normally I wouldn't say anything about this to anyone, most would say that it was an insignificant episode of city life, but I guess that we're going to have to stick together to get the warning out. Long story:
Last week, walking back to the condo from Oranges Massage, I was seriously accosted by the group of katoeys that frequent the construction zone between Sukhumvit Soi 29-31.
10: 30 PM, was just strolling along, mindlessly going over what had just been a so so hit on the massage place. The chick was too young, too inexperienced, but fuck me she was really really cute. Yeah, I was half smiling to myself, and I was also thinking about what was for dinner. OK. Never mind.
As I am just cruising along near the construction wall, suddenly about 3 meters in front of me, one really tall ladyboy dude steps in my path and exposes an enormous fake breast. He then quickly does that hugely exaggerated butt waggle up to me yammering some broken English about 'beeyootiful lady? " I smile, and say, "Mai aow krup, mai chawp katoey krup". (No thank you, I don't do ladyboys, thanks anyway.)
The motherfucking dude reaches down and grabs my cock! He then squeezed it so hard I had to turn over at the waist to pull away, he then dug his long fingernailed thumb in and twisted so hard that I had to double over.
Fuck me, from nowhere, many hands going into all of the pockets of my jeans, front and back. I have no idea how many there were. But as I looked up, the squeezer motherfucker was staring down right at my face with a demented glee that brought back too many bad experiences from when I was young. The guy was shwacked and he wasn't fucking around.
Something snapped I suppose. I fought back. Not really sure how I managed it, but I was pissed as hell. I dropped my weight down and away, lowered shoulder and decided that the only way I was going to get out of this was to fuck this one guy up real good. Barreled my head aside then did a hard American football tackle on the katoey's knee and at the same time sliding up with the intention of slamming his head into the ground with my hands around his neck. There was all kinds of shit happening behind me, but I never felt a kick or punch, it all happened too fast.
We both fell into the backside of a phone booth with him getting twisted up in some of that exposed wiring sticking up out of the busted sidewalk, then careened into the street with him taking the hard asphalt pizza slap underneath me. Falling directly into oncoming night time Suk traffic, a motorbike zoomed right by my head. I kept momentum, got to my feet and sprinted through the honking car horns to the middle divide of Suk, then ran as far as I could, dancing along the divider on the other side between the cars and the curb.
When there was an opening in headlights behind me to my left, I ran through to the the other side of Suk and straight into the 7-11. From the time I had bulldozed the dude, I had not looked back to the katoeys. When I finally did look back, I couldn't see anything, nothing. I couldn't hear any of them either (they make this insanely irritating pissed off screeching and yowling cackle when irritated.)
If those guys had chased after me, I was fucked. They hadn't. I slipped out of the 7-11 and jumped directly into a taxi that had slowed in front of my outstretched arm. By some miracle, they didn't get anything, and I had gone out heavy that night expecting some action later at Soi Cowboy. Won't be doing that stupid shit again, no sir.
Sound like a fucking movie? I guess, but I am still freaked out about it. The entire episode up to the point of the 7-11 must have taken 15 to 20 seconds at the very most.
Now look, I have not had anything like this happen to me in a long time. If somebody wants to pick on a guy, I am not a prime target. I'm old, but don't have a profile as being so, I dress young, have a good build, have all my hair and fairly pronounced wide shoulders.
Katoeys are usually very benign and low on my list of dangerous subjects. Hell, we have a fucking ton of them here in Phuket. I put my eyes in total 'ignore' mode when I see them, here they are easy to spot and a fact of life. This deal was the strangest godamm fucking thing but I am sure that this wasn't the first time of pulling this shit for those clowns on Sukhumvit.
You KNOW I won't be walking through that part of Suk anymore at night. But, guys, hey, be careful out there. Something weird is brewing in Thailand and I am not the only farang feeling it.
Danger and desperation lurking, especially in Bangkok. Maybe it's just the chemistry of the latest version of ya-ba. Who knows? Just be aware of it, be safe and take precautions now. I know I will. My dick was sore for two motherfucking days and my shoulder STILL hurts like hell.
Go safe.
...2. The ass is flat. Which is for me a big nono. A female ass has to be round so you can put a bottle of beer on her buttock when she is standing without the bottle fall down. ;-)
Are you looking for a girl, or a mule? :D
Now it is obvious you've never been to the place!
1. Overpriced - maybe yes, maybe no. It is only over-priced if it doesn't meet you expectations.
2. Where in Bangkok is not awkward to get to in bad traffic?
3. MRT is at the top of the road, less than 3 minutes walk away.
4. Hot walk or wet walk - same as #2 above.
5. Old and awkward rooms? All the rooms I have stayed in are well fitted out. Don't get what you're on about with this.
I'll have to reply to this one.
2. Bangkok is not awkward for traffic in general, some places are and some not. I have lived here for 20 years so its all normal for me, but some places are worse than others.
Soi 33 is a nightmare as if you go out towards Phetburi road to go to the airport you will get hit down the small one way soi's with solid traffic, especially morning and late afternoon. If you go out to Sukhumvit similar story as you are nowhere "near" to an expressway entry. Why even the "Mick Licker" would onl stay at Soi 33 for a night or two, and if he had a flight to catch he would move to a better located hotel to make it easy to get the airport.
Sorry but Soi 33 can be at quite a few times in the day a complete nightmare to get out off when driving (eg taxi to the airport).
3/ MRT is at Asoke, which is a good 10 minutes walk from Soi 33. If you are referring to the BTS at Phrom Prong, you are only talking about the entrance, add a further minute to walk all the way from the entrance, up the strairs along and to the gates. From the entrance of that place in Soi 33 to actually being on the platform of the BTS is one long walk in the heat or the rain of Bangkok.
1/ Thats an old marketing trick. Something is overpriced if you can get better quality at a similar price, or the same quality at a lower price. Ignorance does not make over charging correct. Ignorance means people are paying more for what should be less, and while the seller makes a nice profit the buyer has been ripped off. So something can well be overpriced and yet meet your expectations, its simply your expectations have been incorrect to start with, and as I said, ignorance is not an excuse.
If the Democrats order lots of buses for Bangkok BMA from China and pay gazillions of baht, does it make it correct if they think their expectations were met and so the buses were not overpriced? My God, politicians would love that excuse to justify paying billions of baht over price on anything they buy.
Danger and desperation lurking, especially in Bangkok.
I've been noticing an increase in pavement derelicts, some crashed and passed out but many just destitute old people.
Barko / Kendishman,
By instantly saying "Mai Chop Katoey" you have in a way insulted them, as it means that you instantly know they are a bloke. Now whether you can or not these boys like to think they look like a girl, so if someone says "Mai Ow Na Khap" and leaves it at that, they might get a little kick out of it thinking you did not know they were a Kateoy.
However, saying instantly you do not like Kateoys kind of ***** slaps them that they are not a pretty girl, but looks like a bloke, and for some of these on too many hormones that kind of makes them snappy.
I would suggest you simply stick to "Mai Ow Na Khap" and keep on walking, and avoid in future saying "Mai Chop Katoey" directly to their face.
I mean, if you are in a bar and you like a girl and ask her to join you and she says "No Thanks" then its ok.
If she says "sorry but I do not like ugly fat old men" then some people might take offence to the honesty of the reply.
Same here with LB's.

Csun123,
Hell you want to end up like Michael Jackson? Can't sleep! Have a glass of red wine and a cold tablet! You want to get a blood clot on your leg from sleeping the whole trip while in a Airplane.
The Pro,
You have good contributions to make but you are starting to sound like a guy that got Banned, " Domino " who just disagree just to disagree even though he had no reasonable explanation for his point of view! He disagree just to push people button and when he couldn't push the button any longer he started calling people names. Reality you can have a opinion about a place but like everything when you come to the end of the road because you just haven't been there or stayed there that's when it is no longer a valid opionion. Stay and visit the L.L. and then you can validly express a opinion. Nothing personal but when it comes to this topic you are starting to sound foolish and I think you are better than that when it comes to your contribution.

The Pro,
I am only a casual visitor to BKK every year and cannot follow your statement. The Lodge is definitely a good place, specially for newbies in the scene. Very good advice from the owner and manager, a quiet place in a good location, very friendly staff, no pushy girls in the sportsbar, no problems to reach the airport, 3 minutes to the MRT, excellent food, what do I want more? I will come back. What is your problem with this?
I've never had any problem but I am curious if anybody has ever had anything stolen by a working girl they brought back to their room?
After blowing my wad, I am a very heavy sleeper and I often wondered what prevented a girl from stealing my stuff and leaving before I woke up.
I, of course, lock up my valuables (wallet, money, passport, laptop, watch, etc) in the hotel safe before I go out to monger but I can't shove everything I own into those small hotel safes.
Ever been ripped off?
Are the free lancers more likely to steal than the bar girls?

God I hope not, I don't have problem sleeping except on the plane on long flights. The bad part is I don't drink. Nothing wrong with drink but just can't stand the taste. Wish I drink sometimes because it would make partying and flights a lot easier.

I would certainly confirm that it is a bad idea to use the back Sois from Soi 33 to get out at Petchburi road at peak hour (I did it once only and didn't quite miss the plane). If your plane leaves very early morning or late at night, no problem.
If late afternoon trip to airport, it is better to catch the taxi from opposite side of Sukhumvit Road and head directly to the expressway, even though Suk is moving quite slowly. Allow plenty of time. So I would even walk dragging my suitcase (on wheels) to Suk to catch the taxi.
So I haven't really had to move to a Hotel close to expressway. But flights to Australia go at good times (non peak). To other countries, not necessarily.
There are similar traffic problems in many other Sois at peak hour.

Of course my critizism is extreme and cruel, but I like stunners more than performer and so, Thailand is not my shangri La. ;)
Well of course that selection is not to all of our tastes. That is because was deliberately selected on big butt basis. So how about some examples of your Shangri La that are better than Thai girls?
I've been noticing an increase in pavement derelicts, some crashed and passed out but many just destitute old people.
Had a long conversation with a 33 year old taxi driver on the way to the airport tonight. He said that the situation in Bangkok is getting bad. "Far too many taxis and not enough fares." He mentioned that he is averaging 400 Baht profit a day now, but was making almost twice that last year. "More people are going back to riding the bus", he said. He also said that long neglected 'family crises' have become rampant in his home neighborhood of Nontaburi. "Everyone is trying to borrow off of everyone else, it's bad."
He also talked about people in general not able to afford many of the normal every day things that they took for granted in years past. And of course, he blames Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva for all of the country's ills. (I kept my mouth shut for once, Isaan taxi drivers represent many of the Red Shirt force, mostly uneducated and corrupted/manipulated.)
At any rate, he said that the negative aspects of localized society in urban Thailand are much much worse than just a year ago. "There is a lot more crime. Soon it will affect tourism" he said. I was thinking to myself, "Man, you have no idea, no idea at all." (Tourism is ALREADY down 40%)
Be extra careful out there.
Well of course that selection is not to all of our tastes. That is because was deliberately selected on big butt basis. So how about some examples of your Shangri La that are better than Thai girls?
I can site an example, Japanese girls. Many have incredible high bubble butts, and many start masturbating when they are very young. Good stuff there. Too bad that social mores these days prevent young freelancers from doing farangs. The good old days in the early 80's were a great inspiration for what could have been today. No dice. Lots of horny girls, but farangs are out of the picture (unless you know how it works. You ALWAYS need an intro.)
Looks can be created, performance can too. Same as everywhere. Young Thai girls are getting an attitude these days, they really think that they are all that (until they hit 26 yrs old or so, wake up and realize they are perpetually hungover and don't have shit.)
Have any of you guys noticed a huge influx of Thai P4P chicks over the last year? The Thai venues are jam packed with young talent now. Maybe things have just moved around and sorted themselves out that way, I don't know. What do you guys think? I'm seeing lots of chicks with fake IDs.

I did already post some photos in the photo section, some time ago. Just check my former posts. ;-)
