Got back a few days ago from Havana, my 60th or so trip. Cuba, you never cease to amaze me. Of course my Spanish helps But even without Spanish you will have fun. Prices have dropped considerably because on a favorable exchange rate. I exchanged on the street and never had issues. Of course always get pesos up front before handing over your dollars or euros. Most restaurants and bars accept dollars at a decent exchange rate. Ask rate before ordering. I suggst to take small bills. 20 and 10's in us Dollars. Speaking of restaurants, I had Lobster and a beer for US $6 on obispo. At 1 & 70 complex I had a plate of BBQ ribs, which were surprisingly good, for $5.
For transportation, The app La Nave works ok at best. At times the app was down or a bit difficult use. There were times when it just didn't respond. When it did work I liked it aot. I have found most Cubans also have a cab driver saved in their contacts as public transportation has deteriorated over the last few years. In general I didn't have much of a problem getting around. I eventually linked with a cab that I would call and he would come get me in a Blue 1957 Bellair. Incredible LOL. We actually became pretty good friends after a few days. Be aware Cab prices have gone up in the last few months due to fuel shortages and general price hikes. Always negotiate. I did not experience any issues with cabs trying to change prices upon arrival. Maybe cause of my Spanish? I do not suggest renting a car.
I picked up a few times around Obispo. Seems be a lot of girls are from Santiago. Prices I paid were between US $30 and $40. Could probably be had for less I just don't like taking too much advantage of chicas. I am sure some of you cheap fkrs can get them for $15 or 20. Always make sure they are 18 or over. Check their ID. No ID then walk away..
Because this genius overpaid when the exchange rate was nice and high his 35-40 is more like 65-70 now. Stop overpaying simps.
Per eltoque, it's still at 280 as of today. It did drop like a rock though from 340 to 280 over about 4 days. Not sure why, but it is what it is.
Of course, right when I'm about to leave in 10 days!
Dollar is down to 280 and dropping by the hour. Was 400 a few weeks ago.
Cuba will be more expensive than you think.

Because this genius overpaid when the exchange rate was nice and high his 35-40 is more like 65-70 now. Stop overpaying simps.
How about you post some pics of girls not old, gorgeous hotties you are pulling for $25 or GTFO. Some old, beat streetwalkers, maybe.

Some old, beat streetwalkers, maybe.
Maybe I forgot to mention in my report, chicas want dollars. Most will laugh at you if you try to pay them in pesos, at least any decent looking ones. Take small bills 10's and 20's maybe a few 50. US $ of course. Cuban pesos are good for cabs and restaurants. Thats about it. So do not change all your dollars into pesos, you will regret it if you do. I have never paid a chica in cuban pesos. In other words $ 35 dollars is still 35 dollars genius.
Because this genius overpaid when the exchange rate was nice and high his 35-40 is more like 65-70 now. Stop overpaying simps.
You are exactly right, folks overpaying, thinking they are hero's. LOL. They will never learn.

They will tell you they are not getting the same conversion as before which is true. So you need to up your pay now.
So $35 USD because your a hero gringo saving a Cuban Girl was about 13,000 or so Pesos back which I don't know is about triple the going rate.
Simps pay in dollars. Everyone accepts the peso dollar. Especially the girls. Look at your bill at a restaurant and look at the exchange rate they are offering in dollars. Yes you can pay in dollars but its an awful exchange rate. Literally the only thing you must pay in dollars is for Cigars at the Govt store.
They will test you and try for the dollar which is dramatically higher than the going rate. I had one try and say 50 Euros on me I laughed and we agreed at 4,000 pesos when I changed the currency which was about 11 bucks at the time.
Pay in pesos always! And for gods sake know the going rate.
Go to another country that's already wrecked like Costa Rica if you're going to overpay and contribute to ruining a place. Your not changing anything in Cuba by paying them more.
You are exactly right, folks overpaying, thinking they are hero's. LOL. They will never learn.
Actually most guys do learn if they continue in this hobby for a while.

Keep up the valuable and helpful information Supermon!

What country, especially a 3rd world country, the girls won't accept their own currency. What a joke!
I've been reading a lot of the posts and I'm trying to get accurate info. I'm heading there end of July. I'm a medellin guy so I'm familiar with pay 4 play. My spanish is decent not fluent mainly because if I never used the word before I won't know what it means. I already booked my airbnb and it's in Miramar. In medellin I network using Facebook and don't usually meet chics in the street or use apps like tinder due to the drugging. I don't care for casas but have been to new life a few times. My questions; what's the best way to build a network there. Where do I start? I have over 400 chics on my Facebook from medellin and I branch from there for medellin chics but I have Cuban chics to do that. Anyone have fb info where I can start before I get there? Should I just meet chics there and then start building? I've read from posters that they can pick up chics and take them out and then go back to the apartment. In medellin if she is a normal chic you are not fucking the first day when you meet. Where exactly should I go to find them? I'm seeing different posts about how to pay them. Their currency or dollars. Which is it? Those of you that don't like street chics, how do you network?
Cuba is an old school destination were good contacts are made over time -- forget the technology BS.
Introduce yourself, converse, get numbers then off to next location. You learn alot more by walking around the city.
The crime rate is very low and remember never record videos of the cops on your phone.
It seems like a lot of the younger guys can't wipe their ass unless the phone is by thier side. WTF -proud to be a baby boomer.

Hope other mongers help you out with the social media questions.
Miramar is one of the best hoods in la Habana, however, there is almost no action there. Aside from a few nightclubs there is nothing happening. Now, if have a rental car that would be no issue, otherwise taxis can get expensive in that area. If you stay around the 20's street would be a lot better than in the high 70's, 90's street, etc. There are hotels around 1st avenue the you get some action during the day at the pool (they have a small charge for access) nighttime some of the hotels have activities for the tourists and some locals blend in.
As far as finding chicks Habana vieja is the place for getting laid. Parque central, Inglaterra hotel area, Obispo street, San Rafael street are where you want to be. If you are young and have game & like civies, around the university is always recommended. Remember, prostitution in Cuba unlike Colombia is prohibited / illegal. Having said that the police would not bother you, they usually go after the girl / woman. Also, many Cubanas would gladly hook up if like I said before you have some game. Invite them out for dinner at no cost other to maybe gifting them some perfume, clothing etc.
Also, read up a few pages back and you'd get more info that will be helpful.
I found a 2024 video you can check out. all 3 joints are in the Miramar hood.
