Day 2. Monte Carlo
I slept very late this morning in order to try to catch up on lost sleep and recover from a little hangover. At 3 o'clock I took a taxi to Sushi Leblon for lunch. Sushi Leblon is good, but not up to the level of the best Japanese restaurants in Sao Paulo. They do have a few specialities worth trying though. I did however enjoy both restaurants from the day before even more.
After lunch I had an agreement to meet a friend at terma Monte Carlo. He knows his way around Rio and had suggested Monte Carlo for this Saturday. When I arrived he was alteady present and welcomed me by introducing me to one of his favourites. She was very much my type. Her face has some Asian similarities, the stomach was nice and tight, nice skin tone, a little taller than the girls from the day before, long slender legs and a perfectly curved ass. I liked her a lot. We fooled around a bit in the boite before going to the room. I did not bother asking her out since she was a recomendation from my friend.
In the room she was very good. A long BBBJ with deep throating. My balls got their treatment too. Her ass was truly great and her reverse cowgirl, then doggie style gave a really nice view. I was however not recovered from the lack of sleep and a little jetlag, so when the time was up I had not yet managed to pop. I told her that we should take a break and return to bed a little later.
What I didn't know was that she had two bookings my other clients. So after a little fooling around in the boite, she told me she had to go but we could hook up again in two and a half hours if I wanted to. My energy level was low, so I decided to wait for my friend to finish his session and join him for drinks outside the terma. While waiting for him I met some new friends.
When my friend returned we left and stopped at a street food stand for a quick bite before having a few drinks at another place. When I finally made it to bed, it was over midnight.
After my first two days in Rio I would like to make a small comparison to SP which is where I am used to travelling. From what I have seen so far, the looks of the garotas are of pretty similar standards although SP might have more typical Euro types with white skin, blue / green eyes and blonde hair while Rio has more "typical Brazilian" morenas with that nice bunda. What is making the most important differance to me so far is the setting in which you are serviced by the girls. I am used to an environment similar to a club / restaurant where you are dressed normally and the events proceed in a "more natural datelike" manner and you bring the girl back to your hotel to spend the night. You normally get a couple of rounds in bed before you go to sleep and a BJ in the morning before she leaves (which is my absolute favourite). This quite a bit more expensive than the Rio setting, but this gives me a more clinical institusion like setting where you make appointments by the hour and are dressed in robes. The Rio setting gives you the chance to take another girl when your appointment is over which you can't when you have brought the girl to the hotel in SP. However the session in Rio termas are limited by time which also adds to an institusionlized feeling. I am sure this is just a matter of getting more acustomed to the Rio approach, but so far edges the SP experiences ahead of Rio so far. However to be fair I have not been here long, it has been a weekend and the selection of girls will probably be better during the week. I can't wait to go to 4x4 during the week.
Guys that earn more than your average dude out in the baixada. They generally agree on a sum of money per month to "help them". Now surprisingly to me the amount of money given per month is quite low. Probably could be a few hundred Reals to maybe R$1500 per month max. Very low compared to what some of my buddies give their girlfriends to live off per month in Zona Sul, think $3k and up, some cases way up!
I have done this and it can be nice compromise. You are paying them to stay home and not bring a disease into the relationship. The biggest issue is how much time you have to devote to her. If she gets bored. Well you know. I also have some friends / GP's that I know did this and that was their biggest issue. They missed doing stuff. You can imagine how boring it would be to go from a terma lifestyle to being alone at home all the time. Also they are used to making more money so that sort of wears on them. I think if you live in Brasil, it is better to just make her your gf for real. If you don't then just skip it.

Day 3. L'uomo
I slept late and had lunch at Fasano al Mare. It is white truffle season, so they had a special menu set up in addition to their regular menu. This is an extremely expensive restaurant and I can't really say it was that great. My risotto was overcooked and even though it was serve with a really generous shave of white truffle done at the table, it was a true disapoinment for R$505. With my starter and a bottle of red wine it turned out to be an okay meal but with their astronomical prices the meal was in no way near worth the money.
After the meal I took a taxi to L'uomo using Bubba Boy's guide it was easy to find. Since this was a Sunday the selection was pretty limited. No girl really stood out as a first choice. After a while a tall slim morena came over to me in the bar and introduced herself. She recognized me from Cafe Photo in Sao Paulo where we met a couple of years ago.
We fooled around a bit in the boite and she had exactly the tongue gymnastic skills I was looking for. I never took her out from Cafe Photo, so I did not know how she was in bed. She also wore a one piece bathing suite which could have been to hide something but I decided to go with my instincts anyway. I told her though that I was only interested in a BBBJ. She told me no problem as long as I didn't come in her mouth.
I honestly don't remember if the bathing suite did hide something she didn't want to show because it really didn't matter. For an hour she gave me the best BBBJ of this trip so far with a really great variety of techniques. Again I could not pop but wow, I enjoyed that.
After returning to the boite I found my friends from last night. I noticed some new girls had arrived an one in particular sparked my interest. She was occupied with another client though. Having nothing else to do I decided to wait for her and soon they left for a cabine.
Time passed and she never returned, so I left ten minutes before closing time and took a taxi to Barbarellas. It was dead and the girls were not attractive at all. So I left and headed back to the hotel.

Thanks Sangue Bon,
I will check out your recomendations. White truffles are very expensive anywhere in the world. When I order that I of course know it is expensive and this is also indicated on the menu. It was not so much the price I find outragous, but that the quality was not top notch. When a chef is trusted to handle ingredients like this at prices like this an overcooked risotto is simply unacceptable.
I expected quality on par with what you get at Fasano in SP. Sadly it was really a stretch to that level.

GK
The Fasano is the most overpriced hotel I know in Ipanema. I have business colleagues who always stay there and it is at least USD$500 / night. Plus they charge outrageous prices for internet, like R$70 or something. We had an hour conference call there with the US and they tried to charge us something crazy like R$3000. Sorry to hear the meal wasn't up to snuff.
It's how I feel about T65 these days. For R$400 (hour plus water plus entrada) you expect premium-shelf girls, but the talent there has been weak since last February / March. If I didn't have 1-2 favs there it would be bleak indeed.
Tough day here for the Cartman. Not only did I have 2 street churros (with doce de leite) and a lot of espresso, but I asked 2 girls at 4x4 (who I thought I would session with) if there was anything they didn't like, and they both said they don't let guys come in their mouths. Sad day indeed. I had to walk away from both, but not before one had stung me for a R$16 capivodka (she had started at a RedBull & Vodka, but I talked her down). What the heck is up with that?
The Fasano is the most overpriced hotel I know in Ipanema.
No idea on the hotel but the bar has one of the highest ratios of hot girls to guys that I have seen anywhere in Rio. Now at the prices of a drink there, who knows what type of girl we are looking at.

Getting to Centro
During non-rush hour, high traffic times (if that exists?) , is it reasonable to take a cab from Ipanema to Centro to hit up T65 and 4X4, or is it way better taking the subway?
Headed to Rio for the first time in January.

When you come out of the subway you will be in the zoo that is uruguiana market, cross over the road and veer slightly right and walk up Rua Alfandega to Rio Branco (on the corner of Alfandega and Branco is Termas 502) , cross over the road and walk one block up and that brings you to Buenos Aires. 4x4 is about 50 yards down on the left. Alternatively cross over at the market, walk past Rua Alfandega and the next road on the left is Buenos Aires, walk up here (past the infamous number 85 on the right!) and cross staright over at the lights for 4x4.
Whether you subway there and back is up to you. Some people don't like to walk around Centro after dark. I have had no problems and not felt threatened on a work day walking around Centro (from Praca Maua up to Carioca) as late as midnight. In contrast midday in Centro on a Saturday felt more threatening. Just know where you are going (look at a map online beforehand) and try to look like someone who has just knocked off work and is heading home rather than someone who has just knocked off a sex bunny.
Have fun!

Help Wanted!
Hi fellow mongers,
This is my second post on ISG. I want to visit next February for the Carnaval in Bahia with some friends and I've never been to Brazil. My portuguese sucks, I've read about all the dangers and I need help. Frankly, how are the pros and non pros around that period, which hotels are girl friendly, safe and cheap, and where are the best places for action? Preferably hotels close to the carnaval routes. Also, what is the cheapest airline from NY to the place and do they have cheap jetblue type airlines in the country? We were considering visiting Rio and other places.
Thanks

Thanks
Welcome to the board. I can't help you much with NY flights info (try Kayak or a flight search comparison engine?) but the rest of your post needs to be more specific. Brazil is the size of the USA after all, with maybe as much mongering in one large city as in the whole of the States put together. If you are going to Bahia, do you mean Salvador? There are people on here who can assist you if that is the case. Rio is not in Bahia of course.

Miss Amazing
I found my new favourite Brazilian girl at 4x4 yesterday. We spent 5 hours together in the room. She promised that next time I am in town I can call her and she will come over instead.
Her body is a real work of art. Pure perfection in an all natural package.

Good for you!
For a while I thought you were going to give up on Rio. It takes time to find that one girl that makes the journey worth your time, but once you do, everything else is pure gravy. I would not ask you how much a 5 hour jaunt at 4 X 4 ran for you, but we know from your previous exploits that it was a drop in the bucket. We hope to hear more about this amazing find of yours and continue having a blast!

I paid for 4 hours. Normal 4x4 rate. They let us stay in the room an hour extra at no charge while they took care the other last clients settlement / payment.
The manager is really nice. She took the second entry fee off my bill when I arrived the second time on the same day on Monday.
